Hey Boris, you finished second on the way to New York, you have shown big improvements in ‘all round’ boat speed since the ocean race, you have a magic team, and your objective is the Vendée Globe. Gut dass du auf deinen Instinkt hörst. Die Route ist definitiv spannend und nur wer wagt, kann auch gewinnen. Die Daumen sind gedrückt, dass du schnell auf die Nordseite des Hochs kommst und dann schön downwind ins Ziel segelst.

Das ist Racing! Ich finde es fantastisch, wie sich die Dinge entwickeln, spannend zu verfolgen, ob da noch ein passendes Windsystem aufploppt oder nicht usw. Wie im waren Leben sind zu bestimmten Zeitpunkten Entscheidungen zu treffen und dann gehts eben weiter. Ich freue mich schon unheimlich auf die Vendee Globe!!! Go Boris!!!

I admire your clarity and joy in what you do. Sailing is not something I do, the sea is a huge mystery, however I see your experience very similar to life journey we each experience, sometimes good conditions, sometimes bad, making decisions based on our experience and trusting our instinct, all while trying to keep focus on why we are here, in this moment, how did we get here and why, all while creating meaningful relationships and being inspired by the beauty of the Sun on the water. I'm currently listening to the biography of Alexander Von Humboldt called "The Invention of Nature", amazing explorer & scientist who presented the world with the concept of the interconnection of Nature, the poetic and essential existance of Nature, he connected Nature with politics, culture and society. An awesome listening experience for your journey.

Hallo Boris, zu allererst drück ich dir die Daumen das dein Plan aufgeht. Den Tracker verfolge ich schon mehrere Tage und bin beeindruckt von deinem Mut so weit im Norden zu segeln, da vor Irland du ja noch den Sprung runter in die Biskaya machen musst. die Route erinnert mich stark an Bernard Moitessier, wie er abgebogen ist. off to greenland (-: auf die Intuition vertrauen ist das beste was man im Nordatlantik bei so viel Technik und Wettermodellen an board machen kann. & wir drücken dir alle die Daumen, a very lot of fair winds.
Sehr nachvollziehbar! Danke für die Erklärung! Aber rechtfertigen musst du dich nicht. Und selbst wenn es Gamblen wäre… wann wenn nicht jetzt? Platz zwei hattest du gerade und das ist das letzte Rennen vor dem großen Rennen. Mit so einer Situation umzugehen ist sicher ein super Training, das man unmöglich simulieren kann. Das wird bestimmt später nochmal helfen.
Und außerdem wird das gut ausgehen! Go for gold! Push push push!

I can certainly see your logic in your route of north of the high pressure and with Charlie in front of you in order to win you are spot on.great racers follow their own gut not someone else's. successful or not it shows you've got what it takes to do really well in the Vendee.
