    She didn't win the marathon. She won her age group. She's really impressive but let's not make fast and loose with the facts.

      @firelordplayz 5 месяцев назад +3

      Yep. And if "age was just a number" then she wouldn't need to be in a special "age group", she'd be beating 20 and 30-year-olds lol.

      @@firelordplayz Do you run marathons? For an average man or woman, I mean 30 to 40 years. An average marathon last between 3hrs and 5 hours. This woman ran 3hrs 20 min.... It's far better than average for being 65 years...

    I remember reading a SI article on her before the Olympics.She was in a store in her hometown and was very busy planning her upcoming wedding too.A lady and her young daughter were upset that Joan was too busy in the store to sign s autograph and pose for a pix.

    Muscle memory is great but the memories of past achievements can't be beat unless you are the competition. I guess this proves that everything that is old..is new again~ Congrats!

    I had the pleasure of meeting Joan and having a 1-2-1 conversation with her. A very humble person and amazing how she keeps running so fast. Some may say “oh she was an elite”, but to keep running these fast times is not a car of just turning up, you have to continue the hard training to keep the fast times times. I’m 62 and ran 3:02 the other week at Manchester Marathon and it doesn’t get any easier as we get older 🏆🏆🏆

      @@davevokey792 Yup, it's sad really. There are well over 8billion people in the world... and 8billion potentially creative, good quality content creators and artists... and most of us are gobbling up 2nd rate robot crap... cause we're too tired from running on our vapid-consumer treadmills to even come up with an original search idea on youtube, or googles... and yet I still have the energy to complain about the algorithmic overlords...

    is this an AI voice over as its pretty bad

  • @Sushbearious
    @Sushbearious 5 месяцев назад

    Why did he say the seconds before the minutes? "2hrs, 58secs, & 19mins" Is the narrator AI? 😠 Also, holy cow!! Her daughter is one of the best female marathoners in the world!! That time is less than 3 minutes off of the world record for women's marathon! 😲 Also, why did the soulless voice-over glaze over that profound detail, as if it were mundane? Lastly, the title of the video is click-bate-like... I don't think that I would've clicked on the video if that title had included... "in her age group." I mean, I would expect a former marathon champion to continue winning her age group in life, assuming she stays healthy, and keeps running. It used to be you could just ignore the tabloids in line at the grocery store... now check yourself out and go home to tabloids on your laptop, or phone... don't get me started on the mindless generic beat in the background... that was probably ai generated too somehow. We need to be careful... it feels like we're on the cusp of the point of no return when it comes to creating original, worthwhile art and content vs letting robots do it for us. I'm not saying her feat isn't still incredible... but come on "Sports Dive", don't trick people into thinking a 62 year old won the entire London Marathon.
