I played this my freshman year and there were three trumpet players I was the only first part and lemme tell you... this song was the most fun, painful, hard song i've ever played. I busted my lip so many times
at least you're probably not like our bands percussion :( They can be really good at times but they barely practice, so it's very rare to hear their talent.
Went back to the JW Pepper site and listened to that recording. That recording is accurate with the score. Measure 138 is in 5/4. Don't know what happened to Partituras. Their recording is very good. It's a very hard piece and that moment between 136 - 140 has to be conducted accurately, with 4-5 time changes in 4-5 measures with very powerful orchestration.
Measure 138 as recorded isn't in 5/4, it's in 4/4. It actually makes more sense that way. I'm conducting this with a community band this month and I've been through this passage 20 times. The score shows measure 138 as 5/4, in the recording its played in 4/4 with the last count dropped. As this was done with the publisher's band I'm presuming that's what is wanted.
Same. My band is playing this piece for our upcoming concert and the triplets drive me insane. I'm not sure if it's this exact arrangement but I'm pretty sure it is
When you’re in quarantine in your band director tells you to do your music and you don’t know how it goes
I'm here for the exact same reason
I hope you never see the drum part it's so difficult even with the video it's hard 😅
Yep I’m here for that 😂
@@thomasfelten23 only the last page (He's a Pirate) because of the two very different Rythms (Snare Drum and Bass Drum)

1st clarinet on this - so much fun 🎉
The saxophones tho
The Pepper doesn't have the entire piece recorded so I'm grateful to the Partitis recording as a reference. That section was simply confusing.
I got timpani on this track
timpani solo sounded so good when my band did it

I am listening to this song, with my music sheet arranged in front of me, and having a panic attack wondering how I'll play something like this
I'm playing this and I'm a freshman 1st chair... rip I was not expecting this
It's not that hard as it Look like
Right, but I’m playing this and am learning 2 parts one melody and 1 bass line and I’m confused but it just takes time like everything
I’m playing the 2nd alto sax part to this and I think I got it down pretty well, like literally my concert is TONIGHT
The journey of 1000 notes starts with a single squeak/blat. You'll get there, my friend

Trumpets!!!!! Love being a trumpet especially for this arrangement🎺
Definitely loved being a section leader/1st trumpet during this piece. That upper range felt great 👍🏼
Trumpet one on this piece in middle school is really fun
nahhhhh im the only first trumpet and i can’t hit most the notes
Sight reading this song is certainly a treat but we trumpets make light work💪

I love this arangment mainly because the woodwinds actually have the melody for once
woodwinds like always have the melody with the trumpets
Snare on this is 👌👌

Uma das melodias mais impressionantes que já ouvi. Transmite todo tipo de sentimento ao mesmo tempo. Do medo a vitória
