Dr. Kayiaros replaced my right hip (Anterior procedure) in early April 2022. I did 3 months of PT prior to try to build up strength and it helped with the recovery process imo. I was in so much pain…and was amazed at how little pain I had right after the surgery! Sure the incision was sore but the groin pain and hip pain was gone. Was walking with a walker a few hours after surgery. Now it’s 3 months after the procedure and I wish I had it done years ago! Thank you Dr. Kayiaros!

I've just had a full hip replacement (cementless) at the ripe old age of 50 in the UK. I will need my left hip done "soon" but will know more once my rights gets a little better.
I found this discussion extremely useful and clear - thank you.

Unfortunately, your group doesn't take my daughter"s insurance. The conversation was very informative and very educational. my question is about the lining of the cup that you use for the hip replacement. One consultant told my daughter that he uses ceramic for the lining. He mentioned that she would have to redo the operation within 15 to 20 years. My daughter just turned 40 last in February and was diagnosed with trauma arthritis. You mentioned another material you use for the lining but, I didn't catch the name. you also mentioned not having to redo the surgery which was very hopeful. Can you tell me that material and the list of the possible things that can happen such as a blood clot, infection, and other possible issues that can occur after the surgery, particularly in the first two months.
