Yeah it’s old. Needs to be more interesting. Why is there randomizing if it’s not quantized to a key. I know You can do that in the editor but come on!
I would like create a sequence just of volume or other cc message and create the midi part with midi editor: it’s possible? I mean do the inverse of process of recording.. write on the midi editor and edit volume and cc with this tool.. Or there are other tools? Thank you
Hi Greg, didn't you wanted to create a videos about the optical half transparent frequency clashing withe internal EQ while comparing 2 instrument/audio tracks?
When I record stepdesigner on a MIDI track(output connected to an external analog synth), it doesn't record anything on the MIDI track. Any recommendation?
the midi effects at Cubase are somehow still like for 10 years when I compare that with earlier versions, there are no big updates with midi the step sequencer is such a great tool but it needs some new features I wish for a more extensive step sequencer for the future
why I need this tool if all it much quicker to do in key editor? c`mon Steinberg, give us more modern approach to do things! this is all too old and not usable tools! I need more ableton style things in cubase (like lfo for every parameter I want for example, and also make lfo for lfo, that modular things like in ableton and bitwig will be very useful in cubase)
I hope Steinberg will revise and update features of the ancient midi tools. Sequencers plays super important role in today's music.
Be more specific with stating what you want.
Actually all Steinber/Cubase needs to do is to allow 3rd party midi VST's to be hosted in the MFX slots...

Fantastic tutorial! So many little things in Cubase I haven't found yet!
As always, great job, Greg
Greg, Very helpful. thanks
You read my mind, I was looking at this last night, and thought hmm I need to try this.
And now your helpful video.
Awesome!
This is great. I haven't even scratched the surface of what Cubase can do.
Thanks for the video!
Interesting. This will help make some sequences better than arpache which is what I've been trying lately.
Cheers !!! it drove me mad trying to figure out how to record the sequences 😂😂🤣🤣
Wow - blast from the past forgot about StepDesigner!

It is possible to put notes with the keys? This is much quickly job for piano players

Imagine if the midi inserts had a vst container so you could use any third party midi plugin like this. Crazy that it is missing...
request: larger window ( to see better and without sporadic movement of the scale)

Actually what I would like to see in Cubase is, note display ! Like the one in Logic transport panel.
Interesting.
Would love to see advanced 303 accents in it

Greg isn't doing this video just for you. So you really don't have to use it. I do this with the other midi effects all the time.
Is it possible to follow the chord track?
OMG! Everyone knows how it works. You must make a video about advantages we can get if we're using this plugin instead of the key editor.
Thanks. You know no one gonna use it since there are no presets in them like most of the stock plugins.
Not everyone lives in the preset world. Creating your own sequences is worth the effort and keeps you from sounding like everyone else.
There are presets in Step Designer.
This is fun but the problem with it is that the result is not even remotely plasing, or something that i would use.
What is the point of this when the same thing can be accomplished with the key editor, and in one less step??
