In case anyone is interested in how Tycho structures the arrangements of this song, he replied to me directly : "I think in a lot of cases the lack of structure is the defining characteristic. I'm typically trying to evoke the feeling of a journey or a narrative arc. So you have what amounts to a series of scenes and with each scene I'm trying to tell the story and find my way to a resolution. Like you said there's a lot of variance but a really basic model would be: Intro, first core idea is expressed, breakdown or bridge, core idea is elaborated or expressed in a different way, long interlude / atmospheric passage, build, crescendo where all elements are brought back combined, minimal outro"

Tycho was my first introduction to a whole new genre of music - Synthwave/Chillwave. Today that music seems to easy to find. Back when all I used was Pandora, being introduced to Tycho was such a game changer. Now my music world is so much fuller. This is a terrific mix thank you for the upload!

Is that what it's called?! I've been trying to figure out what to tell people when they ask what kinda music I like. I settled with down tempo techno, thinking dance, and background music in movies. Chilliwave sounds way better
@@seanchan4478 Yup, chillwave for life dude 😎. Synthwave is more fast paced and retrowave is straight up 80s with lyrics. Look around and you'll find a whole new world awaiting your eager ears. Check out Blume, Dreamy, fluidified, State Azure for some chillwave starting points, check my other comment for some other ones.

I was a Graphic Design major when a professor asked us to take one particular designer from a list and make a case study of their work. Tycho wasn't a big DJ/muscian back then and he was still working in the graphic industry. I was introduced to his aesthetic and fell in love with it and after he released the Awake album I was forever hooked in his vibe. Thank you Mr. Tycho.
When I first heard tycho I was on a vacation near the beach. It was a moment that I’ll always relive. So much peace and love for life in the progression. This mix will always put me in such a great mood. I can appreciate the journey & be present.

lol whack, the 'best of Tycho' is apparently just the entirety of Dive and Awake, as well as most of the Science of Patterns/Sunrise Projector/Past is Prologue era, all mixed up in a random order and nothing from Epoch onwards. not dissing Tycho at all this is just a very odd mix.
It's really quite an achievement to write 2.5 hours of music that doesn't have a melody ....
Soo many ads....Destroys the flow of listening to Tycho. An AD after every song and sometimes right in the middle of the song. Thumbs down.
