2k14 and 15 were the best storylines.Thats my opinion because instead of making you live a dumb movie-like series of events they and then the cutscenes ending when you get into the league,they focused on you playing and all the endorsements and fun things coming on the side and you actually choosing how you want things to play out.
I loved the 2k17 part with the whole OJ thing. I hope they do something like that again. Maybe like a customizable sidekick? Like the player could make his sidekicks build. If I were a PG I may want a Rebounding center or slashing SF . Just an idea.

U don't look at Michael b. as hooper. 14 imo was the best because they kept it basketball and wasn't making some lame cinematic movie. 15 was also great aside from the teammate voices but also kept it basketball and both were long-lasting stories. I'd never put that as a top 3 in best stories. That's DELUSIONAL. But it's your opinion.
There are a few I really enjoyed I actually enjoyed 2k19 because of the g league aspects. 17 was 😎 for the dynamic Duo takeover, 15 for the endorsements 16 because of the high-school experience 20 for the builder I actually like the pie charts but I wish they had a more speed if your a shooter. I honestly wouldn't mind If it took a while to get to NBA and you started in junior high. One thing I always thought would be cool is to have a fab five scenario where an NBA team is wanting to kind of clean house or an expansion team goes young and you can help build your personal fictional all-star team complete with nicknames and special skills they bring to the team I know a bit unrealistic but fun.
I never understood why the off-season isn’t a major thing. Searching for houses, your players life style, also they should add sports shows after major events. First take debating if your player should win MVP. Can your team win the chip.

High school 3 star prospect work your way up , your choice between college or overseas have a sort story for each choice but nothing cheesy depending on play is your status in draft. Start draft process, interview, endorsements of top player, work outs, fame, draft combine, draft please make there a option for legitimate draft experience ( by legitimate you don’t have choice where you go based of real life draft that season). or choice of your favorite team. Summer league, helps determine roster but if top 5 pick your starting for your team your drafted to so stop making every persons have to work their way up in the rooster unless they are a low draft pick. Maybe a short version of pre season. Then season starts have it kinda of a story mode for season but let it play out 82 games don’t shorten or cut it to 8 games with more cut scenes make it a decent mix. So like I’m previous 2ks make endorsement moments cut scenes so it’s more realistic like in previous 2ks, have meeting with team owner, keep team practices maybe make it more realistic and not bum ass drills. Bring back connections with teammates and other players through out. Then second season all straight play and stuff and just endorsement deals. Boom perfect 2k
About dunking on Harris it depends what u do after if u help him up or celebrate if u help him up in ur first game u play for the Lakers and there are more chances of that team signing u and if u celebrate it’s the Mavericks instead of Lakers
Alot of people forget about nba 06 the Life. The first game that had a my career type story. Gameplay was ohhh but that story mode was dope at the time
My Fav 2k MyCareer was 2k15 back then when 2k was Simple no Nicknames,No Bs just Simple you had to prove that your Underrated and becoming the greatest player alive
2k19 has no story but the prelude I wish they'd make it an actual story not just constant game after game. 2k17 ACTUALLY had cut scenes with a story after the draft .
My favorites in order: 2K14: simply because it was the first next-gen game I played and the first 2K game I played since 2K4… absolutely amazing experience. 2K17: that cringy “Orange Juice” stuff aside, a great and simple storyline that actually made sense. Also the last Mycareer that didn’t have “the city” which I believe has been an annoying, colossal failure. 2K15: though it took forever to become fun, this was a solid MyCareer experience. The voice acting was atrocious, but the cutscenes were overall enjoyable. Every Mycareer since 2k18 has been absolutely abysmal. If I were in charge of 2K, I’d hire an entire new staff of writers. Simplify the storyline and stick to the basics (ie basketball… honestly, who the hell wants to be a music and fashion guru? So moronic 😒). Also completely scrap the city. I hate it. It was a good idea before 2k18 but it simply doesn’t work. It’s not necessary. Get back to what worked from 2k14-2k17 and build on that. Here’s hoping that one day, they will
