Gilbert Nicholas You only say that because you don’t have these problems. If you did have these problems, it would take up far more of your time than you would now think.
Gosh I remember seeing actual Hawaii dwellers complaining how everything is so expensive for people who are actually born and raised there and these rich people just have this multi-million properties that they treat as homes they use for certain times a year. The real tragedy is for the real Hawaiians.......
Basically showing that no matter how much money you have, as long as there's somebody with more money than you, you're always getting shit on by someone upstairs.
The issue is that the BILLIONAIRE's don't need to rent out their homes, nor do they care about resort fee's. So they pushed the resort to do this to the "millionaire's" who can get as much as $500K per year in rental fees. The Ultra rich want the whole thing for themselves, and this is how they're doing it.
Imagine how the natives of these islands felt when you Gentefied their land. Looks like a bigger fish came along ay!? Now billionaires are buying up whole Hawaiian islands. So disgusting.
Rich people arguing against other rich people, when people of the land will NEVER EVER even get close to the lowest of the millionaires on the list because it is too many chess pieces against the poor
Its gonna be interesting to see how it plays out, with the devaluation of the property here an investment in other locations in Hawaii or other tropical islands may be a wise move
+Big Worm Property investment is like stocks, at one point they're up and at one point they're down, the value will come in the property that creates the most pleasant environment and right now Four Seasons is seeing what their true value is. That's just how gentrifying works, if you create value, people will wanna capitalize off of it. It'll be interesting to say the least though, yes!
It comes down to basic economics. The homeowners are akin to people who paid a hefty fee for a multi-generational buffet pass. The hotel guests in this analogy is someone paying every day all year long. On a YoY basis, the hotel guests are bringing in orders of magnitude more money than the homeowners. Sure the homeowners paid a one time 10+ million dollar sum. But the hotel is bringing in millions a year from their bottom of the class, single, 700sq ft room thats not even facing the ocean! Imagine what their ocean view, ocean front, suites, or the vaillas are bringing in. Without the hotel guests they can't sustain the amenities and retain the talent at Ulu and Beach Tree. If I was the billionaire class, I'd open up my own bar / restaurant for the homeowners. Sure it may cost a few million / year to sustain something decent... but divided across all the homeowners, it should be well below their means. Alternatively just rent out the villa all year round. If they fight the hotel they can't win. One of two things will happen - 1. The hotel wins 2. The homeowners win, there will be less guests, less revenue, and Ulu and Beach Tree will be staffed by lower caliber employees So you get nothing or you end up with Macroni Grill Hualalai. It's a lose lose situation for homeowners. Hotel won't bite the hand that feeds them and sadly that's not the homeowners.
If they were truly rich, they would buy the hotel and establish their own rules, but that would require some mental strength, and these people lack that. They’ve spent too much time lounging and not enough working for control over themselves.
When really rich people say its not about the money, its about the principle, Ill say the same when I demand a raise since I only make 9.44 an hour lpart time living in the highest taxed state. LOL.
Resort owners post high paying jobs over seas! Hawaiians have no chance with over seas management..EVER! They will favor others from over seas and push you out of job and home. ITS THE RESORTS..
Suffering is patience long suffering is shortsqueese end aka resting in peace lol compared what got in store lol retail online no more boosting credit pay forit gets delivered no inflation i own all monopoly better wise no inflation federal post office large civilian warehouses and civilian deliveries workers that work for living not govt kill a bites doing nothing efficiently really great economy who fwd guidance is downgrading numbers great after this transition knowing legit really.
+Jmad0113 You know what that's my bad. I totally forgot how many trolls there are on RUclips like yourself. Irrationality, my friend is not a beneficial nor desirable trait to possess. You'll be a lot happier without it. But hey that's just my ¢2, ✌🏽️.
+jrDNis how was it a useless story...I wanted to watch it, nobody forced you to watch it. We where all inclined to watch based on the title of the video.
The title used inclined us all to view the video: I won't argue with that. However the title itself was misleading. The video is actually about the hotel chain fighting with the residents of the surrounding area. Who comprise of both millionaires and billionaires. Some of the residents may intact be fighting with each other concerning the hotels changes; however that is NOT what the story covers. The fight is between the hotel chain and the residents, who are not for the hotels increase in fees. Thus it was a "useless story" based upon the content vs. the title. The lack in truth from Bloomberg regarding the video subject is my issue, and should be others as well. We as a nation need to hold our government, media and each other to a high moral standard. I have a nigh respect for Bloomberg, I believe they are generally above the "gotcha journalism" we see so prevalently in todays media.
That spongebob soundtrack
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Bikini bottom music
Spongebob vibes
I'm working on having these type of problems in my life

“Got financial problems? To bad”
I dieddddddd 💀💀💀
Basically showing that no matter how much money you have, as long as there's somebody with more money than you, you're always getting shit on by someone upstairs.
I felt like I was watching an episode of Spongebob.
Look, the rich are eating themselves. Where's Michael Jackson with the popcorn?
"those of us who spend millions of dollars deserve to be first in line..." That pretty much sums it up right there. freakin Haole.
As a business owner, why on earth would you value the cheap/lesser income over the people that HOLD YOUR BUSINESS UP? Haole? You're fucking lazy.
To the Four Seasons, the per-night guests are the ppl 'holding the business up' as u put it.
Millionaires vs Billionaires? That's like no competition.
Imagine how the natives of these islands felt when you Gentefied their land. Looks like a bigger fish came along ay!? Now billionaires are buying up whole Hawaiian islands. So disgusting.
"A bunch of rich people arguing about beach chairs!" 2:35
Ha ha!
Entitlement at its finest lol
Your millions are like homeless money compared to billionaire money.
That was funny Mark Zuckerberg was trying to kick out Hawaiian residents so he can build a custom made mansion and he lost
What the fuck is this!? This looks comical. Poor Millionares :( they are losing one of their thousands resorts :((
1:40 look like caren
this should be on Funny or Die
Rich people arguing against other rich people, when people of the land will NEVER EVER even get close to the lowest of the millionaires on the list because it is too many chess pieces against the poor
Congrats! You now know how gentrification works, welcome to the real world :)

What are the HoA of these properties if they can use the resort ? Hotel guests are sometimes paying upto 4500 a night either way it’s a choice

The production values in this video
If they were truly rich, they would buy the hotel and establish their own rules, but that would require some mental strength, and these people lack that. They’ve spent too much time lounging and not enough working for control over themselves.
I can deal with them problems
Rich people are kicking out other rich people. Ok.
+Um Hu Technically the corporation is kicking out all the investors
Lesser rich people
This is happening everywhere it's nice. Welcome to paradise.
These people are beyond insane
Wait until this incoming 150' Tsunami hits.
weird flex but ok
Will they soon have homeless millionaires there ?....
When really rich people say its not about the money, its about the principle, Ill say the same when I demand a raise since I only make 9.44 an hour lpart time living in the highest taxed state. LOL.
first world problems
Most heartbreaking social documentary I ever saw xD
Why the music ?
Tax 1%
It's a shame isn't it
this si why you need private land and not have an HOA or share your land with a resort for their amenities.
zero sympathy - the guests come first
That's fucked up.
Got financial problems..to bad!! Lol
Looks like this war is still going
How do Native Hawaiians survive that living expense?
+Matt By being homeless on the beaches.
Resort owners post high paying jobs over seas! Hawaiians have no chance with over seas management..EVER! They will favor others from over seas and push you out of job and home. ITS THE RESORTS..
Greed. I bet these people never really had it tough.
"nobody should have that kind of power over another population in the community"..- Bu La'ia

I despise them...
#Hawaii Problems
This is happening everywhere it's nice. Welc
Wtf is this? Is this supposed to be a comical take on the issue? The management is in the wrong...
great spongebob music
Sadly enough this is the way of life at many resort communities
Sponge Bob Music?
the music reminded me of Weeds
The intro song is Elvis’ Blue Hawaii.
The second song Aloha O`e written by Queen Lili‘uokalani, Hawaii’s Monarch.
Satire?

How could Bloomberg dedicate their time and money to such a useless story! I've definitely lost a good chunk of respect for Bloomberg today.
