im the proud owner of 3 trash hats (year 2), and ive never worn a different one.
I have a personal head canon on how the trash hat is a thing. When rooting through trash, the player will get really angry and yeet the lid into the air. It then lands on their head, its a perfect hat, so they keep it.

You can also get batteries in the mail if you are friends with Pam or Kent! Rain totem is also unlocked at foraging level 9!

i’ve watched so many stardew challenge videos and none of them have been as interesting to me as this one and it totally inspired me to remake it! for like almost 2 hours last night i worked through the hat wiki tab and i think with the most insane luck possible you could get 65-70 hats in one year. i’m not done with the planning yet and the run will probably take me a while but i’ll be sure to come back and update you with how many i actually ended up getting!!!

52 hats is a seriously good collection. I guess dressing up in stardew isn't something I have been looking into there are significant more clothing items then I had expected. I will have to look into it more.

Seriously late to this video, but you did amazing!
A tip to anyone doing this for themselves; you can "go joja" at any point until the community center is finished, so a quick way to get one lightning rod is to unlock and do the 10k vault bundle. I actually would recommend doing the entire vault and boiler room via community center, then swapping to joja.

I remember my first real attempt at a playthrough (I usually ditch a file halfway through fall so my goal was to complete a full year 😅), I was looking around in the trash cans for some stuff and when I hit the saloon trash can, it nearly gave me a heart attack.

Why was i thinking about this for a vid idea then it pops up on my fy
"Lucky" run? i dont think anything can compete with the 4 corners farm i made where, within the first week, a meteorite landed smack dab in the center of the farm's southern exit, preventing me from using it until i got up to a gold pickax. Did i finish that farm? i dont remember, but i doubt it. I definitely gave it a fair chance to try and work within the limitations the farm inadvertently put on me, though. Also for the record, it landed PAST the well-hidden cut across between bottom left and bottom right, so i couldnt just use an ax to get out faster.
This looks like a lot of fun! I'm going to try it :-]
