Exactly what I needed. As someone who benefits from a wider toe box and mild medial support, I qualified for Boston in Elite 1 and loved that shoe every mile of it. So the question was if I buy Elite 2 for Boston. I guess I’ll just buy another color of Elite 1.
Love the comparison! Thanks Matty! Loved the EE1. The feel of running in that shoe is second to none. Can't wait to try the EE2. Love DOR & Saucony to the grave.
Ran Boston and NYC marathon in V1. Even though my feet were killing me towards the end of the race, I feel the firmer foam helps me roll better. I am 100% going to pick up V2 for Berlin next year. Will be interesting to see how it works for me.
You nailed this I own a pair of the 1s and 2s matter fact I went back and bought a second pair of the 1s version do is good takes. A min to figure out the foam does perform well just very unstable
I was expecting a Twister to suddenly appear the way that rain storm was coming in! Thanks for the review. I've been loving v1 and will give v2 a try down the road.
I absolutely love my elite v1 and i have now 200 miles and they still running strong and hasn't ripped aprt yet and ill be getting a 2nd pair of them because they wrre so amazing yes v1 start off very firm but they do soften out. Now the v2 im willing to give it a try but i can already tell it wont take my love from v1
The new version looks much more comfortable. I would be going from the Endorphin Pro 2 as my half marathon race shoe, so I assume it would feel very different.
Great review, as always! Interesting they’ve done a 180 in this release. It seems V2 is more aligned with Saucony’s core DNA in Speed and Pro. Wondering if they’ll phase out v1 or have it resurrected in another model. There a use case for both versions, depending on the distance/need/etc.
What’s the rocker like? In v1, it felt like there was a bulge under the ball of the foot that I had to get up and over. The MS+ had similar feels (not the original or Paris). I find such rocker styles interfere with my natural foot mechanics. Please talk about the rocker in every shoe review.
Curious to see what David thinks because he loved the 1 so much. I dont think this ones for me. I liked V1 because of the aggressive forefoot. The Deviate Elite 3 is probably about as soft as I want to go for a racing shoe so this doesnt sound like something in my preference range. Happy for whoever likes it though
@andrewescobedo3449 V1 is much firmer, forefoot rocker is about the same, not nearly as much bounce in the V1 as the DE3 and it's slightly heavier. V1 is more stable though by a long shot
Is version 2 similar to the Hoka Cielo X1? I feel like I would also describe the Cielo X1 as soft and bouncy and better for longer races vs short races.
I was really excited about the Elite 2 but now I don't know since I occasionally need some amount of guidance. What are the most comparable shoes to it in terms of stability?
Will you be doing a full review of the endorphin elite 2 or a 100mile update? I'm very curious about the exposed foam in the heel area in the bottom. They say the foam is easily worn through. Especially for heel strikers
Hated V1 soooo much. Guess I was too slow of a runner for it. To firm, rocker just interfered with my stride rather than moving me forward. V2 seems more like what I would like. A shoe I can control vs shoe that is trying to control me.
The v1 is my all-time favorite shoe. It's like a Vaporfly Next v1 but with a more aggressive rocker and a more cushioned feel. As you describe the Elite v2 it seems like that magic is going to be lost and it's going to be some sort of Adios Pro 3 with a more ZoomX-like foam. I'm actually dying to try the v2 but from what you've described it seems like it's going to be a slower shoe😢

Matt is such a beast, he didn't even flicker a bit even when the rain is getting heavier👍
You get that ability once you get your PHD

I'm a massive fan of this "between 2 houses" location especially in the thumbnail... oh yeah and the shoes too :)
This is such a radical and interesting change! I love the v1 and like firmer shoes in general. Yet somehow I’m very curious about the 2 😂
V1 = firm, snappy, & more stable. That pretty much answers my questions! Excellent comparison review 👏

The dedication to do this in the rain...😂
Hey Google, play The Rain by Missy Elliott

rich sir can you please send me a pair? 😂
Thanks! ELite 1 is pure magic for us stability/overpronators. Good to know v2 is not it and I'm happy i bought an extra pair of 1.

PS: Release date said to be March 2025.

Looks like I’ll need to double up on EE1.
I wonder what happened to Powerrun HG. Are they still using it in the 2025 models?
The Pro 4 isn't updating in 2025 so it'll still be in there. Who knows after that though
Apparently its a new foam that is impressive

I loved the elite one but the heal knob in the 1 just didn't work well for me on long runs
I have just seen objective measurement of the compliance of v1 vs v2 vs AF3 on reddit today. Spoiler, v2 is soft above and beyond
Bouncier than the Prime X Strung 2?

How does the Deviate Elite 3 compare to V1? I'm currently using the Deviate 3 but have always been interested in the V1.

@@michaelcaricoo- Agree with most of that, but the Rocker in V1 is far more aggressive than the DNE3

NB Rebel V2 midsole on steroids
He did a video recently, along the lines of”top super shoes for stability needs.”
Hi Matt do you think its more stable for a Mid to Forefoot Striker?

For sure. We’ll have a team written review and since it’ll be a March release it’ll be a bit for the 100 mile but it’ll happen.
@DoctorsofRunning let's go! 🔥🔥🔥

Wondering what the bounce is like compared to the Mizuno Wave Rebellion Pro Beta / 3. (Did they ever say if there's a difference?)

How much would it cost to get a small roof added in between the buildings there?
🤪
Matt honey, put Liz to bed.
Honey, I got elite 2, gotta run
A few moments later
Honey, pls open the door. 😂
Grammar police: 3:28 “as quick” should be “as quickly.” 4:52 “more thicker” should be “more thick” or “thicker.” Yes, I’m a snob.🤣
