"Thy next foe is...''
An epic game developed by Team Ico.
Follow the adventures of Wander and his horsey, Agro, as they go on a Boss Rush to save a sleeping girl! Epic battles and music are involved.
This pretty game is simple: navigate from Point A to Point B, solve a "puzzle", defeat the boss, repeat. Along the way, you can collect fruits to increase Health and lizard tails to increase Stamina. There are a lot of buttons to press, but it isn't all that bad. PS2 version is kinda meh since the PS2 can't handle the game's awesomeness (read: framerate goes down the toilet). If played on an emulator (or the PS3 version I think), the game runs at full 60FPS...or something.
For this playthrough, I go through the game on Normal difficulty from a clean file. I sorta take my time in going to the next destination to stop for fruits and lizard tails. I also get lost along the way. I know I can improve on navigating and on some fights. It's been awhile since I played this, so go easy on me. -_- There may be some inconsistency (locations...movements...whatever.) I'm trying to look good, yo! Sometimes, camera doesn't like me. I ran into a glitch where Agro and Wander got stuck. When I quit the game, the game pretty much got stuck on the loading screen. Thank goodness I saved. Before going to Colossus 16, I do the Secret Garden climb by abusing a glitch only available in the PS2!NTSC-U(?) version: diagonal jumping = no stamina lost. Normally, it would require multiple playthroughs to even get to the top.
Oh, and...ending...sucks.
Also available for the PS3 as part of a collection with Ico and in HD (outside of Japan. Japan has Ico and Shadow of the Colossus separately.) Supposedly, Ico is pretty epic, but I wouldn't know since I never played it (madness. I know.)
Related: Colossus 5 = BEST. BOSS. EVER!
Unrelated: I like Wander's hairband. o_o
classic game of all time! =)
Still my favorite game, and the single best game ever made in my opinion ❤
One of the few games I never completed.
@@TheGoatLocker same here and another one of my favorite games as well! ;)
@@TheGoatLocker love the soundtrack BTW! =D
Oh very much so, yes!
Simply among one of the greatest games ever created.
The legendary starting music is ❤❤❤❤❤ i have not a words for this
I played the demo many many times starting in the Summer of 2005 & continuing right up to the North America released in October. It was an agonizing wait for the full game to come out as I was already obsessed just from playing & fully exploring every inch of the map that the demo would allow. This game (along with "ICO") was the most unique experience you could have on the PS2.
Fumito Ueda legend

Have cardboard version of ico and this masterpiece.. not bundle.. ico was really hard to get back in the day.
Obvious question - if that land was forbidden, then WHY did they still have a bridge intact to get to it??
What I think is that It implies the culture of whatever society exists beyond the bridge does not need to bar off the land to prevent entry, based on the narration at the beginning and the confrontation at the end of the game we can infer that traveling into the land is considered some sort of extreme taboo and the society beyond the bridge most likely lives by some sort of religious code, the dogma of which usually does a good enough job of keeping people away from the land. Add the fact that the only thing that can hurt the colossi is the magical sword, and the role of the colossi as guardians becomes much easier during a usual trespass, meaning that any trespassers that make it across the bridge will not last long. (assuming they even make it past Dormin who seems to have possibly been preparing to attack wander at the beginning of the game before he realized he was in possession of the sword). This is just my personal interpretation, and Ueda himself stated he left things vague on purpose so people could draw their own conclusions. It’s also totally possible that the people of the games current time period don’t have the technological or mechanical capacity to destroy the bridge, since the entire forbidden land is filled with the ruins of some destroyed civilization. The people living beyond the bridge could be descendants of the survivors of this destroyed civilization who have lost access to the knowledge required to conduct an operation like the dismantlement of a bridge. Again, things are purposely left up in the air to allow the mind to wander and come to its own conclusions based on the information provided. This game is a work of art and no detail small or large was added unless it clearly advanced the themes of the story.
PS2 original > Remake.
Dormin's motivation seems pretty (colos)sus.
