.. you need to get those Boenicke w5’s on stands and in thai set up ... i think you will be impressed .. still awaiting my Hugo 2 .. did get my BNC to 3.5 mm Digital WireWorld Gold Starlight cable .. to get a signal in .. Will be making a donation ..
Fair enough. Glad to see you enjoyed Bristol I did attend the Friday and enjoyed some of the setups only a few, the room that peeked most of my interest was the Malvern audio research room was wondering if you had a peek, found it one of the most natural sounding rooms at the show
Clark Kent I didnt get to that room I ran out of time and missed the whole 4th floor and 10th floor which is such a shame but its long winded filming rooms and trying to make a video out of it. Only get round so many
Thanks for your review of the Chord Qutest. It is the first one I've seen. The linear power supply you used is a very good one, but how about the SBooster power supply. Have you tried it w/the Qutest? It is a little cheaper.
Ed Incleve I havent got to my full review yet but I am keeping people posted on how I am getting on and what I am trying. I have only tried a battery and the linear thus far thanks for watching and commenting
Rob Watts emphatically states that linear power supplies will always make the Chord sound worse due to RFI, stating his SPS filters out all possible noise. Any thoughts on that?
Pursuit Perfect System Thanks. I have a really decent LS power supply that I’m itching to try. It does have a 5v usb output but want to make sure it’s a steady true 5V before monkeying with it.
Pursuit Perfect System will be happy to report back. I’m saving up for the M-Scaler. My main system has an MSB Analog DAC and this little chord is giving it a good run for its money! Anyway I do enjoy your videos, your enthusiasm and passion for this hobby that some of us just programmed to chase after! Cheers!
linn jazzy at the moment yes mate for power only though not for signal. from the linear power supply to the qutest via an adaptor. The Qutest having a micro usb input is a pain but cant have it all :)
I only use the Insightful filter - on the hugo 2 when you changed the filters to make the sound warmer and softer it robbed the dac of its magic. I havent tried them on the qutest but they will be the same for sure.
Great video you say you are waiting for the iso acoustic isolaters but why don't you just use the get a disks I recently followed you advise and purchased a set loved I found the greatest benefit was to my x8 subwoofer go figuar!
Clark Kent I was supposed to be working with them on a design for speakers. I feel it will be safer for a screw contact with the speaker, just resting a big heavy speaker on top is a potential hazard. a Subwoofer will have the highest box resonance of all things especially a sealed box sub. Draining cabinet vibratiom from a sub makes perfect sense for improved sound. Glad my videos are helping you I worked hard on the cera discs and know they are stunning :)
Wish you all the success on this project I was advised used four Cera discs can accomadate up to 60 kg Never the less I think the Cera disc could be a formidable alternative to the iso supports considering cost. Maybe you have heard of the DMSD 60 pro they are a step up from the iso kinda pricy £594 for 8 sets supports 180kg
Clark Kent you can add more cera to the cera disc to improve performance and take away the rubber o rings. Its not a weight thing more the speaker might topple over and destroy all in its path and be destroyed itself
It's sounding really good to me. The first word that comes to mind is balanced. Smooth too.
Top tune indeed, sounding amazing
wow phenomenal sound

If I added a linear power supply to a Cambridge Dac Magic will I hear any difference?
Probably not. Dacmagic 100 runs on non-linear AC power.
My bad I checked .It has an adaptor. Runs on 12V DC power.
Rob Watts emphatically states that linear power supplies will always make the Chord sound worse due to RFI, stating his SPS filters out all possible noise. Any thoughts on that?
yeah I have debated that with Rob Watts in person many times :)

@@NAVMAN987 yeah you need the right voltage otherwise you will damage the dac. Try it and see what you think and let me know

Hi thank s you for the video . Are you really using a ugreen usb cable ?
linn jazzy at the moment yes mate for power only though not for signal.

Hi tel, what hifi reviewer reckons the filters are all of a muchness ,he didn’t find a lot of difference between them,
I only use the Insightful filter - on the hugo 2 when you changed the filters to make the sound warmer and softer it robbed the dac of its magic. I havent tried them on the qutest but they will be the same for sure.

Boy you must play your music loud or may be your room is a kids playground lol!! Then I would say yes to that idea.
Clark Kent more that I am a clumsy idiot and likely knock the lot over :)
Pursuit Perfect System: What is our current dac?
Beautiful sound
