- Collecting fossilized shark teeth is always fun, but its not like there have been many innovations in techniques in the hunt to find a megalodon tooth. We walk around and surface collect first to see if we can spot one with our eyes. Sometimes we can just see them if we get lucky. Of course there is digging, and you see a lot of that on my channel. It doesn't get much more basic than sticking the shovel in the dirt and slinging the overburden aside until we spot a tooth. Then there is sifting also, where we shovel the material in a screen and then shake it in the water until only gravel remains and we can eyeball the fossils to pick them out. I started out by walking around picking up teeth and I noticed piles of loose material around the edges and I decided to splash those. I used my shovel to sling water at them and rinse away the surface sand to look for teeth that way. Its easier than sifting, plus I forgot my sifter anyway 🤣 and I wanted to save my back for digging the last part of the hunt. I ended up finding a bunch of teeth splashing, most of the stuff from today's video in fact. I would do that more often, but the conditions have to be right - there has to be enough water near a big pile of productive formation. Its opportunistic collecting at its finest.
Definitely some really solid finds in there! 👏🏼 01:50 was definitely one of my favourites
Awesome hunt! Love those Angustidens!
they are really cool teeth and this spot has some great ones!
Awesome teeth , congratulations on your finds
thank you!
Is the Sloth Party being held at a construction site of some kind? The sand had impressions like a tracked vehicle had recently wandered past.
its just a dirt pit.
Awesome finds the sloth party just keeps on paying out!
for sure! best spot ever!
Indeed that is a beautiful pattern around the 8 minute mark... And the next tooth is huge😮
103 is a good quota🗝✔️
thanks for watching and for your comment!
Amazing as always!
thanks for watching!
Holy Angi’s! I would be willing to volunteer my services to help the mystery guest be easier to forget haha! Some of those mysteries that will never be solved sure can make a person wish for an answer, but it’s still an awesome tooth. Looking forward to the next video!
lol thanks!
Can I ask where this is at? It seems there are tracks. Btw...I'm not sure why...but I didn't think you guys were still at it. Subscribed!!
i'm in too deep at this point there is no escape! I'll keep at it until father time says its time to stay inside haha! its a dirt pit so the tracks are from where a machine removed the sand above the formation.
Wow amazing! One of those angi would be my best tooth ever! Well done
keep on hunting there are lots of teeth out there waiting to be found!
Nice nice nice. Still out of the water. Got sick again right before a trip. Universe does not want me getting any teeth this year! Thx for sharing.
