Easily one of the greatest musical acts of our time. Every single band member brings amazing elements to the songs. Thom's vocals just add an element that doesn't feel simulated like so many singers, even the best ones whom I admire. Ridiculously unique.
I love that they don't mind screwing around / experimenting with songs for long periods of time and actually share various results. So we have three versions of Morning Bell now? Two on consecutive album releases and then this dark version. There must be many good references for this (stripping Videotape from the anthemic arrangement to make it a syncopated, minimalist masterpiece, and working on Nude for ten years before releasing it are two that come to mind immediately). Regarding soundtracks, I recently saw a good video on when/why Radiohead songs get featured in shows and films ("The Radiohead Effect" by Fandor) and you must already know the Penderecki arc of Jonny's musical development leading to absolutely amazing scores for films like There Will be Blood. I was also delighted to unexpectedly hear "Morning Mr. Magpie" at the beginning of Mr Mercedes S01E07 "Willow Lake." Music is used effectively in this season, and this one made me so happy to hear!

@@fyootb9482 No. A year, on and off, of listening and making adjustments. The goal is to make a playlist that flows well. The amount of material before Kid Amnesia was released is incredibly dense and plentiful; 31 songs to siffed through. It's actually a tougher challenge than one might think.
I don’t fully understand it, but it feels like unknown, forbidden kinda, beauty. It feels like.. something I can’t describe Edit: after watching more, they have different vibes, I might try to timestamp and describe some

Some of the sounds in the b side untitled, when you said it sounds like an angry robot… some of those sounds remind me of parts of NIN’s Things Falling Apart
I like this album. Love Radiohead.
Follow me around feels like having Thom behind you, leaning into your left ear, really close, as if he's... following you around
PLEASE do a video on "How to disappear completely."
you're such an engaging person
I love Fog, If you say the word, Follow me around and How to disappear into strings
You should listen to Thom Yorke's soundtrack for the film Suspiria (2018)
I should, I shall! Thank you.
ive just started referring to the new version as “true love waits freestyle”
Wholeheartedly agree with the minor chords. Something about it draws one in. Probably we are drawn to Radiohead.
Watch the official video to “If you say the word.” It’s a masterpiece x
Incredible idea for a music video
I will watch soon!
Isn't it "harpies in the branches"?
I've watched all the reaction videos to Kid Amnesia and almost all of the reactors stop after "How to Disappear..." and take a moment or two to collect themselves. Nearly all of them.
spinning plates is fun to listen to backwards… the backwards bits the normal way round are so simple
If you want a version of "Fog" that goes on longer, definitely check out the vanilla version.
They wrote a film score for the opening of Spectre (James Bond series) but it was replaced.
I curated a playlist, on Spotify, that contains everything from this era. I don't know if I can post a Spotify link here, but you can look it up if you want. It's called "Radiohead - Kid A/mnesiac". It has 41 songs, and I took a lot of time putting it together; more than a year, in anticipation of a 20th anniversary of Kid A and Amnesiac. It's also available on RUclips.
Also, thank you, ixi!

An entire year to add two albums and some b-sides to a playlist? LMAO
@@fyootb9482 No. A year, on and off, of listening and making adjustments. The goal is to make a playlist that flows well. The amount of material before Kid Amnesia was released is incredibly dense and plentiful; 31 songs to siffed through. It's actually a tougher challenge than one might think.
@@fyootb9482 41 after Friday, btw.
You should check it out, and share some thoughts, if you're into this era of Radiohead 😀
13:05 That was me on the bus when I first heard the song.
I don’t fully understand it, but it feels like unknown, forbidden kinda, beauty. It feels like.. something I can’t describe
Edit: after watching more, they have different vibes, I might try to timestamp and describe some
Alt/Fast track sounds like Transatlantic Drawl
I see what you did there with the EarthQuaker Devices Spatial Delivery bedsheet
Speaking of Radiohead, you should do one bit on The Daily Mail...
"They're not reasonable, they're Radiohead!" 😅
Makes me think of how Pete Townsend was ahead of his time.
Now I want to see you play Idioteque chords
Follow Me Around was written during the OK Computer tour. It was played sparsely on and off until about 2003 I think? Anyways, on the Meeting People is Easy documentary, you see the band jamming to this song, with drums, bass and all that jazz. It's such a great version, that IMO, should have been released close to that. But hey, I'm not Radiohead.
