I can only speak for myself, but the current state of tech definitely changed my life in a very chaotic way. I was in the midst of transitioning from a non-technical role to a technical one, and then the post-Covid job market and the AI boom happened. I'm lucky to be financially secure, but I'm almost at the point where I will stop being as selective with job postings

Do you mind elaborating on what you mean by “I will stop being as selective with job postings”? What jobs have you been targeting now?

Pretty good video. Compared to most who create videos on this topic everything you mentioned sounds very reasonable and to the point. I don't detect a hint of bullshit. Most make these videos because either because they are trying to sell you a course or are in experienced and are trying to sound credible by sharing an opinion they themselves have heard from other RUclipsrs or on X. Keep up the good work.

lol....so a 22 year old kid is going to tell you what the state of tech is all about? I have been in tech for 22 years.....its not going anywhere....It transitions....as it did 20 years ago and 15 years ago and 10 years ago. Large language Learning models do not replace engineers. This is silly.

I agree that tech isn’t going anywhere. That’s why I’m currently working in tech. This video is angled for aspiring young people in tech who are trying to navigate a landscape that’s constantly evolving. The strategies I share are precisely for the transition we’re currently experiencing.

Unfortunately companies today have all the power. There is a supply of experienced engineers currently looking for employment or even looking to leave one job for another. So companies now have their pick of experienced engineers. Someone with about 10 years of relevant experience and degrees will most likely get interviews compared to a graduate or someone with less than 3 years of experience.

you're spot on. in the future, senior roles with lower pay are going to be the norm. If you're a young gun in the service industry, consider making a quick getaway and jumping ship to the production industry for better opportunities.

Yeah I actually think having a more specific field to apply your CS knowledge to can create more fulfillment for you (if that field is something you’re passionate in). I personally love building products that utilize AI. I think the biotech and healthcare tech space is fascinating and will only continue to grow as we have increasingly more wearable tech
