Hi Sami! I like how Nord Lead sounds in this style of Trance/Progressive scene as in this demo. I also like the ambience of Deep Mind. I am thinking about getting hardware synth and was checking out different demos of synths. Of course I like TI and JP8080 but those for now are out of reach and they are also more like for Uplifting and Classic style of Trance which are amazing as well. While listening Moog Sub37 and other synths through your demos and other demos on yt. I am liking so far based on the demos Deep Mind and Nord Lead for Trance/Progressive exploration while learning those synths how to program. Medusa' sounds as well Erebus 3 sound pretty cool as well. Does Nord Lead have a lot of potential of getting a lot of very interesting Trance/Progressive sounds and the Deep Mind? Is it actually worth getting them and learn synth programming while soft synths like Hive, Spire etc. sound amazing as well with tons of presets which I have. Also, looking forward to more new of your very interesting videos, sounds and music tracks.
Hey! Thanks for your message. It's a big question for a lot of people. For me, I decided to try things out to find out for myself. I personally do value the Nord Synths even though I have all the VST's. The Nord A1 and 4 are really good in particular. There is something about sitting with a HW unit and just trying different things, without having to necessarily think too much. You can get to some interesting places.
Can you please describe what is going between 1:30 - 1:50? I like this vowel sound very much, but don't really understand how to archive this. This sound like high resonance LP filter somehow modulated. Thank you very much in advance!
The LFO is modulating the filter cut-off and yes there is some high resonance. I didn't do anything else beyond that. It's a very cool sound just because of the character of the Nord Lead!
Sounds sexy and analogish... Is the nord lead 4 multi timbral like the access virus ti with various waveforms...? What should I get my hands onto...? Access virus ti (used) Nord lead 4 (used) Or a brand new nord lead a1 which is still available in the Market?
Hello, very nice! I bought a korg sequencer and need to connect it to a nord lead a1: I really don't know how to do that. Would you be able to explain me what should I do? Thank you!
Really nice, love the sound! Would you say that the lack of effects on the NL4 is a big deal? The NLA1 have multiple effects and can run them in the same time and the NL4 have 2 and can use only 1 at a time..
It's really good for those. Especially plucks and pads. It's older so it doesn't use USB MIDI. You'll need a MIDI interface to get Cubase to "talk" to it. And then you'll need to record it's audio outputs into Cubase via your Audio Interface.
this might be a completely "noob" question, but i don't quite understand something... how are you inputing the notes relevant to the keyboard? each video i've seen it seems the pads don't correlate to the actual keys if that makes sense. i was just made aware of the beatstep today and intend to get one to sequence some older cv and midi synths with, but it seems a bit over my head (i'm quite tech-dumb). i was originally looking for a sequencer as easy as the one on my sh-101 and while the price of this is great, i don't know if i'd "get it".
Sorry, I think I missed this. The pads correspond to the position in the loop. The notes are set by the knobs. There is no visual display of what notes are programmed as the knobs are endless rotary.
Very Tangerine Dream like. Great job. I'd like to hear more examples of the Nord Lead 4 with it's more digital sounding wavetables like Bells, Tines, Piano, Digital etc. I'd love to see if it can get some of those PPG/DX7 type tones.
I just got the beatstep and I also have the nord lead 4 but I cant get sound. I'm going midi out on beatstep to midi in on nord.. am i missing something?
do u have a limiter on so it doesnt blow up ur speakers? i never use limiters while producing.. u think its a good idea? i mean not in a sonic shaping sorta way but to protect ur monitors/ears perhaps
+Takashi Kojima I think monitors usually have built in limiters, but if I think something could explode in volume I do use limiters just to protect my ears and monitors, yes.
+Project #G as long as those devices are sending the clock signal I would have thought the NL4 would just latch on to it automatically. I'd check the manual though if you can't get them to pair up.
The Nord Lead A1 is needlessly limited. It's quite crippled in some ways, but on the other hand it has a really nice effects section. If you want to do more common (but beautiful) sounds like brass, pads, bass get the A1 I am sure you will like it. The Nord Lead 2 is really nice but there are no effects and it's got a few less filter types and might sound a little darker. There is a big price difference though so it depends on what matters. I don't think there is a huge difference between them but the A1 has the edge.
@@AiynZahevSounds I agree with you, after reading a lot about them and going through the features of the A1, it seems a bit frustrating to me, If I was to spend I'd rather get the NL4 :) One day :)
+Tzachi Keinan Well I dont have either anymore so which one would I buy back? I think the Nord because its polyphonic, has 4 parts and I like its sound a lot. Id likely look into the Nord Lead 2. Nord's more suited to trance too.
Well, sound is quite subjective, but as far as actually emulating an analog synth, which is what VA's are supposed to do, I think the Nord does it better. It's filters are a bit more authentic, it has faster envelopes and fast LFO's and it does cleaner FM, but it's not that far ahead of the TI. It's really limited when it comes to modulation and effects. Subjectively I'd say NL4 sounds tighter and more defined than than the Virus. The Virus still has a character that works really well for me.
Finally someone using Nord properly...I just keep hearing loud distorted organs sounds everywhere else..thanks
forreal
i need share some off my nord patches, I noticed no one every layers patches and split the keyboard.
Utterly beautiful melody. Would love to hear the full song.
Thank you :)
No matter how many times
Beautiful!
Now i want a Nord Lead 4 even more :)
+Johan Wallenborg Yeah and I want it back! lol
Wow ! Sounds absolutely massive
Nice clip 👍🏻 thumbs up for Nord Lead 4 and your performance...
Proper trance sound!
Beautiful!

I can't get my nord lead 4 to sinc with anything. I have a keystep and a nord lead. Please help!
Sounds sexy and analogish...

Access virus ti (used)
Nord lead 4 (used)

Nice sounds
Hello, very nice! I bought a korg sequencer and need to connect it to a nord lead a1: I really don't know how to do that. Would you be able to explain me what should I do? Thank you!
Hi. Yes sure just connect the MIDI OUT of the Korg, to the MIDI IN on the Nord
hello, nice one! how did you set the nord lead in midi setup? i am trying to sequence it with the Digitakt but the synth is not responding.Thanx!
Amazing Synth. woow!!!
Next Synth!
Really nice, love the sound! Would you say that the lack of effects on the NL4 is a big deal? The NLA1 have multiple effects and can run them in the same time and the NL4 have 2 and can use only 1 at a time..
+TheCleansingx Thank you. No doesn't make a difference to me. It's the raw sound of the Nords that is so good.
is nord lead 2 x good for bass, pads, and plucks, and how can i connect the nord lead 2x into cubase, how does that work, midi to cubase?
It's really good for those. Especially plucks and pads. It's older so it doesn't use USB MIDI. You'll need a MIDI interface to get Cubase to "talk" to it. And then you'll need to record it's audio outputs into Cubase via your Audio Interface.

do more videos with nord lead 4

Man, I love the NL4, best one so far imo.
The Nord Lead 4 is by far the best Nord Lead ever.
Johnny V - Nord Lead 2X is ✊ and We all know it

The bass on this is glorious...
Any chance you could share some info on this patch?
Thanks, best I could do really is point you to the panel and see what you can see. It's mainly the unison I think that makes this one sound so phat.
I just got the beatstep and I also have the nord lead 4 but I cant get sound. I'm going midi out on beatstep to midi in on nord.. am i missing something?
Could be that the arturia is sending MIDI out to the wrong channel. Does the nord work with MIDI when connected to your computer via USB?
Can you ratchet steps on the Beatstep?
do u have a limiter on so it doesnt blow up ur speakers? i never use limiters while producing.. u think its a good idea? i mean not in a sonic shaping sorta way but to protect ur monitors/ears perhaps
+Takashi Kojima I think monitors usually have built in limiters, but if I think something could explode in volume I do use limiters just to protect my ears and monitors, yes.
thanks man :)
How you get the sound from NL4 to Beatstep? Do you use any program to record? i have same setup but i cannot get the sound from NL!! need your help :(
+Project #G Beatstep sends MIDI, using the MIDI connector. You just need to make sure the NL4 and Beatstep are using the same MIDI channel.
+AiynZahevSounds Thanks man) NL4 was on different MIDI channel! Do you know how i can send MIDI clock to NL4 from NI Machine or another external gear?
+Project #G as long as those devices are sending the clock signal I would have thought the NL4 would just latch on to it automatically. I'd check the manual though if you can't get them to pair up.
can that thing also record what you play like the msq-700
what you think about the nord lead 2x, not a good idea to buy 1? or should i just save up and wait for a a1 lead

@@AiynZahevSounds Do you think the NL 4 is less capable than the A1 for those common sounds? Would love to know your opinion
@@khalidali3252 I think it's more capable, no?
@@AiynZahevSounds I agree with you, after reading a lot about them and going through the features of the A1, it seems a bit frustrating to me, If I was to spend I'd rather get the NL4 :) One day :)
If you had to choose between your nord lead 4 and dsi pro 2, what would you keep and why?
+Tzachi Keinan Well I dont have either anymore so which one would I buy back? I think the Nord because its polyphonic, has 4 parts and I like its sound a lot. Id likely look into the Nord Lead 2. Nord's more suited to trance too.
how would you compare NL4 with Virus TI

so you have both?
I did at one time, but I only have the Virus now, had to sell the NL4 but I miss it
great melody. Now you just need some: bum...bum. tishh bum....bum.....tishh
hvass8370 Indeed, drum machine donations accepted...
Haha... got the same issue ;D
AiynZahevSounds Isn't it a Nord Drum we can see beneath the keyboard? ;)
MikroXdrums Haha, I was waiting for someone to point that out. Don't have it anymore I'm afraid!
That's a pitty :)
Good job with that gear though! Cheers :)
Same melody during 3... -_-"
Theophile Bourgeois yeah I know. It's not much of a performance but I didn't intend it to be, it's just an example of how the nord sounds.
