Men are very solution based. In many aspects of their lives. Hence them getting over conflict faster. BUT that has also presented itself as a problem in relationships coz women want validation, want to just have someone listen to their problems. So it’s important to have a good balance of male and female friends. Coz they feed different elements of your emotions. If I want solutions I’ll vent to my male friends. If I just want someone to cry with me, I’ll turn to my female friends
Seasons of life are changing. Friendships are not easy to come by. Like I could meet people, we could hang but I am always left with the core people that have been there for years especially for female friendships.
Male friendships are somewhat unpredictable sometimes especially when you are not married or dating. Some have motives, some do not, so there is always the issue of boundaries. I barely make permanent male friends, I only have the ones that have been there for years😂 like they are now my Bro's and they are a handful.
It's not like it's hard to make friendships because we meet people every now and then, but it actually takes a lot of intentionality to keep friends right now, because people are in transition seasons of starting families, new careers, new locations..like it takes a lot of energy and commitment. But also, I appreciate friendships that have been tested by seasons of silence and different phases but somehow we still pick up from where we left.
Btw with regards to if it’s easier to make friends with men or women. What I’ve noticed in my life, as a “guys girl”. Is that we gravitate towards each other. All my female friends are guys girls. While as “girl girls” tend to gravitate towards each other. So it’s easy for me to make friends with men AND guys girls Thanks for listening to my Ted talk 😂
