Sure. It is up to you. I used construction paper because it makes the card sturdier. I recommend using construction paper. But if you don't have it, A4 is fine too.
Even i use the A4 cards. But i have no idea about the size of the final outcome. If i take a A4 card by folding into two is it oki? Without cutting into halves? You have taken construction cards and cut into two. Then card will be too small right?
