      @teohontech7141 I would buy it for £369 from amazon UK. But I just bought the veiwsonic vp16 oled for £410 in September.
      But if it was £278 like in your video then I could probably justify it.

    to me this is the best portable monitor. If you want a more affordable model get the one off amaozn with no touchscreen but if you want touchscreen which is the one I have I can say it is amazing very awesome when I want one screen in front of me and just want to treat it as a iPad. It looks incredible and I do downscale it to 2560x1600p to get 120hz. If you keep it native res it only does 100hz which is still good but I don't notice the difference. This model is slim and light weight itand is the easiest thing to bring anywhere!

    Hey Teoh, great review and tip regarding HiDPI on mac! I'm wondering how you color calibrated the monitor? I'd like to get it to match my M3 MacBook Pro, but have never done anything of the sort. Thanks

    • @teohontech7141
      @teohontech7141  6 часов назад

      Without a colour calibrator, it's very difficult to colour calibrate because that would mean you have to adjust the RGB manually, and you need an accurate source to compare with.

    Hi. Thanks for the good review. For some portable oleds even though there is brightness setting, that setting does not controls the brightness. Instead it controls brightness. For this, does the brightness setting really controls the brightness and if it does, is there any flicker at lowest brightness?

    • @teohontech7141
      @teohontech7141  3 дня назад +1

      I personally cannot see flickering at low brightness, but I also prefer LCD low brightness than OLED low brightness.
      OLEDs will have PWM which is the flickering that you may be talking about. It's difficult to say whether you'll be affected unless you can see the display in person.

    Hello!
    May I ask how you set the settings on the monitor to match the colour similar to Macbook?
    Mine looks kinda saturated.

    • @teohontech7141
      @teohontech7141  8 дней назад

      Ideally, you'll need a colour calibrator to match the colours. If you do not have a colour calibrator, you'll have to adjust the colours manually from the uperfect OSD menu, and that's very tedious and not accurate.

    Hey, thanks for review - how would you rate the screen uniformity (especially low brightness)? Do you feel like it's a rejected panel (as ive heard), things like dead, stuck pixels, uniformity issues, stuff like that ?
    From what I understand the whole cable ordeal is because USB has different versions and each one has sub versions, so for example usb 3.2 2x2 has 20gbs and a certain wattage attached, but usb 3.1 and usb 4 has different ones again. And then each usb C cable also has these specifications. So when you're using 120hz or higher brightness it's pushing more GBs or more watts. And even a certified cable at xyz speed/wattage is only for certain lenght, because impedance goes up the longer it is - so 1m is ok, but maybe 2 or 3m isnt ok anymore.
    For example my motherboard has usb 2.0, usb 3.0, and usb C 3.2 2x2 port. So I assume only that one single port out of maybe 10~ is rated to be single cable solution capable.

    • @teohontech7141
      @teohontech7141  Месяц назад

      Not sure if USB 3.2 gen 2x2 is able to output video.
      Anyway, typical USB C ports can put out ~15W of power. So depending on brightness, that may or may not be enough.
      Uniformity seems alright. Better than LCDs that typically have lower brightness around edges, but it’s not something that I will notice unless I measure with a colour calibrator.

    • @GFClocked
      @GFClocked Месяц назад

      @@teohontech7141 not only is 3.2 2x2 able to output video, it can do 120hz at 2880x1800. the wattage depends entirely on the version, some usb specs allow up to 240watts of delivery (USB 3.1 PD).. (PD = Power delivery) spec.

    • @EddiRauch
      @EddiRauch Месяц назад

      The max. 240W is correct.
      But in practice it is not available for notebooks and desktops.
      In practice it is max. 100W.
      Notebooks generally output 15W.
      There are also some models that can do more.
      What the respective USB port can do is always determined by the manufacturer of the device or part.
      The 240W will probably only be implemented with Thunderbolt 5 or USB-C 5.

    • @teohyc
      @teohyc Месяц назад

      @ 240W unlikely to be on laptops for the simple fact that laptops already have problems with battery life themselves, and we want laptops to charge other devices? Well, unless laptop is connected to power

    • @EddiRauch
      @EddiRauch Месяц назад

      Currently, only 15W is generally possible for notebooks/laptops.
      Although a maximum of 100W would be possible.
      This is only possible if it comes from a power source (e.g. monitor when it is connected to the power supply).
