I grew up in rural IL and my dad was the highway road commissioner. I loved winter because I got to ride in the plow truck with dad or if it was really deep, the JD road grader with a V-plow mounted on the front. The heaters on the JD graders in the 80's were mounted under the seat. Have fond memories of curling up as a little guy behind the seat between the back glass, warm and toasty for a nap. Flipside is I got beat up in school because my dad was up at 3am clearing the roads so the busses could get thru! Love you videos Mike, thank you for sharing your life with us!
I'd have never believed it if I hadn't seen it. Younger brother has an aim able snow blower, his brother is in range, and he doesn't bury his brother.... you Canadians are way too nice....
When I worked at an IH dealer 30 plus years ago, one of our farmers bought a large rear mounted blower. It was just two large impellers and two discharge chutes. It could handle 8 foot wide and tall drifts. He would hire himself out to the county for $100 an hour. He was using a tractor with a hydrostatic transmission. He backed into the end of a guardrail once and bent one of the impellers. Big repair!
Mike, my cousin and I are long time Farmer's he's retired from it I'm not. Small farming Florida now. I love your videos and yeah you should have! I'm 72 years old and I still have fun but farming is a hard life so go vent. This song has a c on it but it was my wife's phone and I've never changed it she died two years ago of cancer. I ran a trucking business for a while and ran across 94 to Missoula all the time and up to Seattle back to Baltimore. And I had chickpeas for supper the other night maybe they were yours. I think it's awesome you talk about the equipment oh, you demo, and you are just honest and straight forward about it which I love. Karl Hamilton
Snow blowers are awesome! I have a 5' blower on my little Ford compact diesel tractor and am amazed at how much snow it moves. It was one of the best investments I ever made!! The nice thing is it is just gone and I don't have piles of snow to contend with. Take care Mike!
Ha! That's too much fun.Stop it immediately 😂 I'm really looking forward to the upcoming Q&A,especially Ashtyn's story and what the farming is like there
Great video Mike! When I was dairy farming all we had for snow removal was a pick up/plow and a front end loader. Big snows made for a long day! You're a lucky man, Ashtyn is a hard worker!
Mike, great video, I can't imagine having to deal with that much snow. I would enjoy using that blower for at least an hour maybe two and then I get tired of it but I hope it helps you. You are so lucky, Ashton is a wonderful beautiful person what a delight to listen to. I know it's a little cold up there in the winter but farming is a great life even when there is snow involved When there is snow involved. Thank you Keep up the great work!
That is definitely a great idea doing an Ashtyn video,it would be great this coming planting season if we could see some videos from her perspective along with yours.
Mike don't slow down with the videos, the everyday mundane stuff you do, you might think it's boring and we wouldn't want to see it. In reality it's super interesting to us, and the way you present it is really entertaining. In current world it's exactly what we need, being back In lockdown here in Northern Ireland. Thanks
I’m happy to see someone with a Fendt tractor use Schulte equipment. Having owned a few Woods bat wings, I think a Schulte FX1800 and xh-1000, I think they are the bees knees haha. I’ve got a front mount rdx117 that’s sat in my building three years. No snow here. Anyway, not much Schulte on YT other then their own channel. Nice plow on your tractor!
You should put some plastic trailer liner on the face of that snowplow, it keeps the snow from sticking to the blade and makes it easier to push.. The blower is awesome!!
Good day Mike .This is the time of the year to fix , reset ,make plans for next year . Not very exciting.😒 but it must be done .Take care . See Ya .👍👍😊✌
the first time Mike says "thanks for following me around" in any video, insert Anchorman "I don't believe you", cause that's never the actual end of the video lol
Hey Mike, it would be interesting to see some of the work or upgrades Fendt Ideal is making to the combines. Your niche is having new and big farm equipment. Maybe, you can have a tour of the combines being worked on???
You really want to mess with him bury a bucket of red paint somewhere you know he will be with the blower. When that red snow comes out he’s sure to freak out. My uncles did this once to a buddy and still talk about it decades later! 🤣
Hahaha my brother would have left me to walk too lol 😂 awesome snow machine Mike I love to play with that for a couple of days it would be awesome to here to here about ya wife and where’s she’s from it looks like she’s not as camera shy as she was during harvest time have a great day Mike 👍
With Alberta’s recent updated restrictions on many things including family gatherings this Christmas most likely followed by similar steps in Saskatchewan I have a video request for Mike. “Home Alone With Ashtyn, Mike & Barkly” 🤣📽🍷🎥🎁📹🌲📸🍷📷😂
Reduce the angle of the blade will make it wider to cover the width of the tractor. Just need to set a stop to set the maximum angle with a little less angle.
Boy seeing that rollover plow brings back some old memories, years ago we were plowing the ramp with a big old Oshkosh where we parked the aircraft and was toward the end of the ramp, when I gave the signal to roll the plow and I started to turn and discovered the ramp was a solid sheet of ice under the snow and we did a couple of 360's to our surprise.
It's right about the pto,s spinning backwards on the front, that's why front power harrows are mounted from the back end of there gearboxes to make the harrow itself spin the correct way!!!!👍🏻🔥😊😊🙏🏻🇬🇧
Do you know Joni Mitchell? i always heard she grew up on a Canadian prairie farm somewhere. i been watching your vids for around a year and find them quite entertaining, so thank you for the work you do in making them! Happy Holidays and a safe profitable and healthy new year!
🤷 I don't know.. But here's a few things I don't do... I never ask ppl to sub my channel (with a few exceptions on first few vids) , I never click bait, and I don't promote any one colour or anything for that matter? 😂 I also just started to take this RUclips thing seriously this spring, so I am only half a year in or so.. . Could all be factors.. But regardless of that, as much as I love all of you guys (and I mean that) I could careless about the "number" of subs I have... So many RUclipsrs push and push and push to get their count up and for what? Nah man, that just ain't me.. Subs don't define me nor will they ever!... But thank you all for taking interest in what I do 🙂 Oh, and Merry Christmas to you guys! 🙂🎄
Love your honest pros and cons reviews. The other RUclipsrs seem beholden to possible sponsorships and demo opportunities, and reluctant to criticize. Also Millenial Farmer has his wife doing the editing, plus knowledgeable dad, cute kids and dogs. Need more Ashtyn, plus any pets...
I have seen my father and grandfather acting like this when they got new toys on the farm. Remember my dad driving the 7710 around. I think cause it was the first new tractor they ever had I think. Cant remember if the 7130 was new. Only reason dad got the case was for mother. She didnt want a clutch.
Hey Mike, You guys just get on with it when it snows...in the U.K we grind to a compete shutdown. Is that your Brother with the 930 the same brother that pilots the air tractor? Stay safe, Dave

When any conversation related to supper is brought up you drop everything and make things happen. 😂🥗🥙🍜🍰🤣
Agreed!
He does.

Thanks for posting all the fun videos. It would be a blast to work on the farm with you all. Always look forward to when you post a new one.
That was oddly satisfying seeing the snow fly.
Awesome blower looks like fun. Thanks for all your videos Mike.
Snowblowers are beautiful things
Always a pleasure watching you Mike.
Awesome looking snow blower
That was fun. You all seem to always make your job so much fun.
Would love to see how it performs in wet snow(slush). Good video glad your operation allows people to play and learn. Keeps people engaged
I could just here it in Mike's voice, how badly he wanted to go play with the new toy when Brian was driving off 😂😂
Ha! That's too much fun.Stop it immediately 😂
I'm really looking forward to the upcoming Q&A,especially Ashtyn's story and what the farming is like there
Fantastic view of the snow plume against the low sun in the sky!
i remember when i was stationed in Grand Forks, ND the large front snow blowers, one eat a car
Great video Mike! When I was dairy farming all we had for snow removal was a pick up/plow and a front end loader. Big snows made for a long day! You're a lucky man, Ashtyn is a hard worker!
That blower is awesome..it reminds me of the snow guns at the ski slopes..
nice to see ashtyn on the video, great snow blower thanks for the video all
You are happy as a child!😂🤣😂🤣
Here in northern Italy it has been raining for a week!
That thing is crazy.

Hi Ashtyn, we all love you!
Not gonna lie...that thing is a freakin beast man!!😆😆💯💯🤘🤘 Launches the snow!! Nice Job!!
love that hud...lmao drives like me here in Texas
You should try emptying a grain bag with that snow blower and see how much ends in the grain truck. 😂
Schultes makes a grain loading schute
Mike getting all the entendres into his post titles lmao
Mike you never seem to amaze me you make it fun
I know the plow is utilitarian, but I bet that thing would look like a million bucks with a dose of paint on it.
Galvanized, imagine that ;)
Any other sled junkies thinking those snow drifts would be great for "wheelies" on the snowmobiles? 😍
Hmm 97kmh on the gravel road. LOL. Glad I’m not the only one.

Fun video! :) Another good one Mike, thanks!

They polish nicely with use and Saskatchewan snow is seldom sticky enough to be a problem.
That thing will move some snow!!
You still have real winters 👍
Love the snowblower....not much use in Georgia....1” of snow and they shut the state down.
Mic I moved back from Utah to North Ga I was still driving when we get snow.
Good day Mike .This is the time of the year to fix , reset ,make plans for next year . Not very exciting.😒 but it must be done .Take care . See Ya .👍👍😊✌

I have exams and you just take away all the stress! Thanks Mike!

Haha 😃, god job Mike
What? What? What? What? Ah yes, the joy of trying to yell loudly enough to be heard over the tractor.

Your walking because Ashtyn feeds you too well lololol😂😂
Claas Xerion vc would be perfect for that setup

Very awesome! I wish we got snow like that...we just get humidity and mosquitoes...
Thanks Mike!
Heck ya!
That 930 looks just like ours, but we dont run blowers, we run gravel wagons
We just built a new shop ready for our new ideal combines
Thats not really a large blower haha

Thank you for Buying a Schulte SDX-117. Sincerely Hal Carnago VP of Sales & Marketing Schulte Industries Ltd.
Hey no problem, we like it! But rumor has it you have some pretty big mowers or even a high speed disc 🤷😉
@@mikemitchell2554 Mike if you want to try our DHX Disc on Demand Disc Harrow in the Spring we can arrange a demo. Thanks Again for your business.
Nice blower
Slippery.👍
Awesome vid as ever Mike. Is that the 760 I see left outside at about 11:14 in your video?. I thought the old girl would be kept indoors.

Nice blower! WOrks great, very impressive.
So if you hook it up to the front, does it suck instead?
There she blows! Had to.

Any vids of the ice rink ? Always good stuff for a busy guy.

Does the plow have any kind of trip mechanism in case it hits something?
yes give your wife some air time , she's a great worker and person.
YES. We want an Ashtyn video.
I have school but this is worth it🤣
Me to greets from the netherlands
I can't believe it myself.😉
Do you run Michelin tyres on all your equipment?
Nice blade....... do you always snow plough..... never seen you plough before
Great videos Good Sir. Question; Do you and your brothers buy all of your equipment or do you lease some of it?
Both
Put it on the front, you'll like it much better, fact of the matter, is it's really fun!!
How is Mike not bigger than the Millennial Farmer
