Seems like instead of 'making you bigger' they 'shrink' you, and the world, to make you appear smaller. I really wish you could last a bit longer before evolving though, sort of a .. payback to all the bigger ones lol.
Another game like this is called Thrive, While you can pay for it you can have all of the features of the game for free, but it is a lot more scientific and has a lot more options.
What an architect mistake you made in your title, I am disappointed Matt... throughout your gameplay you correctly called them bacteria, but then called the bacteria a virus in your title. Also a fun fact about viruses: they are so so tiny, like our cell is x10 the size of a virus. The common cold virus is 30 nm and a blood cell is 100 µm, so a single blood cell is about x33 bigger than a rhinovirus. You could fit over 30,000 viruses on the tip of a pencil!
Highly recommend Thrive if you're interested in an in-depth version of the Spore cell stage! It's a collaborative project and still VERY in development, but the single celled stage is fully functional and incredibly in-depth, allowing you to purchase and move organelles via upgrade points. (and the last version I played had beta functions for the multi-cellular phase).
Seriously, I wouldn't recommend anyone do anything but pirate Spore, with such a draconian and hateful DRM even _after_ the concessions due to public backlash and lawsuit.
Engineers do NOT smell better. I am not an engineer but I've been to engineering departments and architecture departments at work and I'll tell you which department has the better hygiene. Engineers, esp tech, are FUNKY
this looks like a remake of osmos which is an older game. it doesn’t have the evolutions but it has great music and you move by flinging bits around and that lowers your mass, so you can’t just move erratically. also the bits you shoot out push non-motile cells which can help or hurt for a challenge. and the motile enemies are very challenging. also it shows whether you can absorb something by changing the color, and you can speed up or slow down time. if you enjoyed this you should really try osmos.
Classic architect revealin theyre smaller than an engineer by fleein. If they were smarter they wudnt flee the second the engineer cell gets bigger than them, as that just tells the engineer cell to go after them now
Yeah, as everyone say, COSMOS is better with different physics, and you must decide if run fast and reduce your size vs having patience and save energy by planning your moves. I'd love to see you playing it.
I can't think of anything funny, so I'll just say this: It's theorized that mitochondria was once it's own cell producing energy for itself and was consumed by a larger cell that didn't digest it, so the larger cell kept eating other materials and the mitochondria had an easier time producing more energy with the inflow of said material as well as the protection given by the larger cell
@@year6million Everything in science is a theory, even the evolutionary theory is a “theory”. However, the term theory is vastly different from colloquial use in science.
Best cell engineering game I've seen is Cell Lab, but it's waaay more complex than this. Would love to see how RCE fares in my world of bio-engineering though 😈
Alright, random and insignificant but the title says “virus”, while you’re playing as a bacteria! The two are sometimes used interchangeably, but they are wildly different. Bacteria are, undoubtedly, alive. They eat and produce offspring on their own/with a partner. They can be incredibly complicated, and some can even be visible to the naked eye! Viruses are… Odd. They’re very simple, usually being made up of a few proteins and a coating (Along with some other parts). They’re actually in a grey area between alive and not alive, as they don’t technically meet all requirements for life. They float around and latch onto cells, entering through its natural bodily functions. Once inside, they go in the offensive, hijacking the cell’s components and using it to reproduce hundreds of times. When they are done, they force the cell to self-destruct, spreading themselves everywhere to latch onto and breed in other cells. Maybe I just wanted a reason to rant about microbiology? Who knows…?
If u wanna be the ultamate lifeform just play any sonic game where u can play as shadow thsts literally his description as he was made with what was essentially the essence of immortality in him although they thought it was just something that could cure the main guy behind his creations grandaughters terminal desease but nope they made immortality which they were too dumb to only test half of in him before the gov shut them down ehen they feared the power he has and give a less potent vformula to his granddaughter
Installing spore is literally the worst part of spore. I'm not saying the whole rest of the game was great (or awful), just that I have terrible instalation related memories of spore.
game would definitely be like 1 million times better if it didnt force you into the next evolution and just let you run around and terrorize the red ones for a bit
I would greatly recommend you look at the game Thrive, so far its only the cell stage thats done but its loads of fun cause you design the inside of a cell and play as it over time as it evolves. I would also love to see you play it.
If you liked this, try a good oldie, Dr.Blob's Organism) It has nothing to do with eating architect butt, but you get to destroy some in a petri dish using tiny sonic guns, plasma casters and lightnings)
@Real Civil Engineer Have you ever looked into or heard of the Dyson Sphere Program? If you like big ol' research trees and lots of automation it's a good way to go. It's even in space and you can have factories on multiple planets!
If you want a deeper and "cell stage", definitely look at Thrive. Still deep in development, but the cell stage is quite polished and playable!
I was just playing thrive today
Just bought it, small price for a great concept
And free
Thrive is more of a advanced I guess system towards this game

A blood cell isn't that big, closer to 10 micron. So 300 times a viral diameter.
@@ckehung2450 ah thank you! I used volume of a blood cell instead of the diameter so my math was a bit off.
