Nice review. I’ve put a deposit on this exact truck at my local Toyota dealer. This is the first TRD Sport with the Premium Package that I have seen. It doesn’t disappoint. Those side steps really complete the looks of this truck.
Just bought the 2024 yesterday and took it back today because the engine hood vibrates way crazy. Dealer says it's normal but I don't feel safe. Will be in a discussion with General Manger tomorrow to see what can be done. Light strobe affect makes it very distracting and not safe because I found myself not looking at the road
Those grille shutters have me a little nervous. Time will tell, but I'm curious how they are going to perform in freezing conditions with blowing snow. I can see those things icing up. I wonder where and when Toyota did cold weather testing? They brought the gen III to Alaska in the winter during development. No gen 4's were ever spotted here.
Reduced gas tank 18.2 gals vs 3rd gen at 21.1 gallons..still NO hood shock struts..my 2001 Toyota Camry had hooded shock struts…why for the price of a Tacoma have NO shock struts for the hoods?
I don't like that strap that holds the 2:26 seat up there should be a lever that you pull to put it up then push it down to lock the seat i really don't like the extra cab witch you rarely see doesn't have the rear door and not many of them come with the opening rear window and it's way to small anyway and i hate that swich for the parking break if you have a manual i wouldn't trust that thing and forgey to set it half the time.
People complaining about the price while it’s expensive, this is equivalent to a 38-40k car in 2019/2020. Don’t blame Toyota blame inflation. They’ve also added a lot of features / tech to the Tacoma which is what kept the price down in earlier models
Will you have an allocation for a Limited when they are released? Toyota is a little weird that you have to choose from what they build instead of what you want.
We haven't gotten any information on the hybrids yet as far as allocation. We can place factory orders, but they are not customizable other than the color. Let me know if you're interested in placing a factory order!
Don’t they come with mud flaps too? Will the running boards provide much protection for driving gravel?? Dealers (and manufacturers) need to do a better job of preparing trucks for driving on gravel roads
@crystalladouceur598 In my experience, engines with turbos create a lot heat. The exhaust gases are what spins a turbo, which in turn forces more air into the engine. Since turbos constantly use heat they do wear out and fail. Now, a naturally aspirated motor usually doesn't deal with the additional heat stresses and in turn runs cooler and are also less complicated to work on. But I'm old school and prefer simple large dispacement engines.
Exactly you have the reason I prefer to buy 2024 honda ridgeline trailsport is v6 engine aspirated and the best thing is mgp miles is the same and not turbo nice explain my friend
Disagree. Tacomas were always expensive for what you got EXCEPT this Gen4. All the upgrades Toyota put into this priced it about right or at least competitively. Everyone complaining about the price and hating on it should test drive one.
I wonder if people arae aware they do not have to actually buy this truck if they don't want to. The way some speak about it, you'd think somwbody is forcing them to purchase one.
@@jfalconc I also have a non functioning hood scoop on my 22 Tacoma, however I was referring to the fourth gen 2024 cheesy hood scoop. I easily could’ve ripped the brittle cheap plastic cover off by prying it off with my fingers.
The backseat is a downgrade from the previous three Jen it's ridiculous the third gen when you fold the seats down you have a nice flat hard surface they're going backwards instead of forward on this new truck😅
They only come with the 6' box for the sport automatics in Canada. Same as the last generation. You can get a TRD offroad premium automatic with the 5' box in Canada though!
@@crystalladouceur598 ok thank you, I ordered a Tacoma with black interior leather I just wanted to see what it looks like, Hawaii hasn’t gotten any yet .. Thank you Aloha 🤙🏾
The TRD Sport Premium gets you a Panasonic view monitor, a key card, trailer back up with straight path assist, 120V outlet in the cab, running boards, cooled front seats, dual zone climate control, softex seats, removable JBL speaker, 14'' touch screen and a few other little goodies. Price difference is about $4k more than the TRD Sport Plus.
price and engine are two of a few deal breakers....I will stick with my 2012 trd sport 4.0 L engine with 132 K on her .....runs great and never let me down..........any new item must be around one or two years to iron out the kinks...just my opinion........hey do we get better gas milage with a 2.4 L turbo....nope. oops
@@crystalladouceur598I would try and use a real world object, like “this space would be great to keep towing shackles” or something. Something to help visualize
The exterior is nice looking. The interior is too trendy and "boxy" and its gonna look very dated after a while. Not a fan. Also, there are a lot of reviews on RUclips from people complaining about issues with the new Tacoma and Tundra. Also, I wish all the manufacturers weren't eliminating the v6 motors. Not a fan of the Turbo 4.
you are talking about mid truck with these options loaded $50000!!!!!! (BACK SEAT WAY TO SMALL) 4 Cyl. no Power for towing also, the interest for high score credit. 700 and up the 6% $3000 plus registration fee $2400 and the dealer fee at lease $1500 they call it protection!!!! but is not! toooooo much money for mid truck for this cost buy RAM or Seairra 1500, Toyota not heavy duty as we think.
These new way over priced tacomas the redesigned inside & out are absolutely horrible looking... i will keep my 2017 Tacoma trd offroad 4x2 only has 42k miles on it was paid off years ago, dealerships are not going to be selling many of these new over priced junkster looking garbage boxes thats for sure..

You can purchase a full size truck with that price, mid 60s ??

Nice truck, not really wanting a turbo 2.4l engine though.
May I ask why?

Love these but they're WAYYYYYYYYYYYYY overpriced for a Tacoma... This is not a full size truck but has a full size price tag
The new tacomas are build on the tundra chassis making the new tacos larger and roomier!
Why doesn’t have powered tailgate?
4 cyl turbo will not last very long
I agree with the way you lock the back seat in the lock position I think it was cheaper for Toyota to do that rather than have it built into the seat
Yeah people should stop buying and force the pricing to come down. It's crazy

The trucks in USA are too expensive and that is why they cannot sell.
Tacoma prices have risen to high for me, I will have to switch to a lower price truck going forward.
