Nice to see the Iceline Trail. For my 70th Birthday last year I hiked Yoho - Whaleback - Iceline over 3 days, day 2 going over the Whaleback was my 70th BD. I also did the trail in June last year but had to routefind over 6+ feet of snow. And, in the past I've done the hike from Emerald Lake to Yoho Lake, through the Burgess Shale. Just a wonderful area to hike in.
Keep going. You are looking great.
Love that you say “we” so that we feel like we’re right there with you. Loving your adventure!
Hiking to a wedding, is that a hint of what’s to come for you? That’s a great way to bond y’all’s love, a marriage on the trail! Sweet!
You say today’s leg kicked your butt. But you finished it, and without injury. Not even a blister. I think you kicked it’s butt. Good job!
Ha ha...Yeah that game trail is straight up for sure!! Gotta talk to those bears about putting in some switchbacks :) Back in 2019 we hadn't found that game trail yet so the route was still basically straight up but through super thick bush instead of that kinda-trail.
Nice job cranking out the entire alt in a day. Staying at Little Yoho camp or Stanley Mitchell Hut would be a nice way to break it up for mere mortal hikers.
It's the end of day elevation that always kicks my butt. Was nice to mindlessly follow the flagging tape down to the old road though on the other side!
At 16 just getting into backpacking slowly building up my gear setup, you’re one of the embodiments of why I fell in love with Backpacking.🙂
Come hike section A with me this summer, I was the exact same as you last year
Amazing day:
1. Crazy elevation gain/loss
2. Route finding
3. Constant bear sign
4. Amazing views
You're a beast!!
Get after it!!
That scenery alone is a huge morale booster! Thanks for bringing us along!
2:11 ...lol... *YOYO Park* ...(Your On Your Own trail )
7:47 ...welcome to the *MISERY TRAIL*
(A part of the Trail that is filled with mud, fallen trees and debris, and rocky terrain, where no trail exists)
HI Justin. Been following your awesome journey. This is my first comment. Unbelievably outstanding scenery. You've got this! I detect there is no stopping you now. One step, one day at a time. Greetings from Oregon.
new drinking game. Every time Justin says oof you take a sip of beer XD.
but in all seriousness you truly are inspiring, keep it going.
Excellent. Love your cadence on trail and with video verbal. Matter of fact, calm, determined, and approachable.
Injinji liner toe socks are the real deal for blister prevention.
I am absolutely loving following your adventure! I really look forward each day to your daily vlog. I’m watching from the UK so it is SO great you bring these places to my living room. You are such an inspirational guy! It’s great you show the ups and downs of the mental side of doing something like this. Total respect man, how you do those daily distances is beyond me. Keep going, great stuff 👍
Cool you're going up by Stanley-Mitchell ACC. I've backpacked in there starting below Twin Falls and up by the Whaleback.. Neat stuff!.
Im not going to lie your infectious positivity when I first started watching you bothered me as I thought you were one of those that do it for the views. Boy did you prove some random guy on the internet wrong and after watching you for three years now I still cant get enough of your videos. Keep up the great work and keep on being you (not that you have a choice)
You are way faster than me in the morning. It takes 60 minutes from I wake up until I get ready to hike, 90 minutes if I eat porridge breakfast too.
I’ve watched your first 21 days these past couple of days. Absolutely AWESOME! Appreciate you taking us along on your
journey! Can’t wait to finish the videos
**Also glad to see someone out there that also loves hiking while having a fear of heights.
Those were some beautiful waterfalls and lakes. Good work today!
Why hasn't Dan been out there blazing trails on that section yet? I think he should get on that. As soon as he's made some more X-Mid Stargazer kits and I've got mine of course 😉
In all seriousness...that's gotta be stressful just making up your own way over and around a mountain! But I s'pose that's what the early adventurers did!
I wonder when you call out "hey bear!" If there's a bear there to hear you, does it know you're talking to him/her? Do they even *know* they're "bear"? Trail existentialism...you're making my brain work Justin!
W-O-W! Justin, this was some GORGEOUS country! That waterfall! 😍😍😍
I'm behind because of my own time off-grid
I can't imagine how mentally difficult it must be
I had to do 12+ miles over 2 12,500 ft passes in Aspen (Maroon Bells) and its EXHAUSTING and worth it! And you're doing more than that, every day...for 30+ days! damn!
I can’t believe how many valleys and passes you go through in just one day! It puts into perspective just how far you’re hiking in one day.
The waterfall is stunning!!
With all the challenges you had this day, you didn’t mention your food carry. Wasn’t this your largest food carry day that you’ve had on the trail so far? ...keep up the awesome work! You’re kicking butt and we are enjoying this journey you’re on!
It was actually pretty small due to a resupply at Saskatchewan Crossing!
You are absolutely CRUSHING IT Justin - Let’s GO!!!
I have to watch this every day now! It was a minor catastrophe on Saturday when I missed it because I went wild camping... Thank you so much for sharing your adventure. I think I would have gone bonkers from the lack of contact with other human beings.
came for the singing....stayed for the waterfall
Been watching all your GDT vids. Your awesome. Been doing the Washington State sections every summer with friends. Doing a 150 mile section next summer solo. Watching your videos gives me the confidence I can do this solo. Awesome videos man. Keeping it going.
Views just get better and better- Its beautiful man !! - I love boulder hopping - keep it Up!
Absolutely gorgeous scenery today. Thank you so much for taking the time to bring us along and make us feel like we're right there with you. Hope you got a new can of bear spray on your zero day! Some advice - keep it on your hip belt so it's more accessible. The best place is on a belt but not sure if you wear one. You really don't want to be fumbling to get your bear spray out of your water bottle pocket in a tight pinch!
Cheering you on from Philly! You are crushing it! 🥳🎉🎉
Steph's a dear. You in the bathtub scene, not so much... :>) Great series, Justin.
Love the route finding you’re doing. Makes a person feel as though they’re really out there. I did a bit of off trail hiking last year when doing the Skyline trail. I loved it!! Keep up the progress!!
Love the injiji toe socks! I swear by them as well. Love the vids so far - keep up the great work!
What a day you had! No rain and no smoke. Great footage from a fantastic landscape.
Lol, "those are some rocky mountains", hence the name I guess. Great job today.
Steph has been making fun of me almost daily about that comment. haha
@@JustinOutdoors lol, and rightly so. It was a perfect comment.
Wow, that's some elevation gain you did today Justin! Great work Mate!
And again, some magical views along this part. That waterfall looked amazing and the colour of some of the lakes was so beautiful. I don't know how you keep going, like I've said before, I'd be stopping every minute to admire the views! 😂 You're still smashing it Justin! Stay safe.
Awesome job Justin. Views are spectacular
so fun! watching this trip from start to finish
great adventure Justin , please stay safe ~ Calgary, AB.Canada
You’re killing it bro 👍👍👍
Been a long time subscriber and been watching your journey from day 1, you have inspired me in many ways and because of your videos I found the courage ( for the lack of a better word) and did my first ever solo trip! So thank you for being an inspiration 😊👍
Love watching these videos with the family. Great to have you showcase your take on the beautiful area of the country we live in!
Amazing! Beautiful! Thanks for doing this!!
I’m interested to see some more in camp video. Also interested in your editing process while you are on the trail.
This is one of the most scenic hiking video series that I’ve seen. Unbelievable
Beautiful views thanks for documenting your trip so well! Good luck and enjoy!
I’m in the west of Ireland, we have some mts but not like these! Gotta go visit next year post covid times :)
Spectacular scenery, and a magical place to be
Really is a heavenly experience and you get to enjoy all this beauty
Keep on Treking.....you rock big time
Sheila
Your killing it Justin!! I think I would have to do the alternative routes too.
LOVE your vids, especially how authentic you are, real, honest content!
Love the videos and your authenticity, Justin! Keep on keepin it real and crushing those kms. Enjoy!
Love to follow you on this hike. It all looks so amazing!
Go Justin! Greetings from Slovenia.
I wonder if you would help educate on “route finding”? If there isn’t a trail how do you know what to look for? Really enjoying following this journey! Thanks for taking us along.
A lot of it is knowing you got to get to a point in the distance and then finding the best way to get there! Using game trails, clearings, and custom switch backs.
Wow, yeah just walk and sleep. Inspiring.
Love your video. Buen trabajo!!
Lovely views thanks for sharing them, I agree with others it feels like I am with you on your trip :)
Monster day, so good.
Toughest day yet? Starting to sound like Apple’s “best iPhone ever” with every new segment lol. Except yours is true! Crazy days you’ve planned and amazing that you’re keeping to plan. I could do it, maybe, if I cut every one of your days in half. Keep it up, crazy amazing views!
Awesome journey love all your hard work.
Keep on Hiking
Wendy(my wife)
This was the nicest video so far with the views.
don't think I've said, "you da man' today :^)
Great vlog! Have to watch everyday! My hiking fever is back now 😄 Just came from three country hike which makes a triangle between Finland, Sweden and Norway. 80 kilometres of pure enjoyment.
Do bears poop on the trail to announce their presence? :)
I think they just poop anytime they need to. Weasels will poop to mark though!
Looks like you got your views
when do we go to Everest?
Any fear about ticks or is that not an issue up there?
It can be, but I just check myself daily :)
What have you been using canera wise to shoot this trip?
My Samsung S10E phone!
What is your daily calorie intake for this hike?
3500-4500 a day... not enough. haha

Man up and stop crying. Keep up the good work
