I’m sorry to say that I have because I took somebody’s word, I did not know too well but yours is in great shape! I have the same coin and if mine looked as nice as yours, I would get it regraded! Good luck my friend……….
I’ve seen a similar NGC error like that where on one submission of a group of coins, two coins were mislabeled as the other (a dealer I know has both coins - he was the one that submitted them). Also another dealer here on RUclips (Ben the Coin Geek) has a few videos with mislabeled slabbed coins.
Very nice toned Morgan! I have never owned one personally but have hear of this occurring before. I actually was just watching a video someone in the YT community posted on this the other day, it was on John Hartley's NGC video he recently posted. Nice coin though and thanks for sharing!
I don't have any coins yet have been incorrectly attributed but I have heard of other coins that have for a minute there I thought it might say CC that's one of them ☝️🤠👍
I thought so too. It is so hard to show the toning off properly. Never looks as good on the video as it does in hand. I am sure you know how that is! :)
Did the same shit with quarter and a nickel. I think they just got the slabs mixed up Funny though 'it there job to be the best 'smartest 'and it sure as hell ain't cheap. Then again 'where did you get it??
Did you ever find anything out if not look at the case and see if it looks like it's been tampered with someone might have switched it out. That is a unusual situation it looks like it was slabbed with a 1881 S over S, Yet there's a O in there thats why I say look at the case. I'm not very familiar with the varieties off the top of my head, you can look the Coin up on the NGC website by serial number to find out more about it though. Also be careful showing the serial numbers, people make fakes by using the serial numbers. There's a lot of scammers out there just be careful, I would maybe cover the serial number on high dollar coins. That looks funky though check to see if the sides look opened then glued back ia couple spots.
The slab looks like it has not been tampered with. On the NGC website they say this is an 1881 S. They also show a picture of the coin in slab. It is clearly by their picture an O mintmark. Very unusual for this to get by all the quality control checks. Thanks for all the good information. I appreciate it.
@@Ontario100 wow that's pretty weird if thats what they show, then it's like you say lack of quality control on that one. What matters is they have the same coin that they slabbed.
I think it was just poor quality control in this case. If you look on the NGC website, you see this exact coin with the O mintmark in an S holder. Thanks for watching and commenting! 😀
@@Ontario100 maybe an error from the grading company will hold a wierd value in 30 years lol. If you dont mind. What was the retail on that? I'm a year into the hobby but have zero Morgan's or anything from new orleans mint or carsin city

I wonder if something like a slab error has any additional value. There are probably collectors for them. Thanks!
I have the exact same thing. Same year, same mark, same miss issue. Not the only like that i own.

Thank you and thanks for the lead to John Hartley's channel. He has some nice coins and videos too!
Super crazy I have not seen that before but nice COIN!!!
Yeah, first for me too. Thanks for commenting and subscribing. Just subbed your channel as well. Thanks!
Hmmm...........have not seen this problem before but it needs to be resolved.
I have also one dollar morgan 1881 O, what.is the present value?
That's a beautiful morgan
I would send that off to NGC to get check out just to be sure it’s a mistake on there end.
I don't have any coins yet have been incorrectly attributed but I have heard of other coins that have for a minute there I thought it might say CC that's one of them ☝️🤠👍
I have one thats an o 1881 morgan, very nice coin you have as well
Thanks for watching and commenting! 😀
Unless someone could crack open that slab without cracking it and slip that Orleans Mint coin in there.
Very nice coin in a case I bought at an estate auction! Paid a whopping $11 30 years ago
Those were the days! Thanks!!
Yeah it happens more than you think sir.
Very nice. If you ever interested in selling it or trading, let me know. I’d love to have that coin.
Thanks, man. 😀
I have this coin please email me @xx27rayanne27xx@gmail.com
One of a kind!!!
Do not know why they graded it and S,as it is worth around 45-50 bucks.
Is this a bad thing? Because I would think it’s kind of cool, fun to have an error from ngc
Oh no, I love my slab error! Thanks for watching. 😀
Subsequent post aside, without proof, your coin as a graded mistake, WOW, slab label?
I just saw one from PCGS and the same story; the mint mark was wrong on the label. LOL.
That would have to be a rare occurrence.
Very nice toned Morgan....big misunderstanding😂😂😂
Yes. Probably does not happen often.
I have the same coin what is it worth
Probably $75-$90 in today's market
keep it. it's probably worth more.
i have Morgan Silver Dollar 1888 O What is its value?
1888-O is a common date Morgan. It would all depend on the condition. Enjoy it!
Nice Morgan
I have same O mint mark ..i want to sell it
yes it's not a common thing but it happens
I have a 1880 ms 63 s how much is it worth.
An 1880-S in MS 63 is worth in the neighborhood of $90 according to PCGS Coinfacts.
It happens
:["Yes i believe i've grading companies can make mistakes; they're ran by people and some of them may not be honest."]
I've never owned one but I've seen a handful of mislabeled slabs - both PCGS and NGC. And great toned Morgan by the way! Looks better than a 63 to me!
I thought so too. It is so hard to show the toning off properly. Never looks as good on the video as it does in hand. I am sure you know how that is! :)
@@Ontario100 Do I ever! I can tell by looking at it in the video that you have a really nice one! Good grab!
Thanks! There are a number of good looking toned Morgans on eBay right now, but I am leery of buying raw coins these days.
Did the same shit with quarter and a nickel. I think they just got the slabs mixed up
Funny though 'it there job to be the best 'smartest 'and it sure as hell ain't cheap. Then again 'where did you get it??
I bought it at a coin show. I am pretty sure the dealer had not noticed the mistake.

If the O has a line crossing in the middle space then it's a O over S
Thanks !
Looks as if they took out one coin an replaced it somehow
