BEACH ACCESS Shoreline public access is an important common law right that is shared by local residents and visitors alike. The right of access to Hawaii’s shorelines includes the right of transit along the shoreline and within beach transit corridors. Beach transit corridors are defined as the areas extending seaward of the shoreline and these areas are considered public property (HRS §115-5, HRS §205A-1). It’s unlikely that Zuck has bodyguards that kick people off of “His” beach, because he doesn’t own it, and it would be unlawful. Locals would absolutely not stand for that, they know the law and are very protective of beach access. I’m willing to bet locals would even go so far as to gang up and beat up the bodyguards if they did so.

That surfboard that broke in half is easily 50 years old so no great loss. Foodland in Hawaii is like Safeway on the mainland. Kind of the big major supermarket chain. I worked for them a bit as a young adult. As always, if you insist on eating like a mainlander, food's gonna be expensive and if you eat like a local it will cost a lot less. The catch here is I don't know how to learn to eat like a local unless you grow up in Hawaii among local people.
That was really fun! You need hiking boots for some of those paths to the beach. What a beautiful island. Love all the chickens strutting around, the frogs, the peacock, all the animals! 😁

Kauai is not the smallest island. Of the eight major Hawaiian Islands Kahoolawe is the smallest. Kauai is the oldest of the islands and is number four in land mass.
Aloha. Being a resident of Kauai, I gotta say that you have north and south mixed up. Zuck lives on the north shore. The more inaccessible the beach, the better. However, those beaches are usually very dangerous and tend to have rip currents. Tourists, we’ve come to find out, don’t know or just don’t care and swim anyway. A lot of times, they won’t live to tell anybody how awesome that beach is...
Rain does not equal freak storm. Kauai is one of the wettest places on earth, BUT, there’s almost always sunshine after the rain. There are 5 islands, not 4. Molokai is the smallest island you can visit. My son was a priest there for 2 years. We got to know about lot of great locals when we would visit him. Hawai’i has a law that all beaches are public.
Not as easy to keep the grass neat and keep the weeds out in a climate so conducive to growth. But you can easily arrange stuff on the lawn, make it look more orderly

You need to meet real locals that have roots hear from yrs ago. The islands history and stories can only be told by the people from Kauai. So much great families here live and work together with lots of aloha. Glad you enjoyed Kauai and its beaches. Mahalo!
Thank you Nick. Super happy you spent so much time in Hawaii. The rain is a blessing. You make great videos and these are fantastic ! Oh yah, Zuckerberg, Oprah, Larry Ellison, Jeff Bezos etc. are bringing their entitled attitudes and corruption to this beautiful place, despite that, still the best. Hawaii Nei No Ka Oi. Mahalo!
I remember GO airlines from Kona to Oahu. Had a 2 for 1 drink special and had to get your orders in and settled before takeoff. Had about 5 minutes to drink them before starting the descent lol. Good times.
I was on Kauai once, in 2008. The Garden Island. The most beautiful place ive ever seen. That's where i want to go when I go back to Hawaii .
Around 33:12 you say sugar production was shut down in the 1850s. I think you meant 1950s.
Still not correct, they closed in the 1990's.
@@kerrymatthew I think different mills closed at different times. But you're right about Koloa; I was thinking they turned to tourism in the 60s when we frequently went there, but it was later as you said.
Yah, lived there for 8 years, loved it.
I say: Surfing usa ❤
Where was that video of the squirrel from while you told everyone we have mongoose? There are no mongoose on Kauai. They first brought them to Hawaii to kill the rats But they rats slept during the day so the mongoose never saw rats but Kauai people refused to bring them over. Oh and It sure does seam like are main highway is a little road out in the middle of nowhere doesn’t it. Kaumakani almost burned up July 16. The brush fire got up to the buildings where the pay phone was. About 1000 acres burned. For an update
Zuckerberg's estate is on the NE corner of the island, not the SE. Bill Kreutzmann, now retired drummer for the Grateful Dead, also lives on that part of the island.
Both are jews, not hawaiians. 🙄
Dang Kauai is beautiful - Thanks Nick and Kim for a nice view
Mahalo for the best video yet! Can’t wait to see the other islands.🤟
Each island has a certain vibe to the island!
I just spent a week in Kauai last May. Loved it - especially the free range chickens!😃 We stayed at a condo in Princeville.
We stayed at Kaha Lani Condominiums just down the street from where Elvis stayed at "Cocoa Palms. Elvis stayed here while he made "Blue Hawaii." Elvis brought Priscila and Lisa here too.
I just found you and Kim recently and had to subscribe as your videos and drone shots are phenomenal!! I especially enjoy seeing it all because I used to live in Hawaii. Thank you so much! ALOHA!
🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻
I stayed at Coco Palms Resort in 70s where Elvis filmed Blue Hawaii. It was beautiful. Then the big storm totally destroyed it. Maui was my favorite island.
I got married there, still waiting for it to reopen or something so i can visit that little chapel again. ❤
The last remnants were just torn down last month
@@carlthacker570Such a shame!! Is there any information about Cocoa Palms? Will it ever be opened to the public again? Has a corporation bought it?
Your BEST work yet my friend! Outstanding compared to many others IMHO! Cheers and Peace!
No ones close
@@NickJohnson you are correct! Thank you You are a very kind man! Happy Travels!
Running a marathon there in a little over a month. I’m excited to visit paradise 🏝️ it’s going to be a big difference from Kentucky
I live here and dream of getting back to Kentucky paradise(with a helicopter to go surfing on cape hatteras) aloha
You can guess why certain homeowners in Kauai want to make some beach access difficult.
I could taste the papayas and smell the humid, salted air throughout your video.
I like the song, it has been in my head all day.
I had the chance to travel to one island and we choose Kawaii, it is amazing. We did the correct choice.
Omg this video is amazing! You got off of Oahu. Best Hawaii docuseries ever!
Gee milk only went up a dollar and a half in 30 years?? Wishing the rest of the States would be that kind. PS. You two make the cutest tourists❤.
I've been to Kauai very nice place but it's haunted! due to the souls that was lost during a tsunami. I rented a Airbnb and we heard children playing outside and people talking around 3:15 in the morning...I looked out the window and nobody was there.. I talked to a local a few days later and they told me the story. Yes they do walk through the house but you have to be respectful and they will leave you alone.
Brah, was probably the mai tai’s you had drink. Please.
@@jimbrown4404 pshhh🤣 first time I heard of that!!?? On second thought... yeahyeah he is right. it's all haunted. From the mountain to the see. You better bring extra shorts cause you going 💩 your BVD's
@@HoneyKrisp69 if it a problem just move. I have some haole neighbors who have kids who are loud af too. They have yelling matches in which the kids usually win by cussing their parents out. The level of disrespect is quite shameful.
Everywhere is haunted.
The veils are just thinner here
I love how you and your lady goes through the everyday neighbor hoods not the tourist routes great video I absolutely enjoyed seeing this stuff for the 1stvtime in my life, THANK YOU SO MUCH !!!!
I live in Kauai lol just so you know those toads are poisonous lol. Thank you so much for showing our island! If you ever go again you gotta go to the Waimea Canyon in the morning. It is less foggy and the views are stunning! You can camp at Kokee in the mountains and then see the Waimea Canyon in the morning. Also, you gotta check out Kalihiwai Beach if you ever go again. Did you know the chickens were actually largely introduced because of the underground chicken fighting rings, and then during Hurricane Anini they all got loose and here they are! Anyway appreciate you sharing the culture. Aloha!
Thanks for your grueling work to bring us this 😃 Beautiful place!
Interesting fact Nick. The chickens took over after a major storm let loose tons of them decades ago.
We were lucky enough to stay with ex military at their hotel. Thank God for the PX! We got cheap eats to warm up in the hotel Microwave to eat! Nothing Cooler than celebrating New Year’s Eve on Oahu!❤❤❤❤
Poor Nick. He has to be exploring the most brutal parts of America when he could be somewhere like....Browning, MT.
Thanks for taking one of the team going to Kauai, Nick!
Hawai’i is not part of America, there’s no treaty of annexation. We are an internationally recognized sovereign nation that is OCCUPIED by America.
@@The.Hawaiian.Kingdom I definitely empathize with that and don’t have any objection to it. It’s hard to defend imperialism.
@@kevinspilker6622
Mahalo Kevin… unfortunately many Americans in fact DO defend imperialism, typically with baseless “if it wasn’t us, it would’ve been someone else” claims… as if that justifies crimes. Imagine using that as your defense in court “your honor, if I hadn’t killed him, someone worse would’ve done it, he should be grateful it was me and not someone worse.” lol 🤦🏽♀️
I like that you fixed the ALOHA Nick, you da man!
I love your video, its so real - from the cost of living to the diff between Isles just a few minutes away. Everything is so overly expensive on every island & the vibe on each Island is soooo diff!
Love the song by Jack the guitarist!
Thank you!
Just love your HI vids, Nick. Brings happy memories of Hawaii ❤
Great overview Mr. Nick. Kauai is our favorite island we got married there almost 30 years ago. Hubby and I have been multiple times so happy you enjoyed your time 💜🙌🙌
I went there twice, on my honeymoon, then again. Watching your video. I hope you found the Blue Room. I had quite an experience cresting into the cave with 3 girls harmonizing angelic music. A real life experience that was amazing.
Thanks for the wonderful video Nick 🇦🇺
That surfboard that broke in half is easily 50 years old so no great loss. Foodland in Hawaii is like Safeway on the mainland. Kind of the big major supermarket chain. I worked for them a bit as a young adult. As always, if you insist on eating like a mainlander, food's gonna be expensive and if you eat like a local it will cost a lot less. The catch here is I don't know how to learn to eat like a local unless you grow up in Hawaii among local people.
what a tropical paradise! damn beautiful place 😭🌴🌴
not sure I would wanna live there permanently though. but it sure is pretty
That was really fun! You need hiking boots for some of those paths to the beach. What a beautiful island. Love all the chickens strutting around, the frogs, the peacock, all the animals! 😁
Kauai is next level. I am thankful I got to see that place. People should read about the Robinson family and their history on Kauai. I think they even own Niihau. What a great job you do Nick. Cant wait to see you get to a million here shortly. Keep Reppin the Wolfpack. Safe travels
@@TheRedDevil_NC Yes, they do own Niihau. A strange history.
You have the best job in the world.
aww I'm lucky I know
this video is really cool! this island is so small, ive been pointing out ppl and cars i know all video, the guy at anahola store is my nextdoor neighbor, the guys in foodland with only pants was my papa's best friend unko bobby! the guy with the red truck in the feild is my unko tooooo! im not even done and im so sad that its gonna be over
Uncle uncle uncle
Another outstanding production 🌴🦀🧉 Elvis Presley
Kauai is a real treat!!
I don't want to be that guy but isn't Niʻihau the most isolated of the islands? Anyways, keep up the good work Nick.
Yes, CG, you are absolutely 💯 % correct!
Kauai is not the smallest island. Of the eight major Hawaiian Islands Kahoolawe is the smallest. Kauai is the oldest of the islands and is number four in land mass.
The most isolated island is Kaho'olawe.
The forbidden island is Ni'ihau.
I stayed at a Princevillle condo with a friend. I definitely couldn’t afford it. 😮 Loved it.
Aloha! I hope that you are able to help homeless too! Mahalo for helping and vlogging!🙏🌈🌴
That tree at 33:17 is spectacular. How broad and expansive its canopy is!
the song has more pick up, more catchy when accelerated to 1.25 makes a difference in the riff and upbeat vibe
Yessai lets pick it up!
4 worth going to
The smallest island in Hawaii is Kahoolawe & Gilligan’s island is actually a small island off Oahu called Moku’ole where they do marine research now
Love that guys voice.❤️
Not as easy to keep the grass neat and keep the weeds out in a climate so conducive to growth. But you can easily arrange stuff on the lawn, make it look more orderly
Nick- you would enjoy an ice fishing adventure through the communities on Lake Mille Lacs! Check out some drone footage and plan a great adventure for next winter. There's nothing in this world like the night sky on the lake in January and falling asleep to the sound of ice thunder!
My husband and I celebrated our honeymoon in Halape in 1973. Your video is excellent!! Great job! Aloha, Mike and Marcy
Thanks for the trip down memory lane! Love Kauai
I hope you got Jack's info 🎸 I want to hear that whole song
Another excellent Hawaii island informative video! Thanks!!
You fixed it good bruh & found the best kupuna clip for people to hear. Aloha 🤙🏼
Nice video but I have to disagree with the title...Molokai would be more isolated and Ni'ihau even more so to the point you need permission to go there!.. Kauai is a beautiful vacation spot!
