I think when their CEO got replaced, that was removing of the one that would at least smack down some mods for going 'too far ' This combined with the fact that 177 countries are STILL blocked from the game, this should be a case study in how mismanagement and ideology kills a successful franchise overnight.

Community Managers for servers... The new con of the era. No seriously. Twitter fired a bunch of these people and someone was curious to see where they went. All of the major companies seemed to have let them join their ranks as Sony is the one who owns and gets to decide what their games get for community managers. These CMs seem to have been brought from Twitter after they got fired and given new homes right in these 'official servers' which seem to becoming the dumping grounds for these rejects! Realizing that there are too many people who want to play Helldrivers had actually fought back... They are now doing their best to trim away the player base and replace it with anyone else. Seriously! This is why people hate Sony! A generous person might think it is about the bugs joke humor and their 'mutations' which is done as A joke. The fact the CMs are getting ready to ban people before anything is posted... Makes me think they are getting ready to dump +18 age rating furry porn on the server.
If this was 10 years ago, I'd doubt it. The furry fandom back then was trying really hard to downplay the adult side of the fandom and present a more wholesome image. Then it got the full progressive movement injected and suddenly it was being pushed as a 'lifestyle' like everything else.

If people don't like your furry art(which is rather understandable because how the hell is that helldivers related?) you don't get to just kick out the critics.

I think it's more generational as well... I was a Mod/Admin for a couple of Source engine games and never tone policed people like this and I never saw any other Mods doing it either. We only ever banned people for "Content" when they broke those really old school ToS's that you would also eject people from a TableTop meetup or convention for repeatedly breaking.
Ive had a feeling for a while Arrowhead is a company divided between a core group of OG dev's just looking to make a good game and an infitrating group of activists looking to sabotage it, the CEI having to bust himself down to take hands on charge of patching is not normal and implies he could not trust that team un-supervised. All the issues with Hell Divers have come from 2 sources, the balance team and the social media team, CEO took direct control of 1 and we'll find out Thursday if that was enough, the social media team may take longer, but Im betting the hope is if they can get the game pmay back on track the mods will be less of an issue as most players dont really go on the forums

But any other form can get your server nuked if someone reports it... Switched to Gilded but it seems like they're caving to the same things as well :/

Official Discord servers are cancer. Fan based ones have some logic to them. A fan base one polices itself as everyone who joins knows what they are getting into. An official one has paid community managers who are hired to beat the public into submission and push an ideology... Rather than anything related to whatever the server was about. After all if it is 'official' then they can claim it reflects the wider public... Right after they remove the wider public from it.

No seriously. Twitter fired a bunch of these people and someone was curious to see where they went.
All of the major companies seemed to have let them join their ranks as Sony is the one who owns and gets to decide what their games get for community managers.
These CMs seem to have been brought from Twitter after they got fired and given new homes right in these 'official servers' which seem to becoming the dumping grounds for these rejects!

Ive had a feeling for a while Arrowhead is a company divided between a core group of OG dev's just looking to make a good game and an infitrating group of activists looking to sabotage it, the CEI having to bust himself down to take hands on charge of patching is not normal and implies he could not trust that team un-supervised.
All the issues with Hell Divers have come from 2 sources, the balance team and the social media team, CEO took direct control of 1 and we'll find out Thursday if that was enough, the social media team may take longer, but Im betting the hope is if they can get the game pmay back on track the mods will be less of an issue as most players dont really go on the forums

From the start the Helldivers 2 discord has been a downward spiral into deeper degeneracy.
While I'm sure the "downfall" of this game is quite saddening to those who were invested in it I can't help but feel vindicated for thinking the whole thing was a load of shit from the start. Glad now I avoided this and ignored everyone telling me I was wrong and that this one was "different"

It's already dead, buddy... Or, rather, dying. Ever since the moderator admitted to only banning the "bigots", aka only punishing one side of the political spectrum, it started to die. Then KuSony-gate happened. Then the bans for reacting negatively to alphabet mafia trash. Then the bans for simply saying "we don't want identity politics in the game".
And now we have this issue. A mod literally forcing their deviancy on the other Discord users, and banning people that don't like it and react as such. The community is already abandoning the game in droves. The game has less than 10% of its peak, and the numbers are continually falling, at a drastic rate. Yesterday, the peak was 49k. Today it's 41k. They lost nearly 20% of their players, OVERNIGHT, on a FRIDAY. If it doesn't recover tomorrow, on Saturday, it likely won't. Ever
Every time I think about buying the game I remember this hot garbage and put it back on my ignore list.
