I feel sorry for that student who wants to come to Kenya for Kiswahili. 1. Kenyans speak Kiswahili but not as our Tanzanian brothers. 2. Unless she shows a deep interest in wanting to learn Kiswahili, Kenyans will always communicate with her in English. So when you come, make it clear to Kenyans that you have an interest in learning Kiswahili. 3. Majority of Kenyans know Kiswahili but it is mostly in the suburbs that the language is widely used.
