Hey, was thinking abt doing Med too, but I'm not sure whether I should volunteer at a pharmacy or a care home. Like the most common volunteering place is a care home, but I'm not sure what you possibly could have shown (and talked about) in your pharmacy volunteering In your PS? Also, what did you do when you volunteered at the pharmacy? How do i approach them and ask to volunteer?
@tate_tutor great question! to be totally honest even though a care home is more common it really doesn’t matter too much because universities are looking at what you learnt rather than what you did and making the links between you volunteering and you as a med student or doctor. and they’re both caring roles - as a pharmacy volunteer i have to communicate with a wide range of people from children to the elderly and many have a vast range of conditions. one example i talked about was a woman who was deaf and i had to communicate with her about prescriptions. also, sometimes you have to give basic medical advice too such as how some medicines are for 3 days use only or things that need to be kept in the fridge. i recommend keeping a diary of some sort accounting for your experiences so you can talk about them easily. i volunteered from march of y12 onwards and im still there today! and you can email or phone them or even go into the pharmacy itself which is what i did and the pharmacist was very willing to help me out so that was great! i want to do a medicine related video so stay tuned and subscribe with notifications :)

@@user-vo4yk3um6q damnnn - my teacher said to me apply to the schools you like and at the start of the year go to one school one day and one the next (obvi don’t do this for a long time, only about a week) and then decide which one you like the best
What do you think of PMT Flashcards? Just the PMT flashcards alongside the CGP AQA Biology, Chemistry, Physics revision guides and tonnes and tonnes of practice of past papers from various sources? Is a grade 9 attainable?
great question! i think the pmt flashcards are definitely good but sometimes they go into too much detail or worse they miss out certain aspects of the specification. it would be best to use those + check the spec for each topic and make sure all the points are covered and any gaps - fill them with the cgp revision guides. i personally used the exam board textbooks rather than the cgp guides but i’m sure both work!
i will be posting more gcse videos this summer hopefully so stay tuned!! 💕 one website i highly recommend though is pmt (physics and maths tutor) they have notes, flashcards and past paper questions for free which is great
LONG TIME NO SEE!! hope you guys enjoyed watching after a long time 💓 question of the day: what is your LEAST favourite subject! 👩🏫
