    Pearl terms like “cultured,” “saltwater,” and “akoya” can seem so intimidating at first to a pearl shopper! What pearl terms or topics would YOU like to better understand?

      If there is some bumpy texture near the holes not exactly around the holes but nearby .. does that mean the pearl is fake?

    I found a seller on Etsy who was advertising his pearls as freshwater akoyas. I messaged him, saying that akoyas were only saltwater but he responded, saying that there were oysters of the same variety that grew in fresh water. Is this true?
