when you start from the bottom there's nowhere to go but up. I remember when I finally started to make something of myself, and would literally be so relieved that I didn't have to constantly check my bank account to make sure I wasn't in the negative. When I could put gas in my car or get lunch without looking in between the cushions for spare change. Really makes you value the basics and you quickly realize material things don't mean shit.
