I too am waiting for part 2. Im already half put off by the weak magnets. If the builder hasn't thought about that detail (quite a simple detail to overcome I would think?) then what is the quality of the rest like 🙄

So far the electronics are good. I've used it mainly for transferring programs, which works great. Haven't used the drip feed functionality yet, but I expect that will work. The visual path view is not that useful. I was hoping it would be a live path view as it machines, but it is only a preview.

Dude if your put off by magnets then how do you deal with cnc machining? That's kind of absurd.....the magnets are a easy fix. And that's really it's only downside.

Were you ever able to get wifi working on this thing? Or figure out how to drop files to it over the network? I was trying to get this running for my buddy and at first we couldn't get it to show up on the network (the router's attached devices didn't list it) but we were able to ping the IP from a laptop on the network. Then we got it to show up in the attached devices but couldn't ping it. No matter what we did we couldn't get it to show up as a network drive or anything useful and we are having a rough time finding a manual for how to use the thing. We did get it to drip feed one of the test.nc files to an old haas from the internal memory, but not much beyond that.

I have yet to use the WIFI features. I've only been using USB transfer. I will have to give the WIFI a try and get back to you. The seller that I purchased from has been very responsive, so you could try to contact them for help. ebay.com/usr/bee.vn

We ended up finding the software to install it. It's very finnicky trying to get the machine and the DNC unit to sync up, but when the stars align it ends up working. Having lots of problems with having to copy files over twice to get them to update and not seeing updated timestamps for the files in the file browser. Both the software piece and the user interface on the actual device are pretty atrocious imo.

Coming soon. I can say that it works well so far. At first I thought I couldn't get it to transmit to the CNC, but finally realized that the send button needed to be pressed twice for it to work.

I have 3 of these and 4 of the micro dnc and these by far are way better. Do yourself a favor and get a logitech usb keyboard wired or wireless doesn't matter , you can go through the interface using the arrow keys ,esc is back. Pretty cool device one you take the time to figure it out. Better than a floppy emulator and way better then having to run to a diffrent location to make or send posts.

Thanks for feedback. Have you had any issues if there are a lot of comments at the beginning of the code? Like if I download some sample code from HAAS that has very long comments it doesn't work till I delete the comments.

@@engineerable you know I usually del all that stuff anyways so I havent really noticed. The only comments I leave are when there's a op switch at a m00 or if chips need to be cleared at a certain spot. I usually fully go through any post in cimco and clear out any ghost passes and change feeds and rpm depending. I havent just loaded straight from post. I have noticed if you dont have certain symbols at the beginning and end the machine wont read. Hurco has a different one from the bridge port and haas.

Better to just get an old lap top computer (even a desktop), they are almost free now.. Especially the older ones with a serial port on them..

Maybe, but maintaining another computer is a pita, and you need a good DNC software. This DNC device is simple and works great. We use it all the time.
