I was trying to land a nolle late heel and i landed this nollie late backfoot impossible. Idk lol my foot spazzed and like my brain did this weird panic.. that resulted in my foot doing nothing close to resemble a late heel foot motion. 😅 i also did a nollie late back heel 180 while trying to land this more simple nollie late back heel. Haha never landed either ever again RIP
Session has issues, but nothing beats getting home from work and have a chill skate session in the game. The music just fits the mood. Lack or late improvements aren't going to push me away.
One thing no one talks about that I think is cool would be style and posture. In skate 3, you could choose to make your character have a slouched posture or aggressive style.
you can do that in session, its tweaking your stats. i have aggressive stats, if you raise your pop height and gravity equally, you get an aggressive style, if you lower the gravity and the pop height, you get a very loose flowy style skateboarding, its a bit more lofty, its pretty much the same height as raising the pop height and raising the gravity. its just higher gravity, you stay in the air less, and stomp to the ground. with lower gravity, you stay in the air longer. flip speed, rotation, and release settings along with manual catch if you wanna go that far. all alter t he way your skater skates in the world.

Different people have different styles and posture just depending on their physical bodies and personalities, that's not something that can be changed with pop settings lol. I don’t think we can really criticise them for this. Any game that uses this “fake interior” technique copy and pastes only 3 or 4 different rooms. It would be a waste of resources to focus on making every room different when it’s purely for some background detail most people wouldn’t notice.
@@itspigeonthief it’s not a critique of the fake interior, it’s a critique of the «secret cat» is in all of them on this map. In all the other maps the cats are hidden and they’re not everywhere like in the paris map.
I agree it's hard to compare session to other skateboard games. It definitely is in it's own pocket. I'll probably put more time into skate upon release but session is one of those games I'll come back to forever. The left / right joy sticks controls are a large part of that, I very much have come to prefer those controls over skate's. It just feels more like skateboarding.
The thing about that missing texture is that not only is it missing, the model wasn't even finished. Those gray and white rectangles are supposed to be squares. When they're rectangles like that, it means that the object wasn't UV mapped properly. Basically, imagine a texture as a picture of a dog. If they were to just put in a picture of a dog to add that texture, the dog would be squished and look really long. So it's not just missing the texture, it's straight up not ready to be textured lol. I hope the devs get everything sorted and start updating the fundamentals. It's disheartening seeing all these paid dlc's when I haven't felt a good reason to start the game in a year lol
Its more due to 1:1 copies requiring Creature to spend the money for someone to fly out to that spot, and take thousands of pictures of everything (stairs, the bricks, the railings etc). There was a copyright issue however with the Philly map, but it was just the single LOVE statue near the fountain. Meanwhile in this new DLC, we can see the the Eiffel tower in the background: the tower itself is fairuse, but the tower's lightshow at night is not.
@@z0h33y that makes sense, i probably wont grab it as its not 1:1 it looks more like a level in a skate game. it just doesnt seem in the same scale as the rest of the game. my stats are very finely tuned to skate the world . everything looks....small....and even the stuff thats big like. hip high, looks, small.

It's a shame they can't get them to go above the head and move around and balance a bit more like real life. Or have more than three landing animations. Also shame that everyone looks exactly the same. Bodies move like robots. When was the last time you watched a skateboarding video do they look like that when they land every time. There's no life or soul in any of these characters
I have a distinct impression this latest update, the bounce glitch is especially bouncy. I'm glad they're working on it though, looking forward to the fix. I love this game.
I've just gone back to skater xl for console, session basically releases a dlc similar to how they put a map in. I can play with my friends on xl and the animations are just better flowing
I just want them to add more character customisation. I know the focus is mostly on the skateboarding but I also feel like skater fashion comes hand in hand with the hobby
They not even fight the skateboarding in the game. No grabs, horrible lip trick system , no throw down animation , skate 3 has better animations than this game and it’s over 10 years old
i love session but the lack of improvement from a gameplay stand just keeps me away unfortunately, i want to be able to come back after not playing for a while and get a new experience gameplay wise.
Possibly, I have them permanently on my Discord so you can easily copy them over. My settings don’t change much so I don’t see much point in making a new video for every minor tweak I might do here and there.
it could be the best skating game ever but it’s so unfinished we need more animations, clothes, better maps designed for skating, and bigger maps in general, better player customization, better physics the most important ig, but to me i want all of this i’d love the game so much i used to feel disgusted at the controls my first try but fell in love after an hour the game could be so good.

Kinda learnt nollie pressure hardflips by mistake. I don't even remember wtf I was trying. I think a nollie bigspin with some serious pop and the board flipped all weird instead of a 3 shuv. Ended up evolving my foot placement to stick it, and eventually learnt nollie pressure frontside flips and switch too bc of it. Couldn't do it regular if my life depended on it lol
Yeah that’s what we need is that small ass team that can’t put out an update to the game but can push dlc out quarterly lol working on another game 😂. I don’t for the life of me understand why they can’t update they game with each dlc release. I have heard it’s because they are working on the unreal 5 version and they’d why we aren’t getting updates. 🤷♂️ who knows but most of these dlc maps are boo boo imo lol I play on pc and use mod maps so I don’t need the dlc but that sucks for console peeps.
Excited for the UE5 session, after seeing the animation features with that engine. Perfect for a skateboarding game. Though I'd imagine it would play very differently than current gen session, which while is probably a good thing, I'd speculate that it's going to be a pretty big change. Beta to 1.0 was a big change for me. The ground play and manual physics were very different. 1.0 is certainly better, even day 1 I concluded it was better, but I was a bit sad that beta was gone and certain things gone with it. If they announced Session UE5 as DLC or a standalone game I wouldn't complain.
My first accidental trick was a hardflip, i was trying to kickflip a hip, and as I popped i must have scooped forward with my back foot a little and i remember litterally watching the board hard flip under my feet and i just stomped it. Mind you, my best trick was a kickflip, i was like 14 at the time, i still remember the look on my buddys face who rode for a local company 😂 he was shook
Creature Studios sucks and their community management is even worse. This Paris map shows a serious drop in quality. Stairs to nowhere, holes in the floor, gaps in the walls, missing textures. Total clown show. Super glad to see content creators address this mess. More people need to do this.
I appear to be in the minority, but for me this Paris map is the best one yet. I like the idea of adding other city maps in the future - hopefully with some historical challenges.
I believe a good part of the negative reviews for dlc maps come from people just rate thumbs down because it's paid dlc. I mean the school yard sitting at mixed is crazy. Should at least be somewhat in the positive.
This makes sense. I honestly think Session price their DLCs pretty fairly but I suppose most people don’t want to pay extra on top of paying for the base game which really isn’t 100% finished.

im calling it now, when they update to unreal 5 they will release it as session 2 and charge for it. There is no way Nacon are gonna let them release it as a free update considering the work that will probably have to go into it. Plus its probably going to make it look like a whole new game so why not profit.
thats when i pirate, i bought session cause it was on the right track last year. Then they just screwed us by cutting out promised content and calling it 1.0 without fixing the bugs or adding animations
Im pretty sure session couldnt add the detailing as the game got struck for copyright infringement, this was stated in the Playstation update history logs.
3:51 yeah, it’s not insanely accurate but they did say they were done doing maps of real places I think and they were going to just like throw stuff together so I’m not surprised, but I take this as like a donation of eight dollars to the cause I like the tank grind box thing that’s cool. It’s a lot to skate honestly. I just spent 50 minutes skating one spot.
Everytime there is an update i look for achievements.. widh they would do like a vampire survivors approch to achievements.. or maybe once ya do a historical challenge you can select it to fast travel to it.
Creature might claim they have 18-20 employees, but it feels like theres only 2-3 working on Session. The rest must be working on another game, which is totally understandable. A new game has the potential to make more money, and its also interesting as a creator to tackle a new genre, worldspace, etc.

my main problem with the DLC is it feels way too big and empty with not that many things to skate and it doesn't have that good creative potential that the other DLC and maps have
i also think this map was rushed out because so many people are dunking on Easyday for releasing another park map. So Session got there map out faster because its a city map and it what people are asking for.

Pricing for what dlc's offer is way to high, but to be fair I am way more concerned about the lacks in general core game design, yeah session is good and has many good features like it's phisics and the flexibility in controls and stats, but the way this last is approached is far from perfect and it induces many problems due to it's stupid general approach to some aspects of the controls of the game and other quirks in the gameplay
I got a feeling all the players who have adjusted to two sticks on xl and session (which feels way better then single stick imo) aren’t going to like going back to that on skate maybe I’m wrong but when I play skate now after mastering both xl and session I can’t really play it as long as I used to and I already confirmed with the homie who’s testing skate as of right now it’s still single stick.
i started on ps4, so i had pedestrians off for performance reasons, but i still have them off after switching to pc. they seem to have all the pathfinding programming of the dvd logo screensaver lmao just walk in a direction until you hit something, then change direction and repeat
Being bought out by a shitty publisher like Nacon really was the worst thing that could happen to Session. Wow I had no idea the map looks so bad compared to teh real life spot until you compared it. Those missing textures feel like the "help I'm stuck in a shoe factory" note in the bottom of the box.
With all the mtx, passes and etc, I actually doubt that the new skate will be a big success like 2 and 3 was, people don't trust EA anymore at all. As for the Paris map, especially for me, the waterfront area alone make it worth the money
I'm a long time Session player i played the game when it was just a kickstarter and you were prison dude inside of a jail courtyard and that was the whole map. I've always been on creatures side with Session and in my opinion i really think they just gave up with the game bc they already acheived the success they wanted.
It's sad to admit it but this is just how I feel and i guess I'll just have to switch to skate 4 when it comes out and just play realistic. It is what it is I guess

The animations are just too awkward for my taste. They don't look particularly good the way fully canned animations do, giving the tricks weird, unrealistic movements that look the same every time but without fluidity. I've been hoping since the Kickstarter days that the devs would improve the physics and animations, but I accept that it will never change at this point. Also, not having transitions is just dumb. What kind of "simulation" purposely ignores a large percentage of what is possible in a sport? The devs specifically said they aren't going to work on transitions, so, like, lol. It's not a "simulation" if they aren't going to include the basics of the thing they are trying to simulate.
If a suit thinks nobody likes a game they are in control of because of review bombing, they will justify to shareholders/publishers that it is not worth it so to milk it for what it is worth. Just saying if you want it to actually get better, review bombing and destroying the publish image of the product isn't going to do that.

Everything I've seen from it looks bad, EA's track record in the last 10+ years isn't great, it being F2P doesn't instill a bunch of confidence, and going back to the Skate games after playing XL and Session just didn't do anything for me.
I enjoyed the dlc but man my runs get ruined by this glitch I get when I grind, my feed flip around and it looks horrible, Honestly for 8$ it’s not bad, I just want new hair and clothes options, maybe get creature skateboards and get the skater “David Gravette” in there too.. fix some bugs and animations

Creature are the heart of the operation. Nacon the head. Sadly, lately at least it feels like the head is hindering the ambition and vision of the devs. It may show further issues as School Yard was so buggy and I really didn't like it and the "fixes" broke more than it fixed imo. Not trashing the studio. I just feel different since Nacon stepped in. The communication is lacking since too. Just doesn't feel like the community are connected much to the devs. Hope it's a blip, but they're not gonna be able to milk it without more innovation again. So something more than an engine upgrade needed. The engine feels dated as is. That's more mandatory than a selling point by now. Ok enough entitled yapping. All love at the end of the day.
Guys i cant open my object dropper in session, I do pressa R1 when im off the board and nothing happens, I did buy objects but ye nothing works. it used to work but then i re installed the game and now it doesnt.
personally i havent touched session and have no desire to until they make the game feel better. havent bought a single dlc and wont do so until the game feels finished. just sharing my input. i like the game. it just isnt it, yet.
The truth is that Session is still an early access game by all defintions. They can say 1.0 but it's not feature complete, and by definition it's still a pre alpha build of this project. And charging for levels and content like this just doesn't jive with people when a game is unfinished and in a condition like session. Most of the negative reviews for the DLC are because of the ethics of this, not necessarily the quality of the maps. Though this map is the first one that really doesn't seem good enough quality.
all my friends on playstation are just happy they get to play the game. which, also increases the revenue they get, as, more people are able to give them money for the game. thats the thing people dont realize, sure, it rubbed some people the wrong way, but the core playstation audience has been able to play the game for the last year or so, and i think thats more important than an arbitrary status of a game.
If you place yourself as the "realistic" skate game, why make maps totally unrealistic by botching spots. le dome, the lyon pyramid in paris, creteil, the creteil orange banks, ... they also added some random "homemade" spots when could have put some similar spots actually from the city they fucked up so many details of paris actually. for example the sign "rue barrée" at 13:50 (at the moment you're saying they did a good rendition of it), is not to be seen in france at all. it looks more canadian to me. The ground (except at republique), looks like what you would find in other big european cities, but not in paris. some benches, some barrier, some buildings, ... the texture work is really bad, and they changed colors of some spots, why? (i e the weird fontain being green instead of blueish dark grey, the wavy ledges going grey instead of flashy blue). just look at the modded map 'le dome" for skaterxl. this is a good rendition of a spot. they would have improved the map a lot if they had input from someone living there while making it. if they make maps for other cities hey definitely need a consultant from those cities.

Like the main thing they could add is a put down and cannoball animation. Like cmon open up blender and spend some time on it. And add it to a dang patch. Im tired of glitching onto my board. And work on transition please. So many maps are useless because you cant skate the transition. Creature studios is why im done buying early access games. Cause they screwed us over with their 1.0 garbage.

"still active in development" is basically 1 dlc and 1 minor update per year. don't hold your hopes

Possibly, I have them permanently on my Discord so you can easily copy them over. My settings don’t change much so I don’t see much point in making a new video for every minor tweak I might do here and there.
it could be the best skating game ever but it’s so unfinished we need more animations, clothes, better maps designed for skating, and bigger maps in general, better player customization, better physics the most important ig, but to me i want all of this i’d love the game so much i used to feel disgusted at the controls my first try but fell in love after an hour the game could be so good.

Kinda learnt nollie pressure hardflips by mistake. I don't even remember wtf I was trying. I think a nollie bigspin with some serious pop and the board flipped all weird instead of a 3 shuv. Ended up evolving my foot placement to stick it, and eventually learnt nollie pressure frontside flips and switch too bc of it. Couldn't do it regular if my life depended on it lol

I don’t for the life of me understand why they can’t update they game with each dlc release. I have heard it’s because they are working on the unreal 5 version and they’d why we aren’t getting updates. 🤷♂️ who knows but most of these dlc maps are boo boo imo lol I play on pc and use mod maps so I don’t need the dlc but that sucks for console peeps.

Excited for the UE5 session, after seeing the animation features with that engine. Perfect for a skateboarding game. Though I'd imagine it would play very differently than current gen session, which while is probably a good thing, I'd speculate that it's going to be a pretty big change. Beta to 1.0 was a big change for me. The ground play and manual physics were very different. 1.0 is certainly better, even day 1 I concluded it was better, but I was a bit sad that beta was gone and certain things gone with it. If they announced Session UE5 as DLC or a standalone game I wouldn't complain.
My first accidental trick was a hardflip, i was trying to kickflip a hip, and as I popped i must have scooped forward with my back foot a little and i remember litterally watching the board hard flip under my feet and i just stomped it.
Mind you, my best trick was a kickflip, i was like 14 at the time, i still remember the look on my buddys face who rode for a local company 😂 he was shook

Creature Studios sucks and their community management is even worse. This Paris map shows a serious drop in quality. Stairs to nowhere, holes in the floor, gaps in the walls, missing textures. Total clown show.
Super glad to see content creators address this mess. More people need to do this.

I appear to be in the minority, but for me this Paris map is the best one yet. I like the idea of adding other city maps in the future - hopefully with some historical challenges.
I believe a good part of the negative reviews for dlc maps come from people just rate thumbs down because it's paid dlc. I mean the school yard sitting at mixed is crazy. Should at least be somewhat in the positive.

This makes sense. I honestly think Session price their DLCs pretty fairly but I suppose most people don’t want to pay extra on top of paying for the base game which really isn’t 100% finished.

im calling it now, when they update to unreal 5 they will release it as session 2 and charge for it. There is no way Nacon are gonna let them release it as a free update considering the work that will probably have to go into it. Plus its probably going to make it look like a whole new game so why not profit.
thats when i pirate, i bought session cause it was on the right track last year. Then they just screwed us by cutting out promised content and calling it 1.0 without fixing the bugs or adding animations

Im pretty sure session couldnt add the detailing as the game got struck for copyright infringement, this was stated in the Playstation update history logs.

3:51 yeah, it’s not insanely accurate but they did say they were done doing maps of real places I think and they were going to just like throw stuff together so I’m not surprised, but I take this as like a donation of eight dollars to the cause I like the tank grind box thing that’s cool. It’s a lot to skate honestly. I just spent 50 minutes skating one spot.
How do you use all those modded clothes without your game crashing? I have a high end pc and it crashes after 30 mins
I’ve never had any issues with mods crashing the game before, I’d make sure you are installing them correctly.
Everytime there is an update i look for achievements.. widh they would do like a vampire survivors approch to achievements.. or maybe once ya do a historical challenge you can select it to fast travel to it.
Creature might claim they have 18-20 employees, but it feels like theres only 2-3 working on Session. The rest must be working on another game, which is totally understandable. A new game has the potential to make more money, and its also interesting as a creator to tackle a new genre, worldspace, etc.

my main problem with the DLC is it feels way too big and empty with not that many things to skate and it doesn't have that good creative potential that the other DLC and maps have
i also think this map was rushed out because so many people are dunking on Easyday for releasing another park map. So Session got there map out faster because its a city map and it what people are asking for.

I’ve had MORE physics glitches and weird “pebbles” just kick me off the board since the dlc.

Pricing for what dlc's offer is way to high, but to be fair I am way more concerned about the lacks in general core game design, yeah session is good and has many good features like it's phisics and the flexibility in controls and stats, but the way this last is approached is far from perfect and it induces many problems due to it's stupid general approach to some aspects of the controls of the game and other quirks in the gameplay
Yeah, DLCs are good. But we actually need bug fixes, gameplay improvements and new mechanics.

I got a feeling all the players who have adjusted to two sticks on xl and session (which feels way better then single stick imo) aren’t going to like going back to that on skate maybe I’m wrong but when I play skate now after mastering both xl and session I can’t really play it as long as I used to and I already confirmed with the homie who’s testing skate as of right now it’s still single stick.

i started on ps4, so i had pedestrians off for performance reasons, but i still have them off after switching to pc. they seem to have all the pathfinding programming of the dvd logo screensaver lmao just walk in a direction until you hit something, then change direction and repeat

Being bought out by a shitty publisher like Nacon really was the worst thing that could happen to Session. Wow I had no idea the map looks so bad compared to teh real life spot until you compared it. Those missing textures feel like the "help I'm stuck in a shoe factory" note in the bottom of the box.

With all the mtx, passes and etc, I actually doubt that the new skate will be a big success like 2 and 3 was, people don't trust EA anymore at all. As for the Paris map, especially for me, the waterfront area alone make it worth the money

I'm a long time Session player i played the game when it was just a kickstarter and you were prison dude inside of a jail courtyard and that was the whole map. I've always been on creatures side with Session and in my opinion i really think they just gave up with the game bc they already acheived the success they wanted.
It's sad to admit it but this is just how I feel and i guess I'll just have to switch to skate 4 when it comes out and just play realistic. It is what it is I guess

The animations are just too awkward for my taste. They don't look particularly good the way fully canned animations do, giving the tricks weird, unrealistic movements that look the same every time but without fluidity. I've been hoping since the Kickstarter days that the devs would improve the physics and animations, but I accept that it will never change at this point. Also, not having transitions is just dumb. What kind of "simulation" purposely ignores a large percentage of what is possible in a sport? The devs specifically said they aren't going to work on transitions, so, like, lol. It's not a "simulation" if they aren't going to include the basics of the thing they are trying to simulate.
I’m not getting skate 4. I started playing simulators and I can’t go back to arcadee shit. Session is by far THE BEST skateboarding simulator.
If a suit thinks nobody likes a game they are in control of because of review bombing, they will justify to shareholders/publishers that it is not worth it so to milk it for what it is worth. Just saying if you want it to actually get better, review bombing and destroying the publish image of the product isn't going to do that.
It still feels like playing a wonky beta, the game has no vibe at all, it feels sterile and playing it mostly feels like a chore.
The skater being super stiff is the crazy part , not realistic at all

I played Skate 3 realistically for like 10 years before XL and Session came along. So did many other people.

Unless feedback is resoundingly positive when it releases (and they allow for dual stick control similar to Session/XL), I'm personally not touching skate. Everything I've seen from it looks bad, EA's track record in the last 10+ years isn't great, it being F2P doesn't instill a bunch of confidence, and going back to the Skate games after playing XL and Session just didn't do anything for me.
I enjoyed the dlc but man my runs get ruined by this glitch I get when I grind, my feed flip around and it looks horrible, Honestly for 8$ it’s not bad, I just want new hair and clothes options, maybe get creature skateboards and get the skater “David Gravette” in there too.. fix some bugs and animations

Creature are the heart of the operation. Nacon the head. Sadly, lately at least it feels like the head is hindering the ambition and vision of the devs. It may show further issues as School Yard was so buggy and I really didn't like it and the "fixes" broke more than it fixed imo.
Not trashing the studio. I just feel different since Nacon stepped in. The communication is lacking since too. Just doesn't feel like the community are connected much to the devs.
Hope it's a blip, but they're not gonna be able to milk it without more innovation again. So something more than an engine upgrade needed. The engine feels dated as is. That's more mandatory than a selling point by now.

Guys i cant open my object dropper in session, I do pressa R1 when im off the board and nothing happens, I did buy objects but ye nothing works. it used to work but then i re installed the game and now it doesnt.
Do you have mods installed? I know the pin dropper mod breaks the object dropper sometimes.

Last I heard that wasn't in the plans, unfortunately.
The truth is that Session is still an early access game by all defintions. They can say 1.0 but it's not feature complete, and by definition it's still a pre alpha build of this project. And charging for levels and content like this just doesn't jive with people when a game is unfinished and in a condition like session. Most of the negative reviews for the DLC are because of the ethics of this, not necessarily the quality of the maps. Though this map is the first one that really doesn't seem good enough quality.
all my friends on playstation are just happy they get to play the game.
which, also increases the revenue they get, as, more people are able to give them money for the game.
thats the thing people dont realize, sure, it rubbed some people the wrong way, but the core playstation audience has been able to play the game for the last year or so,

If you place yourself as the "realistic" skate game, why make maps totally unrealistic by botching spots. le dome, the lyon pyramid in paris, creteil, the creteil orange banks, ... they also added some random "homemade" spots when could have put some similar spots actually from the city
they fucked up so many details of paris actually. for example the sign "rue barrée" at 13:50 (at the moment you're saying they did a good rendition of it), is not to be seen in france at all. it looks more canadian to me. The ground (except at republique), looks like what you would find in other big european cities, but not in paris. some benches, some barrier, some buildings, ...
the texture work is really bad, and they changed colors of some spots, why? (i e the weird fontain being green instead of blueish dark grey, the wavy ledges going grey instead of flashy blue).
just look at the modded map 'le dome" for skaterxl. this is a good rendition of a spot.
they would have improved the map a lot if they had input from someone living there while making it. if they make maps for other cities hey definitely need a consultant from those cities.

Like the main thing they could add is a put down and cannoball animation. Like cmon open up blender and spend some time on it. And add it to a dang patch. Im tired of glitching onto my board. And work on transition please. So many maps are useless because you cant skate the transition. Creature studios is why im done buying early access games.
