People who tell me to “mind my own business” as I don’t live in the US don’t understand the big picture. But even if there wasn’t a global crisis, watching the people I care about, my neighbors to the south, have their rights being stripped away is horrifying! So yes…we cheer you on! The US is one of the most watched nations in the world, largely because everyone knows that American politics does absolutely effect the rest of the world in some way. My adult daughter and I watched Michelle Obama in tears from Australia. Her speech was up there as one of the most inspiring speeches by a woman in my lifetime.

There have been some brilliant speeches over the last couple of days, including Barack's, but hers is going to take some beating. It is the finest speech that has been presented at this convention thus far, and among the best presented at any such event; and it will go down in the annals of political history as such.

Something about seeing Michelle give that speech brought tears to my eyes. Our black mothers and sisters have been so degraded and stepped on by this country...but to see her right there, in her hometown and deliver that speech that the whole country was watching..... it was BEAUTIFUL, a moment in history.
