Kraftwerk definitely deserve the respect that is due them. They were producing music like no one else was at the time. Dopplereffekt are a great band continuing in the spirit of Kraftwerk but taking it that notch higher.
no, this is electro.... genuine detroit electro. not to be confused with electro-house or electroclash. for more electro, check out Aux 88, Drexciya, Godfather, Aaron Carl, etc.
larry tee was considered the figurehead, and he was major gay, i wouldn't say electroclash was bad until it got copied and commercialised a few years ago
I didn't mean to imply that. I was merely saying that many musicians started making electronic music because of the success of Kraftwerk. No hard feelings.
I am so ignorant, I admit it... I thought this was German, not kraftwerk, I know them pretty well, but this sounds pretty German to me, but no, they're from Detroit! I think it makes them even cooler! 5 stars...
Doppler is great, so are Kraftwerk. But I prefer listening Doppler, very far. (in fact, Zyklus is my favorite) There is million people inspired by Kraftwerk. Doppler is one of the rare really good. You can ear a lot of electro shit inspired by Doppler. Just have an ear to Drexciya, Japanese Telecom or der Zyklus. Kraftwerk were innovators, but they didn't have the funky side. So I'm glad that Kraftwerk created this sound, and that Doppler knows how to rock it better than the master.
maybe you should think about eric satie and some other icons and pioneers in electronic music before you push kraftwerk so much up. there was quite a lot of stuff even back then. just because kraftwerk was very well known does not mean without them there would not be any electronic music like this these days....
some people would consider this detroit techno as it comes from detroit and it's oldschool sounding like old juan atkins productions imo so it could be called techno but it's electro for most of people. dunno, it's confusing i would say this song is techno all other dopplereffekt songs are electro :D
Maybe I'm in for a grilling here but this tune is immense. Its almost like Kraftwerk decided to get some beats and pace. Lovin' it :D (I'm entirely aware this is Dopplereffekt and not Kraftwerk!)
@scottishnationalist but what about ambient musicians like brian eno? theyre incredibly underrated even though their influence on electronic music is vast :)

Without Kraftwerk there wouldn't be ANY electronic music nowadays. They inspired thousands of people to make their own electronic stuff.

This track is the shit. I love it. They should have had a better video concept though.

No hard feelings.
Sounds much older than it is.
am i dead?
@wasy35 i mean it says right there.........
i love dopplereffekt, but this video is like a boring powerpoint presentation about satelites set to music.
@kmne11528 so you're comparing 2 completely different genres, and complaining about one? great job....
btw, this is not the best track of Doppler ...

OMG these guys totally sound like Kraftwerk. It's almost as if they were competing against each other. In a competition.
