If you’re doing a vehicle, you’ll use udim. If it’s a placeable, you could still use udim and then normal map it if you wanted to but if you’d rather use a texture image then you should be able to use a normal layer or material, however, you may need to edit export settings so it knows to export the diffuse/color texture.
UV mapping is one of the hardest parts during the modeling process, if you haven’t, I’d highly suggest watching the UV mapping tutorials from BlenderGuru.
