It looks and sounds just like the Lionel Legacy Demo Heisler Number #3!!! LOL!!!! But still looks and sounds awesome with that Meadow River Balloon Stack and SP Star Brass 5-Chime. Very beautiful engine!!! :)
What a mighty whistle! Great shots, looks like it was a cold day of railfanning. Also gotta thank you again for recommending those railfanning spots at New Hope, I met up with Joe and Ethan and they went to similar locations. It was definitely worth it, I’m very happy with my shots. Great job again!
Thanks! The weather was actually quite mild. In the mornings it was quite chilly but most of the days it was in the 60s which was fine by me! And you’re very welcome! If you ever need help with locations, feel free to give me a shout!
Awesome, maybe when the line between Cass and Durbin is finished, then they can run their locomotives and pull excursions from the Cass Scenic Railroad to the Durbin & Greenbrier Valley Railroad in the future.
If you’re referring to the one that was on display at the depot for a few years, I have no clue what the plans are for that. The new two-truck Heisler on the other hand, will be an interesting addition to the fleet once it’s restored.
wait hold up. This caught my attention in the description. Cass and Durbin will once again be connected by rail. How? I've seen the Greenbrier Valley Railroad on google earth and its only 5 miles long how will it connect to cass scenic if its at least who knows how many miles apart in West Virginia.
Cass and Durbin were connected by rail via the C&O until a flood in 1985 wiped out the track. The 5 miles you are referring to was restored in 1997 by John & Kathy Smith when the D&GV first started up. Over the past few years, they have been restoring the line to reconnect Cass & Durbin. The trackage extends way beyond the 5 miles. It just doesn’t show because Google Earth has not been updated since the work began.
@@TheBigBananaRailfan oh I didn't know that. Thx for the info. Maybe if Cass would allow it Heisler 6 can travel back to Cass by rail than truck since that's probably how she got to Greenbrier Valley Railroad in 2015 when their climax went under a rebuild that I hope is going well.
When they do get the track reconnected, hopefully they will keep the Heisler and the Climax on that line and only occasionally run a Shay on it. Back before the flood, WM #6 was used for the run. Even though it has larger wheels than the other Shays at Cass, it really is out of place running on that line. The real power should be 604.
The plan is to have all steam operations run out of Cass, with Durbin being a destination more so than a place to get on the train. The 2-8-0 will be the primary motive power there along with Western Maryland #6.
Great video, a Heisler in action is something completely new to me. The sound of the machine and the steam whistle, simply brilliant.
Glad you enjoyed it
That whistle is top notch! Just like these fantastic shots!
Thanks Vince! And yes that whistle is spectacular, one of my favorites!
Excellent job Evan! That SP desert 5 chime sounds amazing on 6! That wheelslip was epic at 6:49! Wish I could have gone!
Thanks Ashton! We gotta get ya down there for one of these!

Great set of videos Evan! Makes me wish I could've gotten there sooner on Friday. Hope to run into you again sometime.
Thanks Sean! Glad you liked them! You’ll see me out there, trust me!
Awesome video!
Thanks!

Brian Falzon I think the line would be completed in 2021.
@@nathancorcoran5347 yes, that’s what I head!
@@brianfalzon6739 I wonder when in 2021 they will run the first train on the line.
@@nathancorcoran5347 that'll be awesome
@@brianfalzon6739 do you know when in 2021 that would happen?
When they go fix shay 3? I can't wait for couple years for rebuild that new Heisler enjoy cass.

Awesome video! Love the stack! Just curious, what type of camera did you record this wth?
Thanks! This was recorded with a Sony CX-405 which I had been using up until the end of last year. I have since upgraded.
