The obsession with picking alrounders has led to this situation. India could have easily played Shubhman Gill in place of Reddy, and Prasidh Krishna in place of Washington Sundar to boost the pace bowling.
Rohit has the backing of the Mumbai lobby whether he performs or not. Either Kohli should be brought back as Captain or Bumrah should be made captain. In the earlier BGT, when Kohli and Rohit got injured and had to go back to India, Rahane and Pujara with the youngsters won the BGT series.
This is the difference between India team and Australia team. Aussies has strategic thinking and excellent planning and execution. In Indian team, individual aura is important, rather than a team. No planning and only Captain's buddies get the backing and place in the team. Even if the Indian captain does not perform or lazy, it does not matter. Whereas the Aussie Captain himself bowls 140K+ speed and excellent strategies in placing the bowlers or bring back the bowlers at the right time.
And steve smith too gets back his form while kohli and rohit still struggle. 30-80 overs is best period to bat on and kohli again gets out for nothing ball in the same period..just normal 6th stump ball which he could have left.So even patience and concentration too is out of form😅😅..and ofcourse rohit no need to mention..he is even worst than virat.

Ashwin chose to walk away to show his displeasure about how the team is being run. Bundle up Rohit & Gambhir and toss them for good after this series.
It's not coach but captain who take on field decisions. When we have a odi captain as test captain, this is what you will get. Two series and we throw coach, while many test series rohit has below average performance and we stick with him

What I wrote prior to the start of the Test - Drop Rohit, failure in 2019 series, failure in 2021 series, failure till now in 2024 series. Team should be Rahul, Jaiswal, Gill, Kohli, Pant, Jadeja, Sundar, Bumrah, Deep, Harshit Rana, Prasidh Krishna. Need to take 20 wickets. Reddy is good but his 40 runs aint cutting it. Need another fast bowler to take 20 wickets.
Biggest mistake not taking pujara and rahane by tagging them as old while rohit and kohli are still young😅😅😊pujara did well in ranji as well.. somewhere i read sachin played his last ranji match in 2013 while virat in 2012😂😂
