Really I think in terms of brilliance, it can come in many areas. It's not just abilities and academic talents, it's common sense, self reflection, wisdom, etc. I think this is where the heirarchy kinda flips at times. Webs is incredibly gifted for example, but more a naive blusterous kid that follows rather than leads, Diane is INCREDIBLY overconfident until near the climax of the film (and on a couple occasions panics like crazy because she only had one really good plan A and can't improvise as she goes along like the Bad Guys do), Wolf is super impulsive and has arguably the longest most chaotic turn to good (if as much due to flawed teachers as himself) and Marmalade carries every arrogant villain cliche in the book. One tidbit I like about the film is how they play off the manipulation angle, Wolf by the end of the film is still a 'manipulator', but graduated to 'inspirer', one that bases it on how brilliant the people around him are. He made a simple gambit with Diane and the other Bad Guys they could relate to and he knew that's be enough. He likely DIDN'T expect the Crimson Paw and Snake's master deception in response, but all the same, he knew one nudge and they'd figure out the rest. Marmalade by contrast is a standard arrogant manipulator, he barely used the actual strengths of the Bad Guys or Diane throughout the film (especially glaring since he seemed to KNOW Diane was the Crimson Paw), he just sees them as dumb pawns to use, and COMPLETELY underestimates Snake in particular. Diane kinda makes the same mistake, thinking she's a retired criminal god born among simpletons, though is good at slow self reflection throughout the film, and it's clear by the time the other Bad Guys rescue her that she's completely in on their synergy, especially with Webs. A truly brilliant person can accept they are still flawed and are not the only smart person in the room and play off of that. Really, Wolf is one of the most incredibly fluent leaders I've seen in kids fiction, even as a really flawed character. He can meet the most elusive person in his field that treats him like a walking punchline and convert them into one of his closest and most eager teammates, he can jump sides and fully convert his team likewise in about FIVE MINUTES with a push pop, hell, he can have his whole squad LITERALLY JUMP OFF A CLIFF with him all smiles by convincing them the cause is worth it. He's not even plot armoured to be this beloved idol like so many other good guys, he's just THAT convincing.
Only thing I would disagree with is him knowing Diane is Crimson Paw. It seems more likely he learned that from Snake since Diane had already revealed her identity to him by that point

I suggested the Bad Guys characters dumb to brilliant 2 days ago but I never expected them to actually do it, let alone so soon. I’m glad that they did, and I agree that Tiffany Fluffit is the dumbest character when it comes to intelligence since from what I have seen, she is a slave to the general public’s wishes and she only says what they want her to say. I also knew that Chief Misty Luggins was also low since she was always fooled by the Bad Guys. One could say Webs is a Mary Sue (along with Diana) but she is intelligently book accurate, in the original Legs (her male counterpart) is able to hack into the police data and pull up Mr. Snakes police file and change his data (and change it back) with a chip plug into sunny side network to turn off the alarms, pilot a space shuttle (something even agent fox (Diana’s counterpart) could not do, pilot a alien space ship and get its portal open so I think that Webs is just average intelligent compared on Legs. But I think she holds a candle and Legs would be proud of his female (movie) counterpart, ;)

I feel like Webs and Diane both benefit from appearing earlier than in the books to humanize them. In the books they're already good people, almost a bit too perfect, while in the film we see them undergoing the 'baby steps' of turning good like the others, making them a bit more flawed and dynamic (Diane has already turned, but is still learning to share that enlightenment, not to mention is still arrogant as hell about her track record as a villain). Remember being intelligent comes in many factors besides book/computer smart. I kinda see the movie Webs as the oldest 'kid' of the group before Shark and Pirahna, with Wolf and Snake as the 'parents'. She's super talented and reliable in her field of expertise and has a layer of common sense Shark and Pirahna don't, but still joins in on all the goofy group antics and bluster, and tends to just do what either Snake or Wolf tell her (though responds with flying colours). This is shown by how she's just as clueless to being 'good' as everyone else besides Wolf, though is the first and quickest to get it when he nudges them all along. She doesn't do any amazing gambits or stunts solo like Wolf, Snake or Diane, but as seen with the heists, her getting the rest of the group to join the dots with the push pop, or her elaborate work with Diane during the chase, she's perhaps the most awesome and concise teammate ever. I feel like Wolf is underrated for being a leader who knows not to be a micro manager, he knows his gang aren't stupid and if he gives a simple nudge they can do amazing things on their own, as shown brilliantly with the push pop gambit. Compared to Diane who thinks she's a retired burglar god dealing with simpletons originally, or Marmalade who just sees pawns to exploit everywhere (which backfires HORRIBLY with Snake), Wolf shows surprising lucidity in what others are capable of. His biggest downfalls were falling for Marmalade's plan (which everyone done) and not telling the group about turning good, which was more out of conflict in the moment, not wanting to let them OR Diane down. He also falls for that trap with the Golden Dolphin, which I admit was kinda dumb (feel like they should have had Marmalade put up a genuinely good trap there).
In my opinion, I think Diane is the smartest character because she was able to hide third, so Peniel diamond in plain sight. No one seem to catch that and she’s the only character who didn’t get tricked by anyone and yeah, she did fall in a trap that was wolfs fault then anything so that’s why I think Diane is the most smartest character in the movie
She did get tricked by Marmalade and Snake (granted EVERYONE did but still), and she almost lost the Golden Dolphin TWICE, first time out of hubris. I do feel like Diane is a smart character, but they play her off from the start as not as undefeatable as she thinks she is. She's likely used to going up against dumb cops than equally intelligent criminals.

I'm not saying the placement is wrong, but Mr. Wolf actually specifically engineered the gang's reaction when they got back to the empty hideout. It's tempting to say he DID give Mr. Snake his word that the plan didn't change and that he decided they should go good before that scene, but his reactions suggest he was ambivalent so he probably wasn't thinking that far ahead. That last push pop was totally his doing though.

Really the fact the ENTIRE CLIMAX of awesome moments and character development happened solely because Wolf pulled that little gambit with Diane and the other Bad Guys is astounding. Marmalade just barely manipulated everyone to bungle into the spot he wanted them to for his plan over a few days (and even then Diane is the biggest reason Wolf even turned to good), Wolf made this whole group work in perfect synergy on their own accord just by showing what a little goodness can do for them. I mean, the other Bad Guys turned good in what? FIVE MINUTES? Really I think in terms of brilliance, it can come in many areas. It's not just abilities and academic talents, it's common sense, self reflection, wisdom, etc. I think this is where the heirarchy kinda flips at times. Webs is incredibly gifted for example, but more a naive blusterous kid that follows rather than leads, Diane is INCREDIBLY overconfident until near the climax of the film (and on a couple occasions panics like crazy because she only had one really good plan A and can't improvise as she goes along like the Bad Guys do), Wolf is super impulsive and has arguably the longest most chaotic turn to good (if as much due to flawed teachers as himself) and Marmalade carries every arrogant villain cliche in the book.
One tidbit I like about the film is how they play off the manipulation angle, Wolf by the end of the film is still a 'manipulator', but graduated to 'inspirer', one that bases it on how brilliant the people around him are. He made a simple gambit with Diane and the other Bad Guys they could relate to and he knew that's be enough. He likely DIDN'T expect the Crimson Paw and Snake's master deception in response, but all the same, he knew one nudge and they'd figure out the rest. Marmalade by contrast is a standard arrogant manipulator, he barely used the actual strengths of the Bad Guys or Diane throughout the film (especially glaring since he seemed to KNOW Diane was the Crimson Paw), he just sees them as dumb pawns to use, and COMPLETELY underestimates Snake in particular. Diane kinda makes the same mistake, thinking she's a retired criminal god born among simpletons, though is good at slow self reflection throughout the film, and it's clear by the time the other Bad Guys rescue her that she's completely in on their synergy, especially with Webs. A truly brilliant person can accept they are still flawed and are not the only smart person in the room and play off of that.
Really, Wolf is one of the most incredibly fluent leaders I've seen in kids fiction, even as a really flawed character. He can meet the most elusive person in his field that treats him like a walking punchline and convert them into one of his closest and most eager teammates, he can jump sides and fully convert his team likewise in about FIVE MINUTES with a push pop, hell, he can have his whole squad LITERALLY JUMP OFF A CLIFF with him all smiles by convincing them the cause is worth it. He's not even plot armoured to be this beloved idol like so many other good guys, he's just THAT convincing.
Only thing I would disagree with is him knowing Diane is Crimson Paw. It seems more likely he learned that from Snake since Diane had already revealed her identity to him by that point

One could say Webs is a Mary Sue (along with Diana) but she is intelligently book accurate, in the original Legs (her male counterpart) is able to hack into the police data and pull up Mr. Snakes police file and change his data (and change it back) with a chip plug into sunny side network to turn off the alarms, pilot a space shuttle (something even agent fox (Diana’s counterpart) could not do, pilot a alien space ship and get its portal open so I think that Webs is just average intelligent compared on Legs. But I think she holds a candle and Legs would be proud of his female (movie) counterpart, ;)

I feel like Webs and Diane both benefit from appearing earlier than in the books to humanize them. In the books they're already good people, almost a bit too perfect, while in the film we see them undergoing the 'baby steps' of turning good like the others, making them a bit more flawed and dynamic (Diane has already turned, but is still learning to share that enlightenment, not to mention is still arrogant as hell about her track record as a villain). Remember being intelligent comes in many factors besides book/computer smart.
I kinda see the movie Webs as the oldest 'kid' of the group before Shark and Pirahna, with Wolf and Snake as the 'parents'. She's super talented and reliable in her field of expertise and has a layer of common sense Shark and Pirahna don't, but still joins in on all the goofy group antics and bluster, and tends to just do what either Snake or Wolf tell her (though responds with flying colours). This is shown by how she's just as clueless to being 'good' as everyone else besides Wolf, though is the first and quickest to get it when he nudges them all along. She doesn't do any amazing gambits or stunts solo like Wolf, Snake or Diane, but as seen with the heists, her getting the rest of the group to join the dots with the push pop, or her elaborate work with Diane during the chase, she's perhaps the most awesome and concise teammate ever.
I feel like Wolf is underrated for being a leader who knows not to be a micro manager, he knows his gang aren't stupid and if he gives a simple nudge they can do amazing things on their own, as shown brilliantly with the push pop gambit. Compared to Diane who thinks she's a retired burglar god dealing with simpletons originally, or Marmalade who just sees pawns to exploit everywhere (which backfires HORRIBLY with Snake), Wolf shows surprising lucidity in what others are capable of. His biggest downfalls were falling for Marmalade's plan (which everyone done) and not telling the group about turning good, which was more out of conflict in the moment, not wanting to let them OR Diane down. He also falls for that trap with the Golden Dolphin, which I admit was kinda dumb (feel like they should have had Marmalade put up a genuinely good trap there).
In my opinion, I think Diane is the smartest character because she was able to hide third, so Peniel diamond in plain sight. No one seem to catch that and she’s the only character who didn’t get tricked by anyone and yeah, she did fall in a trap that was wolfs fault then anything so that’s why I think Diane is the most smartest character in the movie
She did get tricked by Marmalade and Snake (granted EVERYONE did but still), and she almost lost the Golden Dolphin TWICE, first time out of hubris. I do feel like Diane is a smart character, but they play her off from the start as not as undefeatable as she thinks she is. She's likely used to going up against dumb cops than equally intelligent criminals.

To be honest, diane foxington from the bad guys is like spamton from deltarune chapter 2 because they both wear glasses and they both make deals and i think i remember the fox girl say now's your chance to redeem yourselves like how spamton says now's your chance to be a big shot. When wolf talked to the fox girl on the stairs it reminded me of the original spamton fight in deltarune and when the fox girl was reavealed to be the crimson paw, it reminded me of spamton neo. Instead of rescuing wolf and the gang, i was expecting the fox girl to fight them instead and have wolf's soul turn yellow and be able to shoot things and wolf and the gang will be in minecarts and the fox girl wants to take wolf's body as a vessal and says he doesn't need his freinds. Wolf and the gang can either beat the fox girl up or break her strings and then they get an item and a shadow crystal and also marmalade is also kinda like queen since they're both selfish. Could someone please do a YTPMV of now's your chance to be a big shot where the fox girl sings now's your chance to be a big shot and also with sounds from the movie as the melody of the music. I feel like Chief Luggins deserves some smartness points for being the first person to figure out the meteorite was actually a lamp at the end of the movie.
Also recognised the Zumpango Diamond instantly, something even Wolf couldn't do.
She's also that one character that if they had just listened to none of the plot would have happened. She knew Wolf was tricking everyone.

I'm not saying the placement is wrong, but Mr. Wolf actually specifically engineered the gang's reaction when they got back to the empty hideout. It's tempting to say he DID give Mr. Snake his word that the plan didn't change and that he decided they should go good before that scene, but his reactions suggest he was ambivalent so he probably wasn't thinking that far ahead. That last push pop was totally his doing though.

Really the fact the ENTIRE CLIMAX of awesome moments and character development happened solely because Wolf pulled that little gambit with Diane and the other Bad Guys is astounding. Marmalade just barely manipulated everyone to bungle into the spot he wanted them to for his plan over a few days (and even then Diane is the biggest reason Wolf even turned to good), Wolf made this whole group work in perfect synergy on their own accord just by showing what a little goodness can do for them. I mean, the other Bad Guys turned good in what? FIVE MINUTES?
Sure he didn't expect stuff like the Crimson Paw or 'the ol' switcharoo', but I guess that's the thing, Wolf's not an arrogant genius, he's smart enough not to micro manage his team or treat them like idiot pawns, he knows one nudge and they can figure it out on their own, and he has everyone working together loyally for him at 100% in response, even an agent far more legendary than him. That's an amazingly powerful leader.
