I just love your videos! I get myself in trouble when you have like 30+ minute videos because they are always so entertaining, you speak so clearly and articulate everything really well AND I laugh a lot, especially with your editing and zoom-ins. You make me want to buy more stuff! Nooo, noo, noooo! I have the same issue with finding bronzers, just like the freakin' nude lipsticks! I'm sometimes too lazy for bronzer too and end up thinking they all look the same or just muddy. I have a couple of Too Faced ones and then the Chanel Soleil de whatever it's called and they are all definitely past their dates, eek....maybe I find a Fenty one??!! Eieieie. Those ones you had on looked fabulous on you and just made you glow, but you are always glowing and look so radiant!
I picked up the 300 range bronzers. I agree about Carmel Cutie. When I swatched it, it looked a bit grayish too on me but I decided to try it with my brushes at home. It never occurred to me to try the bronzers in the 200 range,. Now I wish I did. I do have the Bayal one to play with too. I did manage to get both highlighters. I called to find out if the store had it before I went. I saw some stores didn't have it. I couldn't believe it! I ran to get it before they closed and promptly honked out when I got home. Will try the products tomorrow. I haven't been wearing mean money much and I just don't know why. It is gorgeous. Let's see how the new ones stack up. Great video.

I was too 😊 between Island Ting and Bajan Gyal..was tough for me to make a decision while at Sephora today, I am in Mac Foundation NC40 ( When I am tanned) and Mac Foundation NC35 ( my skin color) while I am currently on Mac NC35 ,I chose Island Ting as it warms my face naturally. I wear Truffle as my Contour.

You’re the first I had heard of the controversy from, so I know it now and I WISH I COULD SEE YOU DEMO IT IN ALL ITS GLORY but I feel you on keeping it off your channel while you are uneasy with the impact the name had. I want to admit and be perfectly honest,I did not even register right away that it was going to be such a controversial shade. Maybe if the inspiration was that sort of figure, a different name could’ve been referring to the colors of that traditional makeup as well as the flag and other historical and cultural symbols. Maybe something like “Rising Sun,” like land of the rising sun? Or something. I always cringe because I am still always learning how different communities feel impacted by different words and actions, but I know I’m still bumbling around the world and if inclusive public brands like Fenty can get it wrong or get flack then I doubt I’m ever gonna get it right 100% of the time. I think pulling the shade so quickly, or trying, is a better response than maybe a half sincere apology on social media or an attempt to deflect and make an excuse about it.
This video took me so long to edit because the first draft I kept the footage but edited out the name, and thought well if Fenty pulled it from the website, then having it on my video isn’t a good idea 🙈 I also didn’t react quickly to the name, and another part of it is that (I don’t know if it’s true) but Ri is said to have a history of being racist towards Asians. I don’t have any concrete evidence of this but that definitely added fuel to the fire. When I first saw “Geisha Chic” I thought it referred to the style of blush of a Geisha. But I can understand how ppl were offended by the name.
kinkysweat Honestly yeah, I think it’s a very unique and artistic style and figure in people’s mind with strong imagery so I can understand being inspired by it but I had no idea about previous racial issues with Asians either. I mean, fetishizing Asian women is a thing I hear a lot of people complain about so I also understand why some people might not appreciate it. But it is a striking traditional image and I wish it could be referenced in a respectful and non exploitative way. Honestly, a lot of Asian trends in general have inspired makeup in the west or vice versa- the ganguro makeup style may look comically strange to a lot of people but like, it’s definitely a Bold Choice. Igari blush placement is something I’ve really liked the look of, as well. Idk man, I think there are very distinct styles or muses around but it’s a touchy thing sometimes.

I’m like 97% sure you have an ABH bronzer: it’d be 100% helpful if you came back in a few weeks with a wear test btwn them! Maybe even do half n half if they’re a close enough match? Battle of the bronzers? 🤷🏾♂️ It’s hard to believe but I’m finally hitting pan on my Mahogany so I’ve been looking to replace it with something similarly reddish; but I haven’t used many brands that beat the pigmentation of ABH’s bronzers. Also, I appreciate the tones in Fenty more, as I feel Cappuccino and Saddle are very brown. Maybe great for the winter, but that sun kissed effect I feel Fenty has in the bag. I will have to go back and see! But from what I remember, those are my observations.

Island Ting looks a lot more yellow toned on camera while the other gives a sunburnt cookie 🍪 vibe. A lot more red and sunkissed. BOTH beautiful, it’s just depending on the taste. I’d go for sunburnt but on you, I’d choose the yellow undertone for now and super bronze red tone in the summer. I love the fact not only you found a shade, BUT YOU GOT CHOICES. Benefit who? Who’s that? Never heard of her.

I’m trying to decide if I really “need” another bronzer 😩😭 I have an Anastasia one & it’s hella dark & pigmented so I need to use it with a very light hand & oddly enough my fave bronzer that I’ve used the most 😳(isn’t a popular choice or well liked by many) is the MAC Aaliyah Collection bronzer “babygirl” ...I’m light to medium but I don’t really know my “undertone” ,,, 😩 for foundation I’m yellow but I don’t know for bronzer ,,, if I’m warm or neutral but for reference besides my pic ,,, I’m the same skin tone as our beloved temptalia (Christine) ,,, with all of this said I’ve already kinda pre selected 3 different ones that might work for me 😅 ,,, your skin tone is stunning btw xoxo
kinkysweat Thank you for your insightful video ⚘ I just subcribed to your channel. I tried on the Foundation in 290 n 300 but it felt too dry on my skin..got patchy after 45 minutes though I applied with the Primer. Concealers were drying up as well. ( Sephora Mua used a brush for the application and added in Tarte concealer when Fenty concealer was cracking under my eyes ( I believe its totally wrong to top up another concealer), perhaps applied with a beauty blender it would have a different finishing. I do not feel satisfied with how it was all applied and may take my beauty blender along on my next trip to Sephora to try the 290 and 300 again with a blender. I almost picked up the Killawatt Mimossa sunrise but the purple shade did not compliment my skin tone as the Orange did, it was a lovely highlighter but I had to put it off 😄 as I only 1 color would be used then. Well, I am still in love with the Orange Mimosa shade..anyways my next purchased would be MeanmoneyHusla 😊

Das hard! I going to juggle between the two, and decide. They’re both in that same yellow/golden category. If I HAD to decide right now, I would pick Fenty just from the packaging. It’s prettier and easier to pack. Hoola’s box design is not my fav.

I am in Mac Foundation NC40 ( When I am tanned) and Mac Foundation NC35 ( my skin color) while I am currently on Mac NC35 ,I chose Island Ting as it warms my face naturally. I wear Truffle as my Contour.

You’re the first I had heard of the controversy from, so I know it now and I WISH I COULD SEE YOU DEMO IT IN ALL ITS GLORY but I feel you on keeping it off your channel while you are uneasy with the impact the name had. I want to admit and be perfectly honest,I did not even register right away that it was going to be such a controversial shade. Maybe if the inspiration was that sort of figure, a different name could’ve been referring to the colors of that traditional makeup as well as the flag and other historical and cultural symbols. Maybe something like “Rising Sun,” like land of the rising sun? Or something. I always cringe because I am still always learning how different communities feel impacted by different words and actions, but I know I’m still bumbling around the world and if inclusive public brands like Fenty can get it wrong or get flack then I doubt I’m ever gonna get it right 100% of the time. I think pulling the shade so quickly, or trying, is a better response than maybe a half sincere apology on social media or an attempt to deflect and make an excuse about it.
This video took me so long to edit because the first draft I kept the footage but edited out the name, and thought well if Fenty pulled it from the website, then having it on my video isn’t a good idea 🙈 I also didn’t react quickly to the name, and another part of it is that (I don’t know if it’s true) but Ri is said to have a history of being racist towards Asians. I don’t have any concrete evidence of this but that definitely added fuel to the fire. When I first saw “Geisha Chic” I thought it referred to the style of blush of a Geisha. But I can understand how ppl were offended by the name.
kinkysweat Honestly yeah, I think it’s a very unique and artistic style and figure in people’s mind with strong imagery so I can understand being inspired by it but I had no idea about previous racial issues with Asians either. I mean, fetishizing Asian women is a thing I hear a lot of people complain about so I also understand why some people might not appreciate it. But it is a striking traditional image and I wish it could be referenced in a respectful and non exploitative way. Honestly, a lot of Asian trends in general have inspired makeup in the west or vice versa- the ganguro makeup style may look comically strange to a lot of people but like, it’s definitely a Bold Choice. Igari blush placement is something I’ve really liked the look of, as well. Idk man, I think there are very distinct styles or muses around but it’s a touchy thing sometimes.

Iam medium skin tone but not tan more indian medium light, i tried bajan gyal in store and for some reason i fell in luv, more then any other shades, but still iffy if i should buy it hopefully it doesnt look funny on me but it was soooo pretty and smooth

I bought Caramel Cutie bc I already had shades similar to Island Ting. THESE BRONZERS ARE BEAUTIFUL 💖💖💖💖They apply like a dream. You are going to adore the new highlighter. It's better than I expected, and I'm decluttering some items bc of it. I don't have enough words to describe it. I saw Geisha Chic but couldn't bring myself to buy it. I'm not sure how to use it. If it's still in store, Ill grab it.

I just bought Caramel Cutie for my brown skin. I also bought a few highlighters (Ginger Binge / Moscow Mule, Lightning Dust / Fire Crystal, Girl Next Door / Chic Phresh). It’s hard to believe but I’m finally hitting pan on my Mahogany so I’ve been looking to replace it with something similarly reddish; but I haven’t used many brands that beat the pigmentation of ABH’s bronzers.
I was just wearing this type of look yesterday with the Do I Look Like I Care? Colourpop glitter tapped on my lids. My coworker thought I put in so much more effort, then the irony of the name hit me again, haha! 🤦🏾♂️✨😆
Hahahahahah! When the name of a glitter shade is a mood in real life 💁🏽♀️ 🤣 Chad I have THREE 🙈 I would say Fenty’s up there with the pigmentation. And it applies dare I say smoother. Also, I appreciate the tones in Fenty more, as I feel Cappuccino and Saddle are very brown. Maybe great for the winter, but that sun kissed effect I feel Fenty has in the bag. I will have to go back and see! But from what I remember, those are my observations.
I have different moods for blush or highlight, why not bronzer too? 🤷🏾♂️ oh yeah, because it’s been impossible to find shades deep enough til now! 👏🏾🤲🏾

Maybe it's the brush I used, but these bronzers went on pretty sheer. We are similar in complexion, and Coco Naughty looked great on me
What brush did you use? They’re buildable as well!
I used Kat Von D precision powder brush
Synthetic bristles definitely don’t pick up as much as natural hair because they don’t have cuticles to hold on to the pigment.

Island Ting looks a lot more yellow toned on camera while the other gives a sunburnt cookie 🍪 vibe. A lot more red and sunkissed. BOTH beautiful, it’s just depending on the taste. I’d go for sunburnt but on you, I’d choose the yellow undertone for now and super bronze red tone in the summer.

I’m trying to decide if I really “need” another bronzer 😩😭 I have an Anastasia one & it’s hella dark & pigmented so I need to use it with a very light hand & oddly enough my fave bronzer that I’ve used the most 😳(isn’t a popular choice or well liked by many) is the MAC Aaliyah Collection bronzer “babygirl” ...I’m light to medium but I don’t really know my “undertone” ,,, 😩 for foundation I’m yellow but I don’t know for bronzer ,,, if I’m warm or neutral but for reference besides my pic ,,, I’m the same skin tone as our beloved temptalia (Christine) ,,, with all of this said I’ve already kinda pre selected 3 different ones that might work for me 😅 ,,, your skin tone is stunning btw xoxo

I tried on the Foundation in 290 n 300 but it felt too dry on my skin..got patchy after 45 minutes though I applied with the Primer.
Concealers were drying up as well. ( Sephora Mua used a brush for the application and added in Tarte concealer when Fenty concealer was cracking under my eyes ( I believe its totally wrong to top up another concealer), perhaps applied with a beauty blender it would have a different finishing.
I do not feel satisfied with how it was all applied and may take my beauty blender along on my next trip to Sephora to try the 290 and 300 again with a blender.
I almost picked up the Killawatt Mimossa sunrise but the purple shade did not compliment my skin tone as the Orange did, it was a lovely highlighter but I had to put it off 😄 as I only 1 color would be used then.
Well, I am still in love with the Orange Mimosa shade..anyways my next purchased would be MeanmoneyHusla 😊

Das hard! I going to juggle between the two, and decide. They’re both in that same yellow/golden category. If I HAD to decide right now, I would pick Fenty just from the packaging. It’s prettier and easier to pack. Hoola’s box design is not my fav.
