I went to this concert at the Hammersmith Apollo, with my late husband, it is a treasured memory, always remember Martin being pissed, because he forgot his weed. Played John Holt at his funeral in July 24 - RIP Martin & John only the good die young.
I remember going to see John Holt at Hammersmith Apollo . I was late getting there because it was raining cats and dogs so I only see the end of the Freddie McGregor performance I was a bit gutted. But forgotten shortly when I see John Holt my ultimate Idol in all of music since 1990 . As a white man I have promoted John Holt's music since 1990 with family and friends did not really listen to reggae music until they listen to Johns singing . And you know how it goes the rest is history . Hardcore reggae fans for life. Yes I know I'm waffling 🥱🥱👍🇬🇧🇯🇲

wow wow wow what an amazing show, the awesome Freddie McGregor and the total legend that was the great John Holt, how on earth can 72 people not like this they obviously don't appreciate good music, REGGAE RULES, R.I.P. JOHN HOLT
John Holt and Freddie McGregor's music brings me way back to my High School days in Jamaica. These musicians along with Bob Marley, the Clarendonians, Toots and the Maytals were just starting out. Ska was on its way out and Rock Steady was the new craze. This was a time in my life I will never forget. I had so much fun it is unbelievable. Watching this video just rekindled that childhood spirit in me. It has been almost 60 years, but it still feels like yesterday. Oh, what a feeling, I love it.
I recently saw Freddy a few weeks ago, his first show after his stroke and I pretty much cried for the whole performance. It wasn’t the first time I’ve seen him live but the performance felt so special I was glad to have experienced it
He is very lucky to still be alive after his stokes. Just give thanks. A lot of musicians do not survive due to the hard-core life style they have lived. My uncle a famous Nigerian 🇳🇬 musician only survived a couple of years after his stroke 😢😢

I took my mum to John Holt's very 1st concert in England in the 1980s @ the commonwealth institute. The look on her face when we arrived (it was a surprise) will live with me forever as she loved this man. She boasted to all her friends about it. It's one of my favourite memories of the times we spent together. RIP to them both.
I am so glad to know that i was there to part of history with Freddy & mr john Holt, 2 of jamaica great singners, keep on making sweet music where ever you are mrJohn Holt
Wow! Mr, B, I'm not an envious person to keep my txt in context, It must have been such a blessing, 2 of a kind we are unlikely to see again on the same stage, those songs, Man! Salute brother! 🙏🏾😎🔥

I was there and was absolutely starstruck to see this LEGEND John Holt, has and always will be my favourite artist, listen to him at least once a day, every song he sang will stay in my heart forever, listening to his music has got me through so many difficult times in my life, thank you John and RIP LEGEND.
I remember going to see John and Freddie at the Hammersmith Apollo back in 98 or 99 . I was late getting there because the weather was double bed . Just finished work on Sunday turned up all wet and dirty I was one of a few white men there . I felt so embarrassed because everyone else look like superstars . But anyway when I see my ultimate artist since 1990 at the age of 13 . To me he put out the greatest volume of great tracks . Apart from the John sings hip hop House RNB awful album. Well we are all entitled to 1 bad album and that was John 1 . But it is still how king of music . My apology for waffling 🥱🥱 👍🇬🇧
You went away too soon, daddy John Holt .I grew up listening to your sweet ,sweet songs . Did you leave because of illness or did the creator think its time to come home ? Whatever was the plan .I missed your wonderfull voice singing away .Rip SIR JOHN HOLT 🙏 .
This is a beautiful medly sample of reggae music., coming from the legendary Freddy McGregor. Isn't it amazing how each generation of young people are always leading the way to the future with their rebellion and choices. It reminds me how we mature people couldn't be held back from the things we loved; going to clubs, shubin, blues and all that went with it... Reggae's musical message is probable more wise spread than when I was young. Now, while it seems like other modern genre are very popular yet reggae continue to work it's influence in the background and influencing the world's peoples. Blessings to all. 😊🖤❤💛💚😊 🎶👫🏾👥🤝🏼🎶
Sir John Holt, the ultimate performer, pretty suave and cool; I remember my school days, in the '70s, my friends would describe him as 'Big people's music.' Personally, I think he was a great vocalist, makes me feel nostalgic, I wanted to cry as he sang, 'Mr Bojangles', brilliant!

Discovered this concert just today thanks to a throwaway comment from my Dad...we're now watching it together. Thank you for the music John and Freddie xx
I’ve been listening to John holt for decades. Some years ago in the early 1990s he did a free summer concert in NYC Central Park . I remember I had to work that day but by hook or crook I was going to be there cause I had never seen him in person before and I did not know what he look like. He was wearing these black leather pant looking so sexy. When he stared to sing STICK BY ME I screamed and grabbed the hand of the old woman next to me who was equally as excited as I was, only to realize that it was my mother. She had taken the train to Central Park by herself just to see the legend. True story
This is music❤️ not the music of today even the dance too much profanity. So of these artists need to take lesson from these legendary originals Jamaican singers. Freddie One of my favourite artists of all time, my favourite song is Big Ship, as for myself I will listen to these legendary artists all day long. I would pay any amount of money to see a show like this.❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
You got that right, I was lucky enough to see him at The Quest, night club in Minneapolis, Minnesota in the early 2000's, and got to shake is hand, great show and is a true legend.
Real talk these artists today apart from a few are waste of time money and talent. Not dissing them but not taking back my talk I would never go to their shows. Waste of good money and time. More blessings more strength more love to Freddy
The original lover's rock Godfather, John Holt l grew up listening to his beautiful tunes, when l was in love with a beautiful lady in my college years this is the music l listened to, still got all of this gentleman's cds and play them every week. Music like this will never die. Rip Mr John Holt.
Fantastic show, great music and one of the best reggae singers ever John Holt. Reggae music is so powerful and with this amazing orchestra behind these infectious songs is all together inspiring. Clement Ishmel is the conductor and I've had the pleasure of working under his supervision on a few London West End theatre shows, SoulTrain and Disney The Lion King were I was asked to understudy the role of King Mufasa. Well done to Jet Star Music for putting this out, respect to Mr Palmer.
Saw John Holt at the Empire room, just north of Miami in 2007, doors opened up at 10 Holt walked in at 2AM and performed 🎉until dawn.
