I saw this sub many years ago while visiting family in Liverpool. My cousin took me to see it. They were raising money to help restore it. It’s in better condition in this video than when I saw it.
This is the best video i've seen about this u-boat well done it is the only one that has made me want to go and visit to see this real piece of history and associated articles on display it looks brilliant thankyou!👍
So it was one of the last 4 remaining U-Boats in Preserved condition, and then it was cut into pieces, and turned into a tourist attraction. you forgot to add in the intro
Visited a couple of years ago. They've not taken the best care of her. Bits falling off, weeds growing out of the conning tower and the bow. Sad. Hate to think what might become of her now the museums are closed.
Dear 48alfaone thank you for your positive comment. I perceive from some of the videos on your 'RUclips' page that you are interested in railway engines. I have an interesting piece of video footage of a local steam train in action. When l upload it in due course I shall let you know. Best Wishes.
Good vjdeo they were a fomidable weapon and germany used them to their full advantage a shame so many young men died but they fought like lions every one
If you want to see a ship there are apparently 3 others which may or may not have public access, the sub was NOT looked after when it was 'preserved' and was not accessible (I had a tour of it down ladders at each end) so this sectionalising for proper public display is in my opinion an excellent fate for a relic which could well have been scrapped
Instead of preserving it in one piece the cut it up into four sections. Couldn’t be bothered spending any money on it. All the time, effort, and money spent on raising this historic boat from the Kattegat then to do that to it. Typical ignorant Scousers, it should never have gone there in the first place

Great little tour of history, thanks!
Woodside is not in Liverpool. It is in the Wirral which across the river from Liverpool. Many people outside of England make this mistake
The U boat should have been left in one piece. Which rubber duck cuts this into pieces?!
I love the U Boote lied. Thanks for including it in the video.
Shame they cut it up
Yes indeed! Warcrime !

hi if you go on my page at goahead100 you will see it before it was cut up which I took photos back in 2002

Of 40,000 Uboat sailors 30,000 were killed. The highest loss of any branch of the service. It is no wonder why they were called Iron Coffins
Also nearly 800 u boats were sunk!
Bit of a result then
Since it's in Liverpool it should be painted yellow!
Yellow Sub.........haha John Lennon is you there?!

Wir fahren gegen England
Sunk May 1945, pity, just a few days short of surviving.
It was actually after the cease fire. Weird deal.

Very good Video
i like your shoe string production very nuch thankyou mmmmmmm
Why no MPH.
Because the rest of the world has moved on.
GO TO THE U-505 INSTEAD ....its beautiful
Looks as though it's been carved up and placed behind glass screens for tourists to peer at, a bit like going to a museum not a ship.

DISGRACEFUL How's they cut her up for tourists. Governments destroy history.
