That's a Beautiful Bike, I had a 71 or 72 Yamaha trail bike then I got a 76 yz basket Case that thing was a Rocket. Had to put locktight on most of the bolts
This red stripe elsinore is a jewel of a bike that should stay nice in a museum these are absolutely beautifull can t stop looking at these bikes are gold absolutely stunning can,t take my eyes off these exiting bikes even today brings back best of moments just to feel and own one is a dream and waking up to finding one of these as loverly present in the bedroom
Back in my day I had a factory 250 CR Elsinore change the Rake a few degrees change the swing arm gave me more travel in rear added a high rise pipe it was fast n clean looking loved it I was top of my class❤😂😊
These were the bikes that started motocross and they were the star attraction on the motocross track they deserve a shiny red star for this beautifull kreation keep the dream alive brothers of vintage
I had one the first year it came out. It was a beautiful bike and I loved it. I remember putting a flywheel weight on it and adding better shocks and welding on a kit to move up the mounts when that started being in fashion. Then I got married and raced no more. Until now! Wish I had her now as I try to tame the DRZ. I show my Elsinore briefly in my video.
I have raced some AHRMA events here on the east coast for several years and I am hooked! The vintage scene is really cool...so laid back and fun! My buddy let me race his 81 Maico 490 at Unadilla for last year's MX Rewind. I was so scared but it was the time of my life! In opinion, this is something everybody needs to try if for no other reason than to get some respect for the riders and machines that have made this sport what it is today!!! Thanks, Rado!!!
There was a bike being campaigned by the factory that year, with the aluminum tank, red stripe on the top instead of green, and Fox air shocks moved up on the swing arm, up pipe. Sort of a semi production bike. Pretty much just like that thing. I forget who was riding it that year. Pierre Karsmakers was riding the all red full factory RC. No reed, no power valve, usable power was all in one spot pretty much. You get used to it. We ditched the Keihin carb for a 30mm Mikuni on the CR125’s. I can’t remember what the 250’s had, but they ran OK. After ‘73 they were really not competitive against the YZ and the RM, and the Bultaco’s and Maico’s were much easier to ride and faster than the Honda. In ‘73 they dominated.
Ahoj Samo, ano vidim tu sem tam nieco na predaj a hlavne na vintage MX races ich stale vidim v plnej krase. Kazdy z moto komunity tu pozna CZ, skoda ze komunisti zastavili pokrok v Cezete a Jawe, kde sme dnes mohli byt.. KTM uroven mozno?
Its funny what people think about this bike. This was the absolute last place bike in 1975, progress was fast and this thing was a stop gap measure so Honda could keep trying to sell old tech. Nothing spectacular about this bike. I had the 73 250 Elsinore, a fragile ill handling bike that a lot of people thought was great. Mine blew to bits twice and I moved on to a KTM GP 250.
That bike is badly jetted. It shouldn't burble like that when in the powerband. Far too rich. There wasn't anything wrong with the brakes. People are too soft these days. When this bike was new, you braked by hitting berms, hay bales and track marshals. Next time, ride it on a 250 track, not one for 75cc bikes.
Wrong year that is a 76 model. It should be all red. Totally uncompetitive by 1976. 73-75 were basically the same, 76 had the high pipe and the swingarm with the shocks in that location. Bad jetting narrows the powerband even more.
Definitely lean carburetor who the hell tunes these air cooled bikes there not supposed to be linear my bike's would walk away from so many vintage bike's because of tuning
The greatest motocross dinosaur ever made very spectacular

Love seeing the vintage bikes. Brings back memories from my younger days.
did you ride one of these?
Back in my day I had a factory 250 CR Elsinore change the Rake a few degrees change the swing arm gave me more travel in rear added a high rise pipe it was fast n clean looking loved it I was top of my class❤😂😊
Nice work. When I inherited dad's Elsinore it had a nest in the airbox, was lucky I looked before starting it. All the droppings and bits of foam
These were the bikes that started motocross and they were the star attraction on the motocross track they deserve a shiny red star for this beautifull kreation keep the dream alive brothers of vintage
Husqvarna started selling 2 stroke MX bikes way earlier, over 10 years earlier.
needs major carb adjustment. Should rev out clean, but this blubbers and falls on it's face. I had a 76 CR125M !
Yes, it definitely needs some work. Would be a lot quicker with a tune up.

thanks for sharing Stephen, fun bike for sure!

First time I saw a CR 125M was in Lima ,Peru in 1974 , suppose my face was close to Drew Barrymore's had in ET... 😅
1973 -1975 epic ,gold age ,of motocroos, remember, roger da coster or magoo?? Best of the Best.
Man I was 5 when that was built lol. Love it would love to have it. ❤️❤️❤️❤️💯🔥
sweet bike, piece of history!
In love❤️!!!!
This was first or 2nd year of Fox AirShox. I had some on my late 70s RMs.
Very nice video 💯👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thank you! Cheers!
A special bike for special people 1975 elsinore the red stripe gas tank the beautifull year when it came out

Needs to be tuned better.
yea, she was bit rich on the bottom
I left California in 2002.
Leaving CA! Wander why? Lol so sad what CA has become
Dirtbiking is now actually illegal in California only permitted now in completely private property. Good luck
I don't doubt you knowing CA's socialist BS.....but.... you've got to be kidding me 😅
COMMIEFORNA IT'S SAD WHAT'S HAPPENING IN THIS GREAT CONSTITUTIONAL REPUBLIC
Stop the cap you only can’t register a new race bike . I can ride my 02 cr anywhere I want all year long .
I lead my first race on it n won1$t n my class 250cc😊
Why do guys persist on putting black rims on these vintage bikes from era.....silver only
And quit putting gold chains on them too!
Is that bike for sale by any chance
I dont think so, but you can ask @paulychambersphotography on IG
I have a vin 3Y0000954 on a honda 250. how do I get details?
I would try some vintage bike forums

hahaha, love the part about the brakes! yea, bike was rich..
Elsinore were good bikes in 73 -74 however they were overrated HONDA HYPE!!! But I still wanted one

My uncles stock 74, was so much faster with stock carb now day's people don't know what there doing on tuning for one mikuni doesn't belong on cr
