My buddies and I ran a 6 man cube a few months back. Most of the players ranged from haven’t played in a decade to only tangentially aware of Yugioh, so we built it with no ED and predominately “old school” cards (though there were some modern cards that fit the theme). We all had a blast, Cube format is so underrated in Yugioh
I assumed the game was too archetype based for cube to work very well but this is cool!
@@2LettersSho oh yes, very playable! We didn’t even run any duplicate cards. We had well over enough cards for all 6 of us to draft 60 cards each (and still probably had a solid 3rd of the cube left over). We also didn’t run any duplicate cards nor extra deck cards. There’s a lot of room to make these work

Confused why some games were shown in their entirety, some were just clipped, and others seemed like they weren't shown at all? I get they might have been cut for a better video, but I assumed I'd get to watch all the matchups in action

CUBE is the closest Yugioh gets to the crafted Drafted sets made by Wizards of the Coast, and Magic players take for granted.

Yugioh needs waaaaay more of this. The festivals in master duel are great, but more formats would make the game so much better. I watched the masochist run farfa did and even that was great.
Coming from magic where we have like a billion different formats to play was kind of a crazy experience. Yugioh is the mtg equivalent of everything just being legacy format, which is uh... insane lol.
More formats master duel specifically would REALLY help the game.

Great video--if you do more of this in the future, could you include the drafting portion?
Is it me or is the synergy between the 4 guests just not there? Like they don’t have much of a conversation or reactions in comparison to something like Saga. Feels like their just making one-off comments most of the time. Either way still a good series and if it’s between the 4 of them going forward I hope they get more comfortable and bounce off one another.
I think they just need some time to let it go and we're also used to people like MBT and Doug which bounce really well with farfa and gage. Let's give them some time to develop.

You could totally use mtga draft, and just have the yugioh art be custom art. Drafting would be a lot more fluid and easier

Cube draft: Literally a minute of footage.
So why even include the draft it the video is going to be all about the decks and duels? I would put at least 5 minutes of the draft, not 1.
Reason being they didn't say a whole lot, they were all in a call so they didn't say much and it wouldn't have been interesting

Love the idea of the series, but to me this cut way too much of an intro, drafting process and deck profiles so it felt hard to get invested in the duels. Hope it gets better in future episodes

Farfa could Canadia the Beast then Fissure the Mimicking & Raiza the Beast instead, then again gage still has Sorc so he could still re-set the Beast, but atleast you taking mimicking out of the equation.

Can we get an episode of some kind where you open 30 packs, get the craziest deck or combo that you can build, make 1 player show it off against a meta deck and see if the meta deck can beat it? Then if the meta deck beats it the meta deck has to adapt a part of the combo if possible? Whoever has the best decks combos wins the episode? Would be long but it’d activate your brains if you get bored of the same weekly episodes and strategies too.
it always amazes me how broken yugioh cards are, like of the ones no one ever plays because they are completely dogshit. there is no excuse why cards like mimicking get printed that are clearly designed to be really strong cards in slower lower power environments and konami just goes: yeah they probably will play it in snake eyes or something like that.
