  • As we wait to return from our break, we're back this week with an extended mailbag episode to answer listener questions, including:
Is it better to have an election in the summer or the winter?
Are the Liberals still the "natural governing party"?
Which past party leader who lost an election might have had a better shot at a different time?
Plus answers to questions on projection models, polling methods and more!
This episode was recorded on July 3. We'll be back with a regular episode next week!

I just returned from a two-week silent retreat. No talk, no smartphone, no news from the outside world at all. I found the whole experience healing and nourishing. And like you, Phillippe, I am an obsessive follower of news. The retreat taught me I can let go of it for a while. How liberating!

Thanks guys for great pod again. Would u discuss the possibility of NDP/Liberals dropping their MPs so there wont be vote split in next Election? Do they have a chance to get re-elected like that? Something like Macron pulled off in France and UK? Im freaking out over that possibility..I cant take 4 more yrs of Liberals/NDP.

The CAQ thought Marquette was in play and it was the one riding where the PLQ improved their showing in 2022. I think that was because it's a PLQ stronghold and the new candidate from 2018 was an incumbent in 2022.
Interestingly, QS is very weak in this riding even though it's become a Projet Montréal stronghold in local elections.
