At 4:24 or so you can see the roof of the ASB building and Auckland Centra Hotel gabled roof. I worked on that roof joining the butanol on the ply panels for a short time in the early 90's. The crane on top of the ASB building was about the tallest thing in town and towered above the roof of the Centa Hotel which was 20 something levels including the basement. Working on the 45° pitch is still to this day the most terrifying thing I ever did for money.
The angle from the rear of the crane looking down far below to ASB roof is vertigo inducing to the extreme.
    Wow!
Thanks for posting this. Interesting that it randomly came up on my feed.... The algorithm works in mysterious ways😂

Wow how rad was that, I was installing a roof on a 15 story building (Quest on Eden) at the same time back then and was so cool looking across and seeing the Sky Tower being built, thou the tower didn't have the restaurant part up at that stage. Cheers

Hi Michael - are you still in touch with your friend you loaned the camera to? I was working on a site down below in one of the shots. What a great time in Auckland Construction. Be great if the guys from this project could come back together for a yarn....let me know if you’re able to put me in touch mate. Cheers.

Good morning, the guy who did the videoing for me went by the name of Buff Malaitai, a Samoan guy. Lost contact with him, haven't seen him for over 18 years. He used to live in Te Atatu Peninsula in Auckland, that's all I can help you with I'm afraid.
