Cool video
Great video. Nice job explaining a fun-looking game with lots of options!
Thank you for your thorough tutorial how to play the game. I'm anxiously waiting for my order to arrive so I can put your video to good use and teach others how to play too.
Great clear explanation!
Glad you are enjoying this. It will be our first racing game and card engine building game.
I'll be using your video for our group.
Thanks a lot! Was wondering about it and I'll be checking it out at Spiel for sure.
Great video!
This is 100% the best explanation of how-to-play Heat in RUclips. well done👏
Thanks!
Great explanation. Clear, concise and well presented with plenty of examples. Subscribed. 👍
Thank you so much. ☺️
For slipstream you have to be next to or in one of the spots in the space behind a car. Not only directly behind. Rules: „Slipstreaming is optional and available if you land next to another car, or in a Space behind a car or cars. If you choose to Slipstream, you move 2 Spaces forward.“ space is defined as two spots
Thanks a lot! this video covers all and super well done and put all together! Thanks !
just found the channel,
great video and very detailed.
Great channel as well, keep on going :)
Hope to see more of it
Thank you very much. :)
Beautiful explanation. I've been really enjoying your videos lately. Keep up the fantastic work. :)
Thank you Danijel! And thank you very much for your support! 🙏☺️
@@nithrania-gameinanutshell No problem. Keep up the great work. :)

best how to play vid for Heat so far. Great job
Excellent explanation video! Thank you!
By far the best and clear explanation of Heat
That was a really great explanation video. You are the best!
Thank you. :)
Excellent instructional video - THANK YOU !!
You did described in a correct way about the available boost action you can choose to take in step 5, but it felt to me that you thought its something we just need to remember and to pay a heat for it. But its actually displayed next to each gear level, on the left of the gear number. There is a + and a heat symbol. I just thought it could be good to point this out to players that they get the boost from there, and it doesent just magically exist for everyone. :)
Awesome explination!
Correct, I thought that THAT can actually confuse people a little bit, because you spend Heat even when you shift 2 gears up or down. 🙂
Beautiful game and awesome how to play 👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you. ☺️
Great video, thanks
Great video. Subscribed.
wooaaw! That was a really great explanation video. You are the best! Thank you
Thank you so much. ☺️
Another great video!!
Perfect explanation.thx!
Hello!
Nice video! Thanks!
A few mistakes I noticed if I may:
- At roughly 14:10 you say nobody except you can browse through your discard pile. In fact, it should be nobody including you.
You cannot look at the cards in your own discard pile either.
- At roughly 23:10, when you draw a road condition token that applies to the sector instead of the corner, you do not draw a replacement one for the corner.
There are only as many tokens as the number of corners on the track (you never have a token on the corner AND on the following sector).
- At roughly 25:30, the order of the players on the grid follows the general ranking: The player who has the most points is in Pole Position and the player who has the least points is last on the grid (so that they get the first pick in the Upgrade draft).
Thank you Franck, and congrats on the great game! :)
You're obviously correct in all 3 cases, but let me comment, if I may.
1. Discard pile - in many games the discard pile is not a public knowlegde but you can go through your own one. Maybe a short "not even you" statement would help here. So I assumed I can see my own one. My mistake. :)
2. Road conditions tokens - this is not written very clearly in the rulebook (which is otherwise written really well!). I searched BGG for clarification but there's nothing yet. So again I assumed each "tent space" should have one token. And again, just one more sentence like "one token per corner/segment" would help significantly.
3. And the last mistake is my "mis-speach", I didn't notice that at all. 🙂
Anyway, thank you very much for the feedback, I'll put the corrections to the description of the video.
very well explained
I love "Flamme Rouge". The mechanics are very similar. So this is a must buy for me.
Wouldn't that make owning both redundant
@@hucz They don't play that similar.
Awesome explination! Others were a little unclear. Subscribed.
Thank you. ☺️
Great video. Came here after Rodney to see the Legends.
Thank you ☺️.
Hi, this is the best indepth rules explanation of Heat I've come across. Only one contridiction I've found in the rules which I can yet find an answer for, is regarding the order of drafting Upgrade cards and the placing of Weather/Road tokens. Page 6 of Advanced Rules, state as you advised, to choose Upgrade cards after preparing (placing) Weather/Road tokens, so players can customise their car effectively to handle a specific race. But, then on page 8 (in the Championship System section), it states to follow the order of setup as listed on the Special Event card from top to bottom. Top, requiring players to Upgrade first, and then after dealing with Sponsership cards and the Press corner, (at the bottom) to finally place Weather/Road tokens accordingly on the board. If you know the answer that would be great. Keep up the great vids
Thank you very much. :)
This section is from the Championship system, and to be honest I haven't found a clarification on this. Maybe it makes sense thematically, as teams come to the race location, they must develop their cars before they show up in that location, and the actual weather conditions are not known until the race day. So, thematically, I would follow the Special Event card procedure. :)
I know that I have playtested this game approx 18 months ago, but it sure have evolved into a beautiful game!!! I want it!!!!
Looks fantastic, and plays fantastic too! 😊
@@nithrania-gameinanutshell I would love to see a video of the game played with 6 players.
@@SlotraceDK Maybe we will try it sometimes during the X.mas period. :) Maybe a championship! :)
Merci 🙏 tout est bien expliqué
This is the first Days of Wonder game I'll be sure to pick up at Essen in a while.
Thank you for this awesome video. You explain the rules pretty clearly.
I have one doubt though.
At 23:36 you say you have to put a weather token in every space on the board game.
I think you have to place a token on every corner. That's all. When revealing it, if it has a double arrow drawing then you have to move it to the sector weather slot since it doesn't affect just the corner but the whole sector. The corner weather slot remains empty.
Am I right?
Thank you again.
Thank you. ☺️ And yes, you're right, and this small error is already mentioned in the description of the video. ☺️
hi Branislav. Thank you for the video. Two questions if I may: 1.Does adrenaline's "+1" speed adds to my total speed when checking corners speed limits? 2.The boost effect available in "react" step - is that what the "+" and "fire" symbols mean next to each gear number on player boards? thanks, cheers :D
1. Yes, Adrenaline increases the speed for corners!
2. Yes, that's what they mean... although it's not very clear. :)
@@nithrania-gameinanutshell thanks again :D it's weird though that they didn't write that in Adrenaline section. Thankfully they did write ntotes about other actions (Slipstream=NO, boost=YES), cheers !!!
Hi Branislav, thank you for this video. I only have one question. Why wouldn’t the car that stops in a space behind two cars in the lane in front of it slipstream in front of the car closest to the racing line? If the logic is that they’re all moving at the same time, then it seems to me that slipstream should apply in that instance as well.
Thank you,
Jonathan
Thanks
Thx for the perfect video, i still didnot understand what is the usage of basic upgrade cards in core game, how to use them or do they have a use?
They are simply NOT counted as the basic SPEED cards. That's important for BOOST effects for example. And one additional starting Heat card can be very helpful.
"Speed 5" is easy to understand - you can move faster.
"Speed 0" can be very important in slow corners, where the speed limit in the corner is let's say 3 or 2. You can use a "2" card (or "3") and the "0" card, cross the corner in the 2nd gear, and then in the next turn you can jump to 4th gear and use 4 cards on the long straight. If you would only use one card (e.g. "3") in the 1st gear, next turn you can only jump to 3rd gear and you can already lose some pace to your opponents.
Hope it helps. 🙂
@@nithrania-gameinanutshell so basicly they are speed cards , but not just for boost effect they dont count right?
Correct! :)
For weather module, will each space have a modifier, or will all corners have a modifier and only sectors will be modified if the corner token has a line?
No, not all spaces will have a token. For each corner, draw a token and based on its type place it either in the corner or the sector space. Then move to the next corner/sector, etc. So - only one token "per sector" - either in the sector or in the corner.
Thanks for the video.
I have a question: the 3 Basic advance cards . What they do ? They don’t give speed and in the advance rules we take out of the game. So what are the purpose of this cards ?
Thanks for you help
Well, they don't need to be called "upgrades" to be honset. They are NOT considered as "speed" cards, so when you play a "Stress card" and start flipping cards, you discard these cards (0 and 5). They only give you the "standard" speed of 0 and 5. I think the reason they are called "advanced" is that these are the onse that are replaced by the real advanced cards.
They do give a speed of either 0 or 5. You can play them out of your PLAYING hand using the speed value on them. However, if they are drawn from your DRAW deck due to the requirements of the STRESS card, they are immediately placed in the discard pile.
They give speed when ypu play them from your hand.
Only when revealing them for stress they are discarded without any effect.
The values of 5 and 0 are really important because the are the fastest and the slowest cards in your deck, allowing you to do stuff none of the other cards can do.
Hi, For what in the normal game are the ugrade cards good ? Does they give 5 ans 0 Speed ? or how they work ?
Well, they don't need to be called "upgrades" to be honset. They are NOT considered as "speed" cards, so when you play a "Stress card" and start flipping cards, you discard these cards (0 and 5). They only give you the standard speed of 0 and 5.
8:39 Can you use +1 cool down from Adrenaline if you're in 3rd or 4th gear?
Yes, you can!
The Game is available in stores RIGHT NOW!!! Go buy it people!!!
Clarification on Garage Module card: 4 wheel drive +++
I assume the +++ means this works like the standard stress card but instead of drawing 1 extra card you draw 3 times from the player deck.
Is that your understanding?
Correct! You have a speed of 4, plus 3 more cards from stress! Plan it well! :)
Hi. Im not sure where you live. But im coming to live in Belgrade for a year or so. Can we catch up? How can i privatly get my email address to you?
Great vid! Didnt care for Flam R BUT this looks waaay more fun. The question is, did you enjoy it? How many legends is recommended for solo? And finally, with say a full pack of cars, (solo, you vs all legends) how long does a 1 lap race take?
Thanks! Solo vs. all legends - full race in 50 mins. :) Check it out here, although only in Slovak language. :)

There's absolutely no reason not to play with all legends - they're so easy to move, excellent system. I absolutely LOVE the game! :)
I don’t know. The beauty of FR was its elegance. This looks like they are polluting that elegance with too many rules. Not saying it is complex, just getting a bit far away from what FR great for me.
@@radioactiveali4619 FR is elegant but too simple, this looks 100x more interesting to me
@@radioactiveali4619 this doesnt look complex. I see it as simple as a gateway game.
@@jfducusin7186 I specifically said it wasn’t complex. Just getting away from what made FR great for me, namely elegance.
Can you slipstream more than one car during a round?
Well, depends on what you mean by this question.
You can only use the slipstream ONCE during your round, so you can slipstream max. 2 spaces forward, but you can overtake more than one car by this move.
However, you can not slipstream one time, and if you end the move behind another car then slipstream again in the same round.
Can i do Step Slipstream before step react ??
No. You can only use slipstream after you use all the effects in the react step.
great video - thanks - this is no a BUY for me!
How is this in solo play? I wish there were a solo playthrough video (IN ENGLISH).
Fantastic! It's so easy to move all other 5 legends in a solo game, they are unpredictable like humans, and quite difficult to beat. :) I highly recommend it as a solo game!
I am still unclear about react action in base game
React is just one step in the timing of the entire turn.
First, you set your gear, choose cards, pay heat (if you shift up or down by 2), and move.
Then, you can "react" to the situation on the track - (in any order) you can use the cooldown effects, you can boost, you can use the adrenaline if you're in the last position(s) (that's additional +1 speed, addt'l cooldown), etc.
Only after you finish all your "reactions" you can Slipstream.
And only after the slipstream you pay for exceeding the corner speed limits.
It's just a predetermined sequence of actions on your turn, in a specific order.
So Ivor Flamme Rouge for its elegance. This started off interesting with some nice tweaks but I think it got too far away from that elegance by the end
