The drone shot is not the best, it’s impossible to get the height reference from it. Honestly for each jump I wish they had a still camera from the spectators view showing the ground. That way you see just how insanely high their going.
They showed every one from the ground too. The drone shot is sick because you see how scary it is hanging up there about to plunge 40+ feet down to the ground
I just met and hung out with Gillium Navas at my local skatepark in socal, he's going to Anaheim 1 tonight. He's the most down to earth cool guy, super humble and nice. I had to come watch this after hanging out with him.
It would be so easy in videos like this to just take 10 or 15 seconds to say how the heights are measured, where they're measured from (The runup level? The top of the ramp? The landing ramp? Are all the ramps the same in different venues? etc.). Just a brief explanation of the technicalities, not too much to ask in a half hour video surely? People like me who stumble across these videos and aren't so familiar with this sort of thing would appreciate little touches like that and perhaps be more inclined to watch more videos like it.
Other events I saw they actually had a measuring device behind the quarter pipe. Agree with you cause it's a bit confusing to know how they measured these heights
Yeah I was wondering same thing it used to be video calculations using the pole as a reference for scaling but without the pole i have no idea. unless it’s the ramp is now the reference. Any kind of transponder wouldn’t work because it goes off highest or lowest point of bike (can’t remember which) and transponder wouldn’t work for that
Do the riders have some sort of GPS transponder on them to determine their height? Is it done off the drone somehow? How is the height calculated? Anyone know?
Why are we freaking out about mid 40s? The step up record was 47ft, and they had to go over a bar. They have a nice landing and don't have to go forward, so until the record is 60ft I will not be impressed. Grab a gear and a parachute.
I’m pretty sure step up was 47 feet from the floor. Quarter pipe measures from the top of the 18 foot ramp. So we’re 67 feet above the ground. Both are pretty savage events tho, crashing would suck either way.
Talking about Corey's accident and the concussion that left him with temporary amnesia..At 42 year's old I can tell you you will have regrets later on in life man and need to hopefully not hit your head like that ever again. I wished I had listened to my doctor's when I was younger and had multiple head injuries and concussions, one similar to his where don't remember a period of time to this day and suffered another bad one in '00 when broke my neck practicing for an upcoming ATV race. I've continued to have more health issues over the years related to those injuries and all my doctor's now suspect I have full blown CTE although won't know until the day I'm no longer here. It sucks to have uncontrollable "twitches" or spasms and memory decline more and more, nvm the terrible mood swings and everything else..I wish you the best of luck everyone just please protect your brain as it's the only one you have 🙏
As someone with multiple head injuries including one where I had to relearn the walk or even stand up unassisted for that matter I agree it messes with you in more ways than you think. Heck I’ll never be able to even balance myself enough to even stand up in a completely dark room or with my eyes closed
Yes, much respect to these guys !! Of course ! But where are the females Now ?? Coking, or in a feminist protest ? It's not fair! Women should b there to prove once for All sexes equality and also to preserve new age parity ! Can anyone ask them to come in the competition ? Thank you very much !
X Games Are Back!!!
Just need fans to make it 100%
Raha played that very smart. Made Axel think he was maxed out under 46 feet then absolutely went to his limit last run.
No kidding wasn’t no way he was gonna send it that hard while he still had a chance to answer back and then have to send it even harder if it got beat
This has got to be the single scariest, most dangerous event in X-games history. Even the announcer was sweating!
The step up competition was really sketchy too. I wish they still did it.
That's so gnarly.....Colby is like his own MM
Colby & Axell are on another planet, that was crazy.
Wow. Absolutely insane! Can't believe how high they were going and how much they beat the previous record by. Amazing!

@@PlaySA agree with both of you, keep the drone but try to improve the “immersion”
49ft 😲😲😲😲😲😲 what an absolute beast 💪 👏
Mad respect for these guys! So awesome to watch!
This is crazy!

Raha is such a nice guy, well deserved!
Colby wearing the Slayer shirt at the Slay ground..... you know that has some double meaning
How’s bilkos form “just short by 2 inches… I’ve heard that plenty of times before” 😂🤣
I love the commentators talking about Nitro World Games.
Nitro became what XGames forgot.
Attempting to do this would be my final moment... I'd be a splatter on the dirt 50 yards from the landing
This needs a million views 😳😳😳

QP went off this year! Felt like watching old school X Games!
yo thats hella crazy! I get chills when theyre coming down.
They are going crazy high
If Ronnie Mac was there, he would have won with a height of 69'.
Never thought I'd see McNeil ride a four stroke😂
That’s insane!!!! Holy cow man! 😮
Colby is such a savage!
I can't even make on the stairs that high.....jesussssss 🤣
slay ground slayer
How are the measuring the height? Usually that big bar thing is there

Music at the end when they show the medalists?
Do the riders have some sort of GPS transponder on them to determine their height? Is it done off the drone somehow? How is the height calculated? Anyone know?
They used to have the height pole but i see that its not there this year
Step up will still be my favorite!
High flying 👍🏻👍🏻
50ft on 2023?
1st dudes pit vipers are sick
no high jump this year! so lame
What are you taking about? step up got so boring after 10 plus years and they where going nearly twice the height on the quarterpipe
COLBY RAHA: ONE BAD MO FO!!!!! ROCKSTAR RAHA. Winer, winer, winer !!!!
Nice jump dudz🤓👍👍👏
So insane 🤘🤘
That was wild

You couldn’t even do a quarter of you only went 10 feet in the air so until you can do what they are doing no one will be impressed

next year. people are going to crash.. it's crazy...
Why won't any of these videos play in USA?????
