The chassis looks like it was in a flood a long time ago. Really needs a ton of cleaning. Shango on a recent video had a '38 Airline with both transformers bad. Got to see some smoke from the power transformer. That Airline was probably headed for the dump by the looks of the cabinet but made an interesting and thorough resurrection video. Your cleaning this one up will be a major undertaking Don.
Steve, definitely more effort than I first thought. The old chassis is a nasty mess for sure. Just got the tuning capacitor squared up after 20+ hours of rust/crud removal and alike. Best, Don
Thanks for showing us the step-by-step disassembly, I know the ultrasonic cleaner will clean up that tuner nicely, you have your work cut out for you and looking forward to the next videos.
Thank you for the kind words, it’s appreciated. Hope to get back to it this coming week if time permits and cut through more of the nasty crud. Thank you again for following along. Best, Don
Hi Don. That's going to be great when you work your magic on it. Here is hoping everything checks out good. As always my friend. I liked and shared. All my very best to you and yours.
Josh - great to hear from you. I left the retaining clips in place and loosened the one so we it wouldn’t fall out. I need to find a good place for it and get it off the top of my bench before… Hope this finds you doing well. All the best. Don
Great video, do you have a repair service, do you repair service, I have the model that you repaired. I can't find a antique radio repair place in R.I.
Daniel, sorry for my belated response as I’ve been tied up on some other… I don’t repair anymore other than a few in my collection as time allows. Check the Antique Radio Forum at: antiqueradios.com/resources/Repair_and_Restoration/ I hope this helps and you’re successful getting it restored and playing. All the best. Don
That’s one cruddy chassis. Hate it when they get like that. Tuner looks awful, interested in seeing what the ultrasonic can do for it. The magic keyboard decal is looking really great now. Waiting for the next vid.
I love to watch you restore this old equipment. Thanks for braking down the steps and explaining them to us.
Glad you enjoyed it Ryan. Just posted the short version of cleaning up the tuning capacitor. Best, Don
Thanks you for this video. I am fascinated with these restorations.
Glad you enjoyed it. I just posted the tuning capacitor clean up. All the best. Don

You bet Ken. I just posted the tuning capacitor cleanup, definitely took some time and effort to get it back in shape. Best, Don
I’m ready for another awesome series from the master of his art. Thanks Don!

Yep, the chassis is one dirty… Much appreciated on the waterslide, etc. All the best Jim. Don
did you find that radio in a swamp and bring it home in a wheelbarrow
Love how they paint the mud on them.
Looks like an old barn find that was pulled from a swamp. Best, Don
Wish it was mud, I would just wash it off. Looks like someone covered the dirty chassis with varnish or alike. Best, Don
Good one Don. Thanks for look!
You are very welcome John. Thanks for watching. Best, Don
