Puddletown bookshop is worth a detour if passing by. Anything of specific interest has usually been listed online but I tend to come away with something to read. Quiet village location but Blue Vinny pub is up the road for refreshment.

Absolutely, I had a book off them through mail order and made the detour. I did well, far better than at Honiton.

Glad you reminded us of this video Jules, it didn't come up for me for some reason. As an Aussie of English descent I get such a sense of joy, looking virtually around these lovely Southern towns at the architecture and I guess I can only say quaintness. Perhaps one day I get to experience it for real

Thanks Anthony, something odd went on with this one, that's why I re-shared it again. If you ever get over here, you'll have a list of places to go!

splendid selection of vintage pbs Jules........
Zane Grey was indeed incredibly popular in days gone by...
his real name was Pearl Zane Grey and he was born in Zanesville in Ohio...
he even named one of his classic westerns Betty Zane !

It was great in Puddletown but I'm not sure how fast their stock turns over. Worth a trip once a year I think.

Great to see all those Folio Society books on the shelves. Those are pretty uncommon in the USA. You would never see that many in a bookstore here.

They did have a great collection of these. I like them but only have two in my collection.

Fantastic! These stores are very well established with quite large inventories.
