There was a man at my favorite Goodwill that was taking large suitcases and filling them up with shoes. He would leave the suitcase in his cart when he checked out instead of putting it on the counter and only paid for the suitcase. Apparently he had been doing this for a while but one day someone saw him doing it and told the cashier. She asked him to open the bag and then began to ring up each pair of shoes. There were dozens of shoes in the suitcase and it turned into a several hundred dollar purchase. From then on they opened up all the suitcases and purses that came through the checkout.
Years ago I was shopping at a big department store and kept seeing this sweet looking old grandma lady. Then by a fluke I saw her go through an employee only door. When I saw her again I point blank asked her is she was store security and she was. They hired her because no one ever suspected her and she could follow people and act like she was just a bored ditsy old lady. I got to know her and she told me some great stories. Your story is the best I've heard since hers. She also taught me there is no point so low people won't stoop to it. Thanks for sharing and love your RUclips name.
@@angelachouinard4581 That is awesome! Smart thinking on the store's part. I was shopping at a huge Walmart the other day, and going very slowly, as I have a problem with my right hip. I still want to get out and do things...I am only 56! Anyway, this big, burly guy in a Harley Tshirt and jeans walked right up and asked me how I was doing. Lol, I said "I'm well, and you?" He didn't answer. Just walked away. Pretty obvious and comical.
You know that when I worked retail Walmart, Kmart, & JCPenney’s people that were trying to steal things and were getting watched would ditch the items under shelves, racks etc. yes resellers do put things back in the wrong places but that bag of shoes reminded me of someone getting caught not a reseller.
I worked in retail for 32 years, and it looks like you came across a thief's stash to come in and grab later. Must have got scared to leave with it and left it there to come back to steal.Did you notice all the shoes were the same size? A re-seller's would have been various sizes. Interesting shoping trip!
If you wanted to use it to put a fresh flower in you could probably find a test tube to put in the hole so you could put a fresh flower or two with a stem in there. I think that vase would look cool in as MCM decor with a poppy blossom in it, especially if there were orange accent pieces in the room.
Has anyone noticed when thrifting, there's always a "theme"??One week I found 3 complete original boxes of Georges Briard glasses(kept these for my bar)the next week Fenton and LE Smith(though I don't collect much of either except a stray fairy lamp...lol)this week it was art pottery and 4 boxed sets of Gorham crystal(for $5.99!! for crystal)I put them away for gifts,I don't resell but It's crazy how much you save by thrifting!😀
I went to a vide grenier (car boot sale) here in France today and found loads of great wooden items to paint and resell, other days it will be china or glasses, etc 😀
Yup. It happens a lot with animals. Suddenly the store has a whole bunch of cow items, or whatever. Last week there were little porcelain birds all over the place.
You missed a bell with a flower on it. My family collected those flower bells for my mother. They sold for big money. Think around $80 or more years ago. They are vintage now.
I'm glad you unpacked that suitcase. Who ever did that was planning to steal the items which hurts us all. I have to blame the store for such high prices a little. Anyway thank you. I don't know how I missed this video when it dropped, glad to watch it now.
In the ARC thrift stores here they actually chain the bags to the wall so that no one can just grab one and fill it up then walk out the door with it. The people that work there are not allowed to chase them down so they are inclined to do something else to prevent that. Good for you for foiling their plan. Have a great day
Amazing haul!!! 👏 I love the wood item you got.❤ 😍🤩😘 Wood bowls are my favorite. I'm getting ready to make a lazy susan for a pottery ser I have. My nephew sliced me a piece of log and I will have a live edge. Just have to get the kit to finish the turning part. Great comments Noah 👌 👍 👏 Thinking 🤔 like your momma more everyday 😀 Video was amazing. Take care. Blessings to all!!!
Oh I wanted you to see the Giraffe at 20:31 ( next to the Singleton woven basket!) It was such a cool piece, hidden under that green piece of junk! LOL
Our Goodwills are pretty awful. Either filthy and wayyyy over priced for really broken and stained junk or they're very clean and wayyy over priced with a limited selection. We only have one bin outlet store and I only go if my husband is with me. I always feel bad for the workers. Truth is most of the outlet stores tend to not be in good areas and attract what amounts to 50-60 something yr. Old gangs who export the clothes. We are going today if I can hold my body up long enough. 😅😅😅 because with a lot of grunt work you can find things, including cloths you can deconstruct and sew new things with. I also score pretty well on books as most can't be bothered with them.
I do paper crafting and have some Martha Stewart punches. They are very good punches and $10 each (set?) is a great buy (but not necessarily for reselling) since even though they’re discontinued, the new sets and large punches can typically sell for $20-$25 on Ebay, depending. I would have picked up at least a couple more of those for myself.😊
I bought one of the art kits at “the bins” ( GW OUTLET) and it sold on eBay for about $12 plus s/h it only had the pastels and some crayons and a few used pencils. It was early in my reseller days... but it sold! Artists source their supplies as inexpensively as possible!
Group, group, group and make up small lots of things that by themselves won’t sell for much. As long as the grouping is a good one, closely related in color and style, I think, groups may be the way to go. especially with high shipping. Thanks for another fun trip!
When you looked under the large blue and white bowl at 3:01, it looked like there was some type of marking that was partially covered by the price sticker🤔
here in Dec.-- Now that you have a storefront why not do your Haul in private table?? just a thought. Addicting music anyway! very. Have to force self to pause it ever lol. Distillery!!! grab it. more later in.
Sky vodka- I think it’s to put ice in the bottom, and then the small glasses of vodka on the ice. Close the lid to keep it cold. But I think there’s a tray missing that holds the vodka glasses
awsome haul and what you did with the hidden stuff you found well done pet I would have done same love going on your shopping trips yard sales love it thankyou for sharing xxx
When we lived in Illinois the Goodwill employees couldn't purchase anything unless it had been on the floor for 24 hours -- I am guessing they didn't want the person pricing the items to mark the items with a low price and then purchasing it for themselves. I used to find a lot of women's clothing in the baby sections or pushed to the back of the bottom shelf and I always thought it was an employee hoping no one would find it for 24 hours so they could take it home.
You might want to look up comps on the Martha Stewart punches…the front punch sold for 23.22 on April 9th…and if they are retired or hard to get punches, us crafters would pay up ;) I have been knows to pay 50.00 for a punch…and I use it all the time ;)
Great video as always love watching ur videos I love how that u always make shopping fun and you get shop done while doing it how are ur adorable tortoises doing love when u show us all ur adorable pets😍
Thank you for keeping me company while I clean for Passover! Love, love, love your channel even though I am not a reseller! Maybe that doll with the pins is a “Voodoo” doll!
I was watching one of your previous videos. 2/11/22 "I did not expect this to happen" I noticed Bonwit Teller & Co. cups & saucers. That was a very high end department store with locations on Rodeo Drive and 5th avenue, NYC which is now Trump Tower.

I found a dachshund dog like that yesterday and the foot was broken off as well!!!! I was so bummed!!!! Can’t wait to hear about the exciting project!!!!
Captain Morgan really needs to quit drinking. It’s not a good look!! I have the Mr and Mrs Snowman candles from Avon. Man am I old I knew you’d take that bee!! How could you not? That is definitely part of your charm. Love it

I found a $20 bill in a purse once and I also found a prescription notepad from one of our doctors in one of his white coats I guess someone donated...I turned it in to the manager which I know and I know she would get it back to him...
I worked at goodwill for a while. Right after I quit I found out that the manager got fired for passing a bunch of fur coats out the back door to his friends. People do what they do without thinking about the consequences of they get caught.
The flat 🥿 shoes I need in size 11, they were my type, I'm 67, blouse and sweater were lovely, but I need 3 X. I love to buy good sales, I never did hide clothes to get at a lesser price. Interesting shoping trip!
The clanger in a bell is called a clapper.
You should always look inside the taped boxes. I donate lots of stuff in the wrong box that are real treasures………always take a quick peek. 😉
I believe it is a dry flower vase. My husband used to make smaller ones in his wood working shop.
If you wanted to use it to put a fresh flower in you could probably find a test tube to put in the hole so you could put a fresh flower or two with a stem in there. The mask at 3:?? reminded me of Tom Hank's island companion named " Wilson"
Me too!
I thought the same thing!
The bottom of the other doll that was held together with those giant pins was there on Monday. I put the two together on the shelf, just like you do.

You and Carrie should get an RV and hit goodwills on a road trip. That would be a hoot!

The bee wing could easily be made from paper and color pen and glued on.

Nice find on the copper watering can! I sold a Nielsen Kunst Kobbersmedie from Denmark brass and copper one for $100 a few months ago.
Super Duper Excitingly Excited!

I think they were trying to steal the stuff in the bag .I also worked in retail .They must of not felt it was safe and ditched it.
I buy vintage chipped Santa's on ebay 24/7 .. I'm a reseller .It just gives character to the item
From the back side of the Turkey it appears to be a Sun Flower. Don’t know if that’s on purpose but cute!!
I have an iris and herringbone pitcher, platter and flutes, love them. Guess I won’t be selling them soon huh

Hey, Danni. Boites Cadeaux is French for Gift Boxes Pronounced… bwah-cad-oh. 💜
Go the a pharmacy aisle and buy plain, cheap mineral oil to put a sheen on your wooden bowls. It is food safe!
Maybe a glass tube set inside the wood art piece for a bud vase.

Fab watering can!!

Thanks so much!!
Wow! You found so many nice things! You are on a roll.
Hey Noah! Nice to see your messages.
Loved the round cake cookbook
Ibizia shoes are selling pretty high
Id say those stashed items were a thief, it used to happen when I worked at Laura Ashley in Australia!!
Think they’re ice buckets for taller thinner shot glasses which are nestled into the ice. The Skyy Vodka shot glasses are cobalt blue.
Especially love the wood products you picked up. I don’t think lemon oil is the right product to use on wood. All I know is it should be food safe
Mineral oil. Tiffany uses mineral oil.
It’s linseed oil
Linseed or olive oil
Bravo, Adam 👏👏👏 Fantastic job editing!! Loved it!
This was an awesome shopping trip, hurry part 2!!❤💐❤
Hi Danni (and Kari)! At 3:14, I believe there was a beautiful Juanita Ware eagle--a vintage piece of pottery that sells very well, at least in Ohio!
Wow. Nicely made croc. And I dont like those things! Glad you got it.
I think that wood vase should have a glass tube inside
There was a nice painted wooden giraffe mask-type item at 20:31 that you missed.
I have found several, they dont sell well
Unfortunately they were going to steel the items. Worked retail a long time know the procedure.
Captain Morgan really needs to quit drinking. It’s not a good look!!
I have the Mr and Mrs Snowman candles from Avon. Man am I old
I knew you’d take that bee!! How could you not? That is definitely part of your charm. Love it

I like the wooden vase and think cat tails would look good in it or maybe there were wooden cat tails in it at one time.....
Copper water can to water your fake plants! 🤣😂🤣🤪😘😘
Some great finds!
Could not read the wood plaque. What did it say? Thanks
That square piece that looks like a vace may be a puzzle bank. They sell them because you have to be an expert to open it.
I found a $20 bill in a purse once and I also found a prescription notepad from one of our doctors in one of his white coats I guess someone donated...I turned it in to the manager which I know and I know she would get it back to him...
Get the bee. You can figure out a fiber/chip to put in there.
I worked at goodwill for a while. Right after I quit I found out that the manager got fired for passing a bunch of fur coats out the back door to his friends. People do what they do without thinking about the consequences of they get caught.
Fabulous shopping...As always!...🙏💜
That swirly brown bird looks like Mount St Helen Ash ceramics...
Walnut oil works also for that type wood.
What kind of booth do you have? Is it year round? Part of your town or state?
